Alabama Becomes Latest State to Require Ten Commandments
|
|
|
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed Senate Bill 99, which requires the display of the Ten Commandments in some public schools.
“In Alabama, we proudly remember that we live in one nation under God. The Ten Commandments – like the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights – are critical to understanding the founding of our country,” Ivey said in a statement. “Especially as we approach the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, it is of the utmost importance Alabama’s children understand the history of this great country we call home. That absolutely includes a foundational document like the Ten Commandments.”
According to the law, the Ten Commandments will be displayed in schools “subject to the availability of donations.” The law states that the Ten Commandments are “a key part of the Judeo Christian religious and moral tradition that shaped Western Civilization and ultimately the founding of the United States.” Teaching students about the Ten Commandments “promotes historical understanding and helps to foster a common cultural heritage and awareness,” the law adds. Father, we lift praise for the State of Alabama displaying the Ten Commandments in public schools! Pour Your favor upon Governor Kay Ivey for standing boldly by signing Senate Bill 99. May the children of Alabama be blessed through learning the historical and spiritual heritage of the United States of America! We pray for younger generations to have an unwavering love for God and country, not only in Alabama, Texas and Arkansas where the Ten Commandments are being exhibited in classrooms, but also across school districts in our nation. In the Name of Jesus, we decree and declare future legal battles in defiance of displaying the Ten Commandments will not prevail! We worship You Abba and thank You for protecting America as One Nation under God, all for Your holy GLORY! In the mighty and powerful Name of Jesus Christ, we pray- Amen.

Trump: US to Help ‘Free Up’ Ships in Strait of Hormuz Starting Monday
|
|
|
U.S. forces will “help free up” ships trapped in the Strait of Hormuz starting on Monday morning, President Donald Trump said on May 3.
Trump said countries from across the world had asked the United States to help move the stranded ships.
“They are merely neutral and innocent bystanders!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “For the good of Iran, the Middle East, and the United States, we have told these Countries that we will guide their Ships safely out of these restricted Waterways, so that they can freely and ably get on with their business.”
Trump said on Sunday that the ships the United States will help move are “not in any way involved” with the conflict in the Middle East and described the operation as a “humanitarian gesture.”
“I have told my Representatives to inform them that we will use best efforts to get their Ships and Crews safely out of the Strait,” Trump added.
“In all cases, they said they will not be returning until the area becomes safe for navigation, and everything else.”
Trump did not reveal whether the U.S. Navy would be involved.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said on May 4 that its forces will begin assisting merchant vessels “seeking to freely transit” through the Strait of Hormuz as part of a mission known as “Project Freedom.”
The command said that 15,000 U.S. service members, guided-missile destroyers, multi-domain unmanned platforms, and over 100 land and sea-based aircraft will take part in the mission.
“Our support for this defensive mission is essential to regional security and the global economy as we also maintain the naval blockade,” CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper said in a statement. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Lord, thank you for our President and the help that is coming to these ships. We praise you for this victory. We continue to come against war, strife, divisions and oppression in the spirit right now, that it will not come to fruition, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Iran Proposes 2-Month Ceasefire With US
|
|
|
Iranian officials on Sunday sent a message to the United States via Pakistan for a two-month-long ceasefire amid negotiations to end the war, according to state-run media.
The Iranian officials stressed that issues between Tehran and Washington must be resolved within 30 days, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News, with a focus on extending the ceasefire.
It was part of a 14-point proposal that included the release of Iranian frozen assets, sanctions removals, lifting a naval blockade, withdrawing U.S. forces from around Iran, and “a new mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz,” Tasnim said. It did not elaborate on what rules the country wants for the strait, although Iranian regime leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei released a statement last week that “new rules” would be imposed by the regime on the waterway.
Later on Sunday, Iranian state media reported that the Trump administration conveyed its response to the Iranian regime and that Tehran is evaluating it.
“At this stage, we do not have nuclear negotiations,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told state-run media.
U.S. officials have said that Iran cannot have control of, or impose toll fees on, ships passing through the strait, a strategic waterway that links the Persian Gulf with the Indian Ocean that normally carries 20 percent of the world’s oil. Since the war started, Iran has attacked or threatened ships in the strait and elsewhere in the region, effectively shutting down commercial transit in the waterway and pushing oil and gas prices significantly higher. Father God, we pray for our president as he deals with Iran that You would give him wisdom and favor with their leaders as he makes deals with them. We ask that everything will work out in our favor. We continue to come against war and division in the Middle East, in Jesus' name, amen.
“Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” (Psalms 5:12)

