Rededicate 250 could be largest US religious gathering in 50 years, Robert Jeffress says
|

|
Thousands are expected to gather on the National Mall this month for a massive day of prayer and worship aimed at calling the United States back to God ahead of its 250th anniversary, with one pastor predicting it could be the nation’s largest religious gathering in more than 50 years.
Multiple Trump administration officials and Christian conservative faith leaders will attend and speak at May 17's Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving. The event is one of many festivities planned as part of the nationwide Freedom 250 celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the U.S.
The all-day event, which is free and open to all Americans, bills itself as “a historic gathering" that will feature Scripture, testimony, prayer and "rededication of our country as One Nation to God.” Those unable to attend can access a livestream through partner churches, ministries and organizations.
Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Dallas in Texas, who is scheduled to speak at the event, likened it to Explo ‘72, a 1972 Campus Crusade for Christ conference attended by over 80,000 college and high school students in Dallas. The five-day gathering, which some say marked the height of the Jesus Movement, saw the late televangelist Billy Graham preach and Kris Kristofferson, a recent convert to Christianity, perform.
In an interview with The Christian Post, Jeffress said Explo ‘72 was “a giant outpouring of enthusiasm for the Christian faith" and anticipates that Rededicate 250 “will be something that’s as big or bigger.”
“I believe President [Donald] Trump believes, yes, we should celebrate the 250th birthday of America, and we will do it in a great, glorious way, but it’s also a time, he believes, for America to rededicate herself to God,” Jeffress, who has long supported Trump, said.
“If America is going to experience revival, then I first have to have a revival in my heart. For America to rededicate herself to Christ means I must rededicate myself to Christ. 3 US Warships Fend Off Iranian Attacks,
Trump Says Ceasefire Still Holds

|
A trio of U.S. warships fended off a series of attacks from Iranian missiles, drones, and attack boats on May 7, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced.
CENTCOM said the guided-missile destroyers USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason were sailing through the Strait of Hormuz on May 7 when they came under attack.
The U.S. military command said U.S. forces “eliminated inbound threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for attacking U.S. forces including missile and drone launch sites; command and control locations; and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance nodes.”
CENTCOM reported that no U.S. assets were struck in the exchange.
Although CENTCOM described the incident as an unprovoked attack by the Iranian side, Iranian state media reported that U.S. forces initiated the hostilities.
In a statement shared by Iranian state media, a spokesperson for Iran’s military headquarters said U.S. forces attacked an Iranian oil tanker sailing near the Iranian port city of Jask and a separate vessel sailing near the Emirati port of Fujairah. Iran’s military spokesperson called the alleged attack a violation of the ceasefire Washington and Tehran entered into on April 7. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Virginia Supreme Court tosses Dem-backed redistricting map,
upending expected 10–1 edge
|
|
The Virginia Supreme Court on Friday invalidated a new, voter-approved redistricting map, delivering a significant victory for Republicans in the state ahead of the fast-approaching 2026 midterm elections.
"We hold that the legislative process employed to advance this proposal violated Article XII, Section 1 of the Constitution of Virginia," the Virginia Supreme Court said in the ruling. "This constitutional violation incurably taints the resulting referendum vote and nullifies its legal efficacy."
The Virginia Supreme Court heard oral arguments last month over the newly passed congressional map, which voters in the state approved by a narrow 51% to 49% margin.
The ballot measure would have given the Democrat-controlled Virginia legislature — rather than the state's current nonpartisan commission — temporary redistricting power through 2030.
It was also expected to yield a 10-1 advantage for Democrats in Virginia's congressional delegation, up from their current 6-5 edge. Republicans quickly sued to block the effort, prompting the state supreme court to hear oral arguments last month.

Trump DOJ escalates citizenship crackdown on group accused of hiding terror ties, violent crimes
|
|
The Department of Justice has ramped up its use of a rarely deployed legal tool to strip citizenship, targeting 12 naturalized Americans accused of hiding ties to terrorism, violent crimes and other offenses, and signaling more cases will follow.
The action on Friday against 12 immigrants included bringing civil complaints or charges against those from Iraq, Somalia, China and India. It comes as acting Attorney General Todd Blanche touts expanding the typically difficult effort to denaturalize people and also follows the DOJ Civil Division ordering more denaturalizations in a memo last summer about the Trump administration's priorities, which include cracking down on illegal immigration and fraud.
Blanche said in a statement to Fox News Digital of Friday's sweeping enforcement action that anyone "who intentionally concealed their criminal histories or misrepresented themselves during the naturalization process will face the fullest extent of the law." (Fox News) Read more here.

