Al Jazeera op-ed praises US-Israel operation against Iran, says Dems, media critics are wrong

Operation Epic Fury is receiving praise from an unlikely source. Al Jazeera, the Qatari government-funded news organization, published an op-ed Monday declaring in the headline, "The US-Israeli strategy against Iran is working."
"Two weeks into Operation Epic Fury, the dominant narrative has settled into a comfortable groove: The United States and Israel stumbled into a war without a plan. Iran is retaliating across the region. Oil prices are surging, and the world is facing another Middle Eastern quagmire. US senators have called it a blunder. Cable news has tallied the crises. Commentators have warned of a long war... But this narrative is wrong," the piece began.
"Not because the costs are imaginary, but because the critics are measuring the wrong things. They are [cataloging] the price of the campaign while ignoring the strategic ledger." Muhanad Seloom, an assistant professor at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, authored the piece.
"When you look at what has actually happened to Iran’s principal instruments of power – its ballistic missile arsenal, its nuclear infrastructure, its air [defenses], its navy and its proxy command architecture – the picture is not one of US failure. Law Rarely Used in Domestic Terrorism Cases Used to Convict Texas Antifa Members

The landmark case differentiates political activism from criminal activity and lays the groundwork for further prosecution, legal experts say.

The federal government this past week set legal precedent by applying a terrorism law—typically used against foreign terrorist organizations—to successfully prosecute a Texas Antifa cell for homegrown political violence.
The March 13 mixed verdict is expected to deter terrorist groups such as Antifa and facilitate future prosecutions.
Eight defendants were convicted in the Fort Worth, Texas, trial of supporting terrorists, carrying explosives, and rioting.
Benjamin Song was the only defendant convicted of attempted murder and discharging a firearm during a violent crime. Prosecutors said Song fired 11 shots until his AR-style rifle jammed, hitting an officer in the neck who had responded to a 911 call.
The convictions were seen as a victory for the Trump administration and followed President Donald Trump’s executive order on Sept. 22, 2025, designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization.
The case received national attention as it was the first time members of Antifa, short for anti-fascist, were charged with terrorism-related offenses, despite their involvement in protests that have sometimes turned violent.
Federal prosecutors convinced the jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas that on July 4, 2025, the defendants launched a planned attack on the Prairieland Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility outside Dallas.
The defense argued that their clients staged a “noise demonstration” at the ICE facility with fireworks and a bullhorn to support illegal immigrants, claiming that they never intended to harm anyone. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to bring conviction and truth into the minds and hearts of all Antifa leaders, reveal to them that You see and know each of them by name, that there is nothing hidden from You. Israel Says Iranian Security Chief Ali Larijani Killed in Strikes

The elimination of senior officials of the Iranian regime has been ordered by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to his office.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on March 17 that the Israeli military had killed Iran’s security chief, Ali Larijani, as well as Gholamreza Soleimani, who led the volunteer Basij militia, which plays a major role in domestic security.
Katz said he had been informed by the Israeli military that Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and Soleimani had been killed in overnight air strikes.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a March 17 post on X that the Israeli leader had ordered “the elimination of senior officials of the Iranian regime.” The office published a photograph of Netanyahu issuing the directive.
Tehran offered no immediate response to Katz’s remarks.
A handwritten note by Larijani commemorating Iranian sailors killed in a U.S. attack was posted from his X account on March 17.
The Israel Defense Forces described Larijani in a post on X as one of the most senior figures in the Iranian leadership and a close associate of the late Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Senate Opens Debate on SAVE America Act

Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) has balked at a push to use the talking filibuster to advance the voter ID and citizen registration bill.

The Senate on March 17 initiated what could be an extended debate on the SAVE America Act, election-integrity legislation championed by President Donald Trump that is still far from passage.
Senators voted 51–48 to begin debate on the bill, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections as well as photo identification to cast ballots.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) voted against the measure. Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), who has criticized the SAVE America Act, did not vote.
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), a swing voter in the upper chamber, voiced his objections to the present version of the SAVE America Act earlier in the month, taking issue with Trump’s criticism of mail-in voting. He also signaled support for photo ID in elections.
Other Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), have opposed the SAVE America Act in stronger terms, with Schumer saying it would disenfranchise many voters.
The SAVE America Act passed the House on Feb. 11, mostly along party lines. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), a Democrat in a competitive district, broke with his party to support it.
Trump has described the legislation as a major priority, telling House Republicans at a Florida retreat on March 9 that the legislation would “guarantee the midterms” if passed.