2 US Service Members Missing During Exercise in Morocco
|
|
|
U.S. and Moroccan forces are conducting a coordinated search and rescue operation after two U.S. Army soldiers participating in training exercises in Morocco were reported missing and may have fallen into the ocean on May 2, officials said.
Authorities said the incident does not appear to be related to terrorism and is believed to be accidental. The search continues, with efforts focused on locating the missing personnel.
The soldiers were last seen near ocean cliffs during scheduled training near the Cap Draa Training Area, outside the city of Tan Tan, Morocco. When they did not return as expected, U.S. and Moroccan personnel launched a joint search effort.
The multinational search operation includes ground teams, aircraft, and maritime assets from the Moroccan armed forces, U.S. armed forces, and other participants. Assets deployed include Moroccan SA 330 Puma and AS332 Super Puma helicopters, a U.S. CH-47 Chinook, unmanned aerial systems, a U.S. logistics support vessel, and a Moroccan navy frigate.
Units involved in the search include elements of the 19th Special Forces Group, the Second Air Support Operations Squadron, the Third Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, and the 173rd Airborne Brigade, along with multiple Moroccan units.
The incident occurred during African Lion 2026, a large-scale joint military exercise led by U.S. Africa Command in coordination with Moroccan forces and other international partners.
The multinational drills bring together dozens of countries and thousands of troops for coordinated training across Morocco, Ghana, Senegal, and Tunisia. The drills are designed to strengthen coordination and interoperability among allied and partner militaries operating across the region. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

US Airlines to Aid Stranded Passengers After Spirit Airlines Shuts Down
|
|
|
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said that U.S. airlines will assist stranded passengers and displaced workers after Spirit Airlines said on May 2 that it had ceased operations “effective immediately.”
The airline canceled its flights and said its passengers should not go to the airport.
Major carriers, including American, Delta, United, and Southwest, have agreed to cap or reduce fares for Spirit customers for a limited time, and other airlines are offering discounts or freezing prices on overlapping routes, according to a statement by the Transportation Department.
Passengers affected by Spirit Airlines’ shutdown may have limited and potentially delayed options for recovering their money. Spirit ticket holders were advised to seek refunds through their credit card issuer by requesting a chargeback for services not rendered.
Passengers could also check whether any travel insurance policy covers airline insolvency or service interruptions and file a claim in bankruptcy court—a process the Transportation Department said can take time and may result in only a partial refund.
Republicans and Democrats blamed each other for Spirit’s troubles.
Duffy blamed the Biden administration.
“In blocking the Jetblue/Spirit merger in 2024, they turned their backs on the American consumer and our great aviation workforce,” Duffy said, according to the press release.
“Regardless of how we got here, the Trump Administration is committed to taking care of you and your family when you fly. In a matter of hours, we’ve activated our airline partners to ensure passengers are not stranded, communities maintain route access, fares do not skyrocket, and Spirit’s workforce is connected to new job opportunities.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

|
Lord God we pray for all of those who have been stranded and mistreated by this sudden tragedy that your perfect peace would flood every heart and mind. We pray comfort over everyone and that you would help all other airlines pick up passengers and get them where they need to go safely. Amen.
"The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)

1. High alert: Israel prepares for possible collapse of ceasefire with Iran
- Israel National News
Israel is bracing for a potential collapse of the ceasefire and even the possibility of missile fire from Iran, as regional tensions reach a new peak following the American “Project Freedom" to break the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s latest attack on the UAE.
Israeli security officials stated that the IDF is prepared to respond immediately to any direct Iranian attack on Israeli targets and is closely monitoring suspicious activity across the Middle East.
Threats from Tehran have intensified in recent hours, with an Iranian military spokesperson posting a message warning of a “night of rage." At the same time, reports have emerged of an emergency meeting of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, raising concerns that Tehran may be planning a broad military response to increasing U.S. pressure.