Holy God, we thank You that this action will begin to remove these people who have hidden their ties to terrorists or have openly pushed for foreign nations' supremacy over the US. There are members of Congress who have done this as well or lied on their applications, so we pray that they will be held accountable, too. Trump announces surprise three-day ceasefire in Russia-Ukraine war
|
|
President Donald Trump on Friday announced a three-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia to celebrate the Soviet Union’s victory in World War II, as well as a massive prisoner exchange between both nations.
The ceasefire will begin on Saturday and run through Monday, Trump wrote on Truth Social. "The celebration in Russia is for Victory Day but, likewise, in Ukraine, because they were also a big part and factor of World War II. This ceasefire will include a suspension of all kinetic activity, and also a prisoner swap of 1,000 prisoners from each country," he added. "This request was made directly by me, and I very much appreciate its agreement by President Vladimir Putin and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy."
Russia will celebrate Victory Day on Saturday, marking the Soviet Union’s defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. It is one of Russia's most important national holidays.
However, festivities have been scaled back amid the war as Moscow opted for a low-key celebration. This year's traditional military parade won't feature tanks, missiles, or other military equipment for the first time in decades. (Fox News) Read more here.

Lord, we pray that this US brokered ceasefire will hold, although it has not held in the past. We ask that You move across both Russia and Ukraine, bringing repentance. We bind the murderous spirit of hatred present in this conflict and by the Blood of Jesus we ask that all who live consumed by it be brought to their knees. 1. Netanyahu: War is not over, there is more work to do in Iran - Israel Hayom
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday, in an interview with "60 Minutes" set to air overnight, that the war with Iran "is not over."
"There is still enriched uranium that needs to be removed from Iran, there are still enrichment sites that need to be dismantled, and there is more work to do," he said. According to Netanyahu, Trump told him, "I want to go in there," adding that he believed "it can be done physically."
Trump also addressed the matter on Sunday, saying the US had struck about 70% of its targets in Iran. "We have certain targets that we wanted to hit, and we've done probably 70% of them, but we have other targets that we could conceivably hit. But even if we didn't do that, you know, that would just be final touches. But even if we didn't do that, it would take them many years to rebuild," Trump said. (Read more)

2. Chief of Staff: IDF not ordered to disarm Hezbollah - Israel National News
IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir appeared before the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Sunday and delivered a classified security briefing.
This was the first time Zamir addressed the committee since taking office a year and two months ago.
Regarding the draft, the Chief of Staff stressed that passing three conscription laws is critical for the military. He stressed that the law being passed must not be a "virtual law" alone and noted that he does not want to be portrayed as supporting one specific version of the law or another.
He warned that without advancing the laws, the reserve army will not be able to cope with the load in the coming years. According to Zamir, the three laws are needed to prevent substantial harm to the reserve system's competence and coping ability. (Read more)

3. IDF hits 40-plus Hezbollah targets, kills 100 terrorists - JNS
Israeli forces struck more than 40 Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites and killed more than 100 terrorists belonging to the Iranian proxy in Southern Lebanon this weekend, the military said on Sunday.
Soldiers from the Israel Defense Forces’ 91st “Galilee” Division attacked military-use targets, weapons storage facilities, a launcher and additional infrastructure sites. The slain terrorists were operating near IDF soldiers.
“The infrastructure sites struck were used by Hezbollah terrorists to advance and carry out attacks against IDF soldiers operating in Southern Lebanon,” the army said. “The IDF will continue to operate against threats directed at Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, in accordance with directives from the political echelon.” (Read more)

4. Government approves massive investment into ancient Samaria

The Israeli government has reapproved a major initiative to restore and develop the Ancient Samaria National Park in Sebastia, allocating NIS 28 million toward archaeological preservation, tourism infrastructure and public accessibility at the historic site in northern Samaria.
The plan, promoted by Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman together with Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, will place the site under the management of the Israel Nature and Parks Authority and aims to establish Sebastia as a major national heritage and tourism destination.
Under the multi-year program, government ministries will provide NIS 12.52 million between 2026 and 2028, while the Ministry of Heritage will contribute an additional NIS 6 million. The funding will support continued archaeological excavations, preservation of ancient remains and the advancement of a development plan that includes new access roads, hiking trails and public facilities modeled after the popular Herodium archaeological park. 5. Jerusalem Gay Pride parade will end at Knesset for 1st time in over a decade