Trump Reveals Fate of Senators Who Oppose SAVE America Act

President Donald Trump said he will “NEVER” endorse any senator who votes against his SAVE America Act.
“Get your Senators, REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT, to VOTE ‘YES’ ON ‘THE SAVE AMERICA ACT,’” Trump said. “I WILL NEVER (EVER!) ENDORSE ANYONE WHO VOTES AGAINST ‘SAVE AMERICA!!!’”
If passed and signed into law, the SAVE America Act, which stands for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote and a valid photo ID to vote.
Trump demanded additions to the bill that passed the House, including provisions ending mail-in voting, banning men from women’s sports, and prohibiting irreversible transgender procedures for minors.
“The Save America Act is one of the most IMPORTANT & CONSEQUENTIAL pieces of legislation in the history of Congress, and America itself,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “NO MORE RIGGED ELECTIONS! Voter I.D., Proof of Citizenship, No Rigged Mail-In Voting (We are the only Country in the World that allows this!), No Men in Women’s Sports, No Transgender MUTILIZATION of our Children.”
Trump said these are all “90% to 99% ISSUES” that only “sick, demented, or deranged people” would oppose.
“If they do, each one of these points, separately, will be used against the user in his/her political campaign for office – A guaranteed loss!” Trump said.

We ask You to speak to the hearts of all in the Senate who are looking to block this bill from being passed, give them the vision to see Your thoughts on if this bill should be passed or not. We ask You to ensure that Your perfect will is done regarding this legislation. 1. Israel kills Iran intelligence minister Khatib in latest high-profile strike

The IDF carried out a targeted assassination on Iranian intelligence minister Esmaeil Khatib, the military and Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed on Wednesday.
Khatib’s death marks one of the most significant assassinations in Iran since the early days of Operation Roaring Lion, aka Epic Fury, alongside the killing of Iran’s de facto leader, Ali Larijani, and Basij militia chief Gholamreza Soleimani on Monday night.
Khatib had been the intelligence minister since August 2021, when ultra-hardliner and former Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi was elected.
When Raisi was killed in a helicopter crash, and Masoud Pezeshkian succeeded him as Iranian president, Khatib remained in his role, an unusual move since traditionally new presidents replaced top ministers with their own close associates. (Read more)

2. IDF strikes Iran's largest gas facility in move coordinated with Trump

A major strike hit southern Iran on Wednesday: the oil refineries at Assaluyeh, on the shores of the Persian Gulf, were attacked, Iranian state media reported, including Tasnim News Agency (affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps). No further details on the attack were released.
Fars News Agency reported that several powerful explosions were heard moments earlier at multiple refineries in Assaluyeh. According to the report, storage tanks and infrastructure were struck across several compounds within the refinery complex. Workers were evacuated to a safe area, and rescue and firefighting units are working to contain the blaze.
A military source told Israel Hayom minutes after the attack, "We assess that damage to Iran's gas facilities will affect energy infrastructure not only here but across the Middle East." (Read more)

4. IDF strikes Hezbollah financial, military sites; Lebanese authorities report 14 dead - Times of Israel
Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon on Wednesday killed at least 14 people and wounded dozens, according to Lebanon’s health ministry, as the Israel Defense Forces said it struck Hezbollah targets in response to the Iran-backed terror group’s rocket barrage on northern Israel overnight.
The military also renewed its call for residents of Hezbollah’s southern Lebanon heartland to flee northward, and said it would bomb crossings used by Hezbollah to move troops and equipment south over the Litani River, which runs some 30 kilometers (18 miles) north of the Israeli border.
Israel has escalated airstrikes and pushed troops farther into Lebanon after Hezbollah earlier this month started launching attacks on Israel for the first time since the November 2024 Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire agreement, which ended over a year of conflict.

1. Forty House Republicans stage revolt against Senate over SAVE America Act - DML News
Forty House Republicans defied Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Tuesday in a failed attempt to stall Senate-backed legislation until Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) advances the SAVE America Act.
The GOP rebels opposed a measure sponsored by Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) on two small business innovation programs that passed the Senate on March 3. But the legislation still passed 345 to 41, with all but one Democrat voting yes, because House GOP leadership put it on the floor under suspension of rules. The parliamentary procedure requires that legislation pass by a two-thirds majority.
The move from GOP leadership comes as several Republicans, led by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), have pledged to vote against all legislation sent to the House by the Senate until the chamber passes the SAVE America Act, which would require an ID to cast a ballot and proof of citizenship to register to vote. 2. New unclassified threat report reveals the ‘most likely’ terror attack scenario on US soil amid Iran war - DML News
The US intelligence community believes that among the biggest threats to US national security is the rise of radicalized US-based lone wolf actors. The 2026 Annual Threat Assessment released by the Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s office reveals that terrorism threats from teenage extremists are surging. ‘The most likely terrorist attack scenario in the Homeland involves U.S.-based lone offenders,’ the March 2026 unclassified report notes.