2. Hezbollah confirms its fighters clashed with Israeli troops in south Lebanon
- Times of Israel
Hezbollah says its forces clashed with Israeli soldiers on Monday in south Lebanon near the border where the troops are still operating, despite a fragile ceasefire since April 17.
The Iran-backed terror group says in a statement that after Israeli troops attempted to advance near the town of Deir Seryan, its fighters “opened fire on the enemy force and engaged in heavy clashes with them.”
Deir Seryan is inside the Israeli-declared “yellow line” running up to 10 kilometers (six miles) deep along the length of the border in south Lebanon, where residents have been told not to return.
The IDF confirmed earlier Monday that there were clashes with Hezbollah fighters in south Lebanon during which two of its soldiers were moderately wounded. (Read more)

5. Police disperse hundreds of civilians from Mount Meron attempting to light fires for Lag Ba'omer - Jerusalem Post
Israel Police disperse hundreds of civilians who entered Mount Meron on Monday, on the eve of Lag Ba'omer, in an attempt to light bonfires after the government banned the event earlier this week due to the ongoing conflict with Hezbollah in northern Israel.
The police confirmed they are working to prevent people from entering the complex, detaining buses and personal vehicles traveling to the site, even in violation of guidelines.
"We clarify that, given the security situation and the Home Front Command's instructions, staying in the mountain area without a permit constitutes a danger to the public," the police stated.
"We call on the public to be responsible, to celebrate the Rashbi celebration safely at home and within the communities, and not to reach the checkpoints," the police added, clarifying that entry will only be allowed for authorized people. (Read more)

1. Thousands in US join ‘no school, no work, no shopping’ May Day protest and economic blackout - The Guardian.com
Thousands have joined an economic blackout for International Workers’ Day, as part of 3,500 “May Day Strong” events across the country. Organizers have called for “no school, no work, no shopping”, with walkouts, marches, block parties and demonstrations held outside of institutions such as the New York Stock Exchange.
On Friday afternoon in Manhattan, protesters from the youth-led Sunrise Movement chained themselves to the front of the stock exchange while more sat blocking the exits to the property. They were joined by about 100 protesters before being arrested and removed about an hour later. A small crowd remained, playing music and chanting: “Tax the rich!”
Sunrise protesters also led demonstrations in other cities that ended in arrests. In Portland, they occupied a Hilton hotel lobby where Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials were allegedly staying, and in Minneapolis, six Sunrise protesters were arrested for blocking a bridge. (Read more)

2. Crude futures fall on new Iran proposal for peace talks - Reuters
An Iranian proposal on negotiations with the U.S. sent crude oil futures diving on Friday, but prices remained on track for weekly gains, with Tehran still blocking the Strait of Hormuz and the U.S. Navy blocking exports of Iranian crude.
Oil prices have been on the rise since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran at the end of February, resulting in the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the disruption of shipments of about a fifth of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas supply.
By the end of trading on Friday, the oil market appeared to be accepting the uneasy truce in the conflict.
"The market rises and falls on the prospects of an outcome to the conflict," said John Kilduff, partner with Again Capital. "And right now the situation is a stalemate, at least until the market closes." (Read more)