For the first time in over a decade, the annual Jerusalem Pride Parade, scheduled for June, will end in front of the Knesset.
The annual parade, which has been held in the capital city despite significant opposition from conservative Jewish groups, is being organized by the Jerusalem Open House for Pride and Tolerance, an LGBTQ rights organization in the capital city.
In contrast to pride parades in Tel Aviv, considered a very accepting city for the LGBTQ community, the Jerusalem march lacks the same carnival atmosphere.
Due to the significant opposition by religious Jews, who make up a majority of Jerusalem’s population, the parade sees a heavy police presence. This is especially so following the 2015 murder of Shira Banky, a 16-year-old activist, who was attacked by the religious extremist Yishai Schlissel, only three weeks after his release from a 10-year prison sentence for stabbing marchers during the 2005 Jerusalem Pride parade. 1. Rubio meets Meloni as Trump–Pope clash escalates US strains with key European ally- Fox News
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is meeting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni Thursday in Rome amid diplomatic tensions with both Italy and the Vatican.
The meeting comes one day after Rubio, a practicing Catholic, held talks at the Vatican with Pope Leo and senior church officials in what many observers viewed as an effort to calm relations after weeks of escalating rhetoric between President Donald Trump and the Holy See.
For much of Trump’s second term, Meloni was widely viewed as Trump’s closest ideological ally among major European leaders. But that relationship has begun to fray amid disputes over the Iran war.

2. Sen. Rick Scott Rips House Dems After Rep. Jayapal Says She Has Been Trying to Help Cuba Get Oil - Breitbart
Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) criticized House Democrat leaders after Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) admitted that she had spoken to ambassadors from Mexico and other countries to get oil to Cuba.
During a press briefing on Cuba on Tuesday, Jayapal spoke about how, in January, President Donald Trump had signed an executive order “declaring a national emergency over the threats to America posed by Cuba.” In a post on X, Scott responded to Jayapal’s comments in which she described the sanctions against countries giving oil to Cuba, and firms and banks working with Cuba, as “an economic bombing of the infrastructure of Cuba.”

3. DR MARC SIEGEL: Hantavirus cruise outbreak is alarming, but fear is spreading faster than facts - Fox News
Fear is generally far more virulent than the virus that causes it. This is the case with the current hantavirus outbreak unless something about the virus itself has changed, which is very unlikely.
As far as we know, the only thing that this hantavirus has in common with the SARS-CoV-2 virus that sparked the COVID pandemic is that both are single-stranded RNA viruses and both sparked outbreaks on cruise ships. Of course, the current hantavirus outbreak on the MV Hondius is sparking memories of the Diamond Princess, which departed from Japan in late January 2020 for a cruise of the Western Pacific. The cruise ended up being quarantined off Japan for two weeks, after 712 of the 3,711 people on board became infected with the new COVID-19 virus.
But that’s where the similarity ends. On the MV Hondius, which left from Argentina, where the Andes strain of hantavirus is found, eight patients have become infected, and three have died, in part because the Andes strain can cause highly dangerous and deadly hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, or HPS. Unfortunately, the Andes strain can lead to HPS, and, given the close confines of a cruise ship, the vessel is an optimal environment for the spread of contagions. (Read more)

4. Court Moves Against Trump Trade Agenda In Major Ruling - Daily Wire
The U.S. trade court on Thursday ruled against President Donald Trump’s latest 10% global tariffs, finding across-the-board tariffs were not justified under a 1970s trade law.
The U.S. Court of International Trade ruled in favor of small businesses that challenged the tariffs, which took effect on February 24. The ruling was 2-1, with one judge saying it was premature to grant victory to the small business plaintiffs.
The small businesses had argued the new tariffs were an attempt to sidestep a landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that struck down the Republican president’s 2025 tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
In his February order, Trump invoked Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, which allows for duties for up to 150 days to correct serious “balance of payments deficits” or head off an imminent depreciation of the dollar. (Read more)