Stupidocrisy—Schumer’s Reasoning for Not Standing

The State of the Union address has long been a moment when the nation pauses, at least for a few minutes, to acknowledge shared principles. This year, one moment stood out. During the address, President Trump challenged members of Congress to stand if they agreed that the first duty of government is to protect American citizens rather than illegal immigrants. Republicans rose. Democrats stayed seated. Those who remained seated appeared to reject the a very foundation of the US Constitution. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) defended sitting, arguing that Democrats refused to stand because they disagreed with the administration’s immigration enforcement policies.
Schumer’s explanation was that Democrats do want to protect Americans, but that the president’s approach does not actually do so. In interviews after the speech, he argued that immigration enforcement agencies like ICE have violated Americans’ rights and therefore Democrats were justified in remaining seated. The reasoning may satisfy partisan allies, but it leaves many Americans scratching their heads. The question posed in that chamber was simple: should the government prioritize its own citizens? It was not a policy bill or a complex legislative proposal. It was a statement of principle. In politics, optics matter. Footage of an interview with Rubio and Fox News host Sean Hannity started circulating Monday on social media platform X.
Understandably, this administration has been addressing many questions surrounding the Middle East given the ongoing conflict with Iran, an Islamic state.
Understanding Iran and its theocracy comes down to understanding Islam, the driving force behind its 1979 revolution, when the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini — setting the standard for his country’s future relations with the West — called America “the Great Satan.”
Rubio — who is by no means ignorant to Iran’s history or its leadership — elaborated on how America should view this ideology.
“Ultimately, all radical Islamic movements in the world identify the West at large, but the United States in particular, as the greatest evil on the earth.
“The notion that somehow radical Islam would be comfortable with simply controlling some province in Iraq or Syria is just not borne out by history.
“Radical Islam has shown that their desire is not simply to occupy one part of the world and be happy with their own little caliphate. They want to expand. It is revolutionary in its nature. It seeks to expand and control more territories and more people.”
Rubio then brought his comments into a more modern context, mentioning the U.S., Europe, and Iran. “And radical Islam has designs, openly, on the West, on the United States, on Europe,” he warned.

Muhammad himself did not come in peace. His life boils down to that of a bloodthirsty warlord who took a child as his bride. His calls for violence permeate the Quran.
Quran 3:56 reads, “As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help.”
Quran 9:14 says, “Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people.”
If it could not be clearer, Quran 61:4 reads, “Surely Allah loves those who fight in his cause.”

The Quran is considered to be the absolutely most important guide and directive, straight from the Islamic moon-god (not our Creator, the King of Kings), to its followers. Breaking: Trump Suspends 100-Year-Old Law in Bid to Lower Oil Prices

President Donald Trump is issuing a temporary waiver of the Jones Act for two months in an effort to lower oil prices amid America’s ongoing conflict with Iran.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the move on Wednesday.
“President Trump’s decision to issue a 60-day Jones Act waiver is just another step to mitigate the short-term disruptions to the oil market as the U.S. military continues meeting the objectives of Operation Epic Fury,” she wrote on the social media site X.
Leavitt added, “This action will allow vital resources like oil, natural gas, fertilizer, and coal to flow freely to U.S. ports for sixty days, and the Administration remains committed to continuing to strengthen our critical supply chains.”
The Jones Act forces America to only use U.S.-built and operated ships for transporting goods between American ports to support domestic shipping.
It is seen as a protectionist measure and has increased shipping costs for the United States.
Despite Trump, and Energy Secretary Chris Wright, speaking out to calm energy markets when oil initially soared past $100 per barrel, the effect seems to have only been temporary, making the Jones Act waiver a foregone conclusion.
Waivers for the Jones Act can be granted in times of war, emergency, or natural disaster to ease the supply chain.
“Congress has also authorized waivers of the Jones Act in the interest of national defense,” according to the Library of Congress. “The domestic shipping restrictions were waived during World War I. They were waived again in preparation for World War II. In 1950, after the Korean War began, Congress enacted a provision allowing the executive branch to issue waivers ‘in the interest of national defense.'”

Breaking: Declassified Doc Confirms China Did, in Fact, Breach US Election Security Leading up to 2020 Election