3. Trump says Iran war 'terminated,' as war powers deadline arrives - Reuters
U.S. President Donald Trump declared that a ceasefire had "terminated" hostilities against Iran, as he sought to bolster his argument that he does not need lawmakers' permission to continue the conflict.
In a letter to congressional leaders on Friday, the deadline to come to Congress about the war, Trump said there has been no exchange of fire with Iran since the ceasefire. "The hostilities that began on February 28, 2026, have terminated," he said.
Under the 1973 War Powers Resolution, a U.S. president can wage military action for only 60 days before ending it, asking Congress for authorization or seeking a 30-day extension due to "unavoidable military necessity regarding the safety of United States Armed Forces" while withdrawing forces.
On Friday, Iranian state news agency IRNA said Tehran had sent its latest proposal for negotiations with the U.S. to Pakistani mediators. Trump swiftly rejected it.
The president formally notified Congress of the conflict 48 hours after the first airstrikes two months ago, starting the 60-day clock that ends May 1. As the date approached, congressional aides and analysts said they expected the Republican president to sidestep the deadline. A senior Trump administration official had said on Thursday the administration's view was that the war powers law deadline did not apply. Trump said he considered the war powers law unconstitutional. 4. Europe rattled by 'disastrous trend' as Trump pulls 5,000 troops out of Germany - NBC News
European leaders called for the continent to learn how to defend itself Saturday after Pentagon officials said the U.S. was withdrawing approximately 5,000 troops from Germany.
The pullout decision came after Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the U.S. had been “humiliated” by Iran, causing a spat with Washington and capping weeks of President Donald Trump’s frustration that U.S. allies in Europe are not doing enough to help with the spiraling crisis in the Middle East.
It comes at a time of deep divisions between Washington and its European allies, with trans-Atlantic tensions already heightened by tariff threats, U.S. pressure on Ukraine to make concessions to Russia in exchange for peace, and Trump’s push earlier this year to take over Greenland, the semiautonomous territory of NATO ally Denmark.
“That the U.S. would withdraw troops from Europe and also from Germany was foreseeable,” German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in a statement on Saturday. Almost 40,000 U.S. troops are currently stationed in Germany, he said — the largest contingent in Europe and a key logistics hub for American forces on the continent.
“We Europeans must assume more responsibility for our security,” he added. “Germany is on the right track.” (Read more)

5. IDF downs Hezbollah drones, strikes dozens of terror targets in Lebanon - JNS.org
The Israel Defense Forces said on Friday that it had intercepted at least four drones launched by Hezbollah, while the outcome of a fifth interception attempt remained under review.
According to the military, one unmanned aerial vehicle crossed from Lebanon into the Western Galilee, triggering air-raid sirens in the Mediterranean coast kibbutz of Rosh Hanikra, before being intercepted by the Israeli Air Force.
Three additional drones were shot down over Southern Lebanon before crossing the border, the IDF said, adding that, in accordance with policy, no alerts were activated in those cases.
An interceptor missile was also launched toward another suspected Hezbollah drone identified in an area of Southern Lebanon where Israeli troops are operating. The IDF said the results of that interception were still being examined.
Separately, the military said it struck more than 40 Hezbollah targets across Southern Lebanon over the past day, including command centers, “military” structures and other terrorist infrastructure used to plan and carry out attacks on Israeli forces and civilians. (Read more)

Are we showing up for God’s appointments?
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 4, 2026
In Leviticus 21:1-24:23, Emor, meaning “Say,” the LORD instructs Moses to speak directly to the priests about holiness in every detail of life. These were sacred boundaries for those who ministered in the presence of a holy God. The priests were to maintain ritual purity, avoid contact with the dead except for close family, and carry themselves in a way that reflected the holiness of the One they served. Every offering brought before the LORD had to be without defect, a reminder that what is given to God reflects the heart behind it. The command stands firm, “I am to be regarded as holy among the people of Israel; I am ADONAI who makes you holy” (Leviticus 22:31b). Holiness begins with Him flowing outward through obedience.
In Leviticus 23, the LORD lays out His calendar, a system built on the moon rather than the sun, which pagans worshiped as a god. The focus turns to the rhythm of life God established through His “moedim” or appointed times--divine meetings. God declared, “The LORD’s appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations—My appointed times are these” (Leviticus 23:2). Each one served as a standing invitation to gather, remember, and draw near. From Shabbat to Passover, from Shavu’ot to Sukkot, these moments anchored life in God’s presence. The Tabernacle, and later the Temple, became the meeting place where heaven and earth intersected. Even after the Temple’s destruction, the appointments remained, described as a perpetual statute in every generation and every dwelling place. Read More