5. Disclosure: War Department Releases First Tranche of Formerly Classified UFO Files - Breitbart
The War Department released Friday its first batch of “never-before-seen” files and videos on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon (UAP), some of them dating back nearly 80 years.
The disclosure comes two days after President Donald Trump, who ordered the release, predicted, “I think some of it’s going to be very interesting to people,” news outlets reported.
The Department of War posted news of the release on X, directing citizens to see the files for themselves at the website war.gov/ufo. It is the first of what is expected to be repeated file dumps in coming weeks.
“This release follows the direction of President Donald J. Trump to begin the process of identifying and declassifying government files related to UAP in the interest of total transparency,” the department said in a statement. “No other President or administration in history has followed through on this level of UAP transparency.” (Read more)

6. Disney Does Damage Control After Several Staffers Arrested on Cruise Ship in Massive Child Porn Sting - Breitbart
The Walt Disney Company has made a statement after several of its staffers were arrested as part of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s ongoing child sexual exploitation material enforcement operations.
“We have a zero-tolerance policy for this type of behavior and fully cooperated with law enforcement,” a Disney spokesperson told the New York Post responding to news of arrests being made after federal agents boarded five cruise ships, including a Disney cruise docked in San Diego, between April 23 and 25.
“While the majority of these individuals were not from our cruise line, those who were are no longer with the company,” Disney said.

Trump blockade squeezing Iran so
hard regime may be dumping oil into Gulf, experts say

Satellite imagery revealed a massive suspected oil slick spreading near Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil export terminal, in what experts say could be evidence that Tehran’s oil infrastructure is buckling under mounting U.S. pressure.
The slick, seen in Copernicus Sentinel satellite images between Wednesday and Friday, covered roughly 45 square kilometers west of the island, according to analysts cited by Reuters.
The incident is emerging as a potential sign that Trump’s maritime pressure campaign is achieving one of its central objectives: overwhelming Iran’s export system to the point where Tehran can no longer move or store crude fast enough to sustain normal production. (Fox News) Read more here.

While it remains unclear whether the Council on American‑Islamic Relations will testify, a House Judiciary subcommittee is set to hold a hearing Tuesday examining how CAIR and similar organizations are promoting Sharia law and other efforts lawmakers say are “incompatible with Western civilization” in the United States.
“Sharia law has no place in the United States, and these hearings are about exposing it, defending the rule of law, and protecting the values that make America strong,” Rep. Chip Roy, R‑Texas, told The Daily Signal.
To The Daily Signal, Roy has previously accused CAIR of having a “30‑year history replete with associating with terrorist groups and individuals who want to undermine the security and values of the U.S. and its allies.”
CAIR has also come under renewed scrutiny following allegations that it supported a controversial housing development in Texas that lawmakers have said would enforce Sharia law. Sens. Jim Risch (R-ID), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Mike Crapo (R-ID), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, marked 2026 Hostage Week by renewing calls for the release of Stephen Hubbard, the Idaho-connected American detained in Russia after being taken from eastern Ukraine during Moscow’s 2022 invasion.
“This Hostage Week, Americans across the country come together to send a unified message to those who are wrongfully detained around the world: we have not forgotten you and we never will,” the senators told Breitbart News in an exclusive joint statement.
“In particular, we think this week of Stephen Hubbard, who is being detained without cause in a Russian prison,” they continued. “Stephen is 74, in declining health, and has a family who loves him back in Idaho.”
“We will do everything in our power to ensure his release, including working alongside the Administration to punish Russia and other bad actors who take Americans hostage,” the senators said.
“Through penalties under the Countering Wrongful Detention Act, we will show these nations that Americans aren’t to be messed with abroad, used for hostage diplomacy, or any other evil cause,” they added. “This practice must end.” (Breitbart)

FBI tracks down centuries-old Christian artifact in unexpected place: 'Incredibly exciting'

The FBI recently announced that it recovered a stolen, centuries-old religious artifact from Italy after it resurfaced in an unexpected location: New England.
The 17th-century reliquary urn was obtained by FBI agents on February 11, though officials did not announce its recovery until April 30.
The urn was "one of 17 ecclesiastical artifacts stolen from the Church of San Michele Arcangelo di Cangiano" between 2012 and 2022, the FBI's Boston office said in a statement.
Images show the gilded artifact's ornate Baroque design, which was used to hold Catholic relics.
Kristen Setera, a spokesperson for the FBI's Boston office, told Fox News Digital the urn was discovered missing during an inventory in November 2022.
Investigators later traced the roughly 400-year-old artifact to a New England antiques dealer, who had purchased it from another dealer in Italy. Read More