With Republicans working to pass the SAVE America Act in the Senate to safeguard election integrity, a new report out of Washington is highlighting a potential danger to American elections that Democrats don’t want to talk about.
And it turns out there’s a good reason for that — since it could cast a shadow over Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 vote that has never quite set right with the American right.
It’s a danger that comes from the People’s Republic of China — the United States’ most dangerous enemy on the global stage.
According to a document obtained by Just the News, and confirmed with officials who had knowledge of the investigation, Beijing was able to electronically infiltrate unidentified American election systems as part of a cyber-espionage campaign.
“[Redacted] Chinese intelligence officials analyzed multiple U.S. states’ [Redacted] election voter registration data, [Redacted] to conduct public opinion analysis on the 2020 US general election,” a portion of an April 2020 National Intelligence Council document stated.
The memo, titled “Cyber Operations Enabling Expansive Authoritarianism,” was “quietly declassified” in 2022, but received no attention from either President Joe Biden’s administration or from the establishment media.
“That means six years later that the U.S. intelligence community has yet to fully inform the American people or the Congress on the breadth of evidence it possesses of China’s actions, how Beijing got the data, and what operations it has taken or contemplated,” wrote Just the News founder John Solomon and chief investigative correspondent Jerry Dunleavy.
The information in question relates to voter registration — not actual voting systems. But that doesn’t make it unimportant.
“Voter registration data is not the same as ballots, where Americans choose their candidates,” Solomon and Dunleavy wrote. “But it contains sensitive personally identifying information, including driver’s license data and partial Social Security numbers. The data is considered so sensitive that several Democrat states are currently trying to keep the Trump Justice Department from obtaining it and liberal groups claim it is a holy grail of election integrity.”

US embassies ordered to 'immediately' review security as attacks spread

The State Department is ordering all U.S. embassies and consular posts worldwide to conduct security reviews without delay, according to a cable seen by NBC News.
The order, which came from Undersecretary of Management Jason Evans and was signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, told the embassies Tuesday to undertake the security reviews “immediately,” citing “the ongoing and developing situation in the Middle East and the potential for spill-over effects.”
The cable instructed all posts to report their security practices to Washington as soon as possible and to notify U.S. citizens “where appropriate,” citing the department’s “No Double Standard Policy,” which says important security information must be made available to private citizens.
The order was first reported by The Washington Post.
A spokesperson said that the State Department does not comment on internal communications and that it has "continually conducted" what are known as Emergency Action Committees, which are tasked with “preparing for and responding to” potential security risks that could affect U.S. citizens.
“Every embassy in the region conducted Emergency Action Committees (EACs) that included interagency representatives before Operation Epic Fury began,” the State Department spokesperson said, using the name of the military strikes against Iran that began Feb. 28.
The spokesperson added that the State Department “regularly directs” its diplomatic posts to convene EACs and that their timing and frequency “are determined by a range of operational considerations and do not necessarily indicate a new or specific threat.”
An Iran-aligned militia group fired drones and rockets at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday, according to a U.S. official. Six of the seven projectiles were intercepted, and there were no injuries or serious damage.
U.S. embassies in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have also been targeted by retaliatory strikes, while an explosion at the U.S. Embassy in Norway is under investigation, with Norwegian police saying it may have been a deliberate attack linked to the “current security situation.”
On the eve of the first U.S. strikes on Iran, the U.S. told embassy staff members in Israel to leave quickly if they would like, “out of an abundance of caution.”
The war in Iran is raging into its third week, with no clear end in sight as President Donald Trump and his administration have sent conflicting signals about its duration.
NBC News previously reported that U.S. military officials have regularly provided Trump with off-ramps for the war — options he has not opted for so far. Trump said Friday that he will know the conflict is over “when I feel it in my bones.” (NBC News) Read more here.

SpaceX reaches 10,000 simultaneous Starlink satellites in orbit following Falcon 9 launch from California

SpaceX crossed the threshold of having more than 10,000 Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit simultaneously for the first time. The milestone comes less than seven years after launching its first batch of satellites in May 2019.
Coincidently, the Monday night launch also coincided with the 100th anniversary of Robert Goddard’s launch of the first liquid-propelled rocket, which was fueled by gasoline. A century later, SpaceX’s Monday night launch of a Falcon 9 rocket was the 615th flight of this kerosene-fueled rocket.
Liftoff of the mission that put SpaceX over the 10,000-satellite threshold, dubbed Starlink Group 17-24, happened at 10:19:09 p.m. PDT (1:19:09 a.m. EDT / 0619:09 UTC on Tuesday, Mar. 17).
The Falcon 9 rocket flew on a southerly trajectory upon leaving Space Launch Complex 4 East. This was the 17th orbital launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California so far this year.
SpaceX launched the mission using the Falcon 9 first stage booster with the tail number of 1088. This was its 14th flight, following the launches of NASA’s SPHEREx, Transporter-12, two missions for the National Reconnaissance Office and nine previous Starlink missions.
A little more than eight minutes after liftoff, B1088 landed on the drone ship, ‘Of Course I Still Love,’ positioned in the Pacific Ocean. This was the 184th landing on this vessel and the 586th booster landing for SpaceX to date.
The 25 Starlink satellites deployed a little more than an hour after liftoff.
10,000 and counting
The sheer volume of SpaceX’s Starlink constellation puts it in a league of its own. The company has been averaging a launch every 2.3 days in 2026, with 26 out of its 33 Falcon 9 rocket launches this year sending Starlink satellites into orbit. (Spaceflight Now)