Connecticut lawmakers move to regulate homeschooling amid child welfare concerns and response from DCF
|
|
|
|
Connecticut's lawmakers are close to passing historic regulations on homeschooling, prompting concerns over feasibility and potential impacts from state agencies.
|
|
|
CONNECTICUT, USA — For the first time in state history, state lawmakers are on the verge of passing legislation that would regulate homeschooling in Connecticut.
It’s a move that has been debated for years in Connecticut, with several advocates pushing for some type of legislation and safeguards for years.
Now, we’re getting an inside look at what two state agencies who have been at the center of some of the discussion surrounding this topic, think about the legislation.
The Connecticut Department of Children and Families and the Connecticut State Department of Education are weighing in on House Bill 5468, which would significantly change how parents and guardians withdraw their children from public school to homeschool in the state.
Under the proposal, parents would be required to go in person to their child’s school and file an intent-to-withdraw form. Then, within two business days, a review would be conducted through DCF databases, including the child abuse registry to determine whether there are any open cases involving the family and members in the home. If there are, the child would not be allowed to be withdrawn from school.
The legislation comes after years of concern from advocates and community members who say a lack of oversight has, in some cases, led to tragic outcomes for children. (Fox News) Read more here.

|
Holy Father,
As the Democrats in Connecticut try to pass this homeschool limits bill, we ask that You intervene in this matter. The reasoning behind this proposal doesn't make sense as they probe into data on academic performance because statistics already show higher academic scores from homeschooled children. Also, the proposed "background investigation," which researches alleged child abuse incidents in the homes of parents that wish to homeschool their children, also has many potential pitfalls and is not a reliable source of data about whether to allow these families to train their children at home.
Lord, if there is any hidden agenda to take more rights away from parents, we ask that it be cast by the wayside. We bless these parents and their children as You direct their paths. In Jesus' name. Amen.
"For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known and brought into the open." (Luke 8:17)

Exclusive — Deputy Italian Prime Minister Matteo Salvini: Trump’s ‘Courage’ for ‘Cultural Foundation’ Critical to Survival of the West
|
|
|
|
MILAN, Italy — While President Donald Trump and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni may have been somewhat feuding over Trump’s criticisms of Pope Leo XIV and NATO during the Iran war, there remains deep ties between the movements that elected both of the leaders in their respective countries.
Matteo Salvini, the Deputy Prime Minister of Italy and leader of the Lega or League political party that rounds out the coalition that put Meloni in as Prime Minister, held a huge rally a couple weeks ago in Duomo Square here in Milan alongside other major European conservatives like Jordan Bardella from France and Geert Wilders from the Netherlands. During his address, he told the crowd that President Trump is “our ally” and “our friend,” and that “every misunderstanding will be settled very soon.” (Breitbart)
> > > Editor's note: this is a brief excerpt from a lengthy interview that P.M. Meloni gave
to Breitbart news recently. We encourage our readers to go here to study all the details
of this article.

Lord God,
We thank You, God, for the deep ties that exist between the movements that elected President Trump and the Deputy Italian Prime Minister Matteo Salvini. .As both America and Italy fight against the problems concerning immigration, we ask Lord that You give direct wisdom and discernment to both nations in this battle to reject and tear down far left strategies in America and in our ally, Italy. Lord,You are the cultural value based foundation that all nations must stand on to have a thriving economic future. Wake up, Father, all those who are tearing down righteousness in our nations and bringing confusion and chaos to the world! We pray for peace, as we humbly offer this prayer. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Report: Pro-China Billionaire Funded NYC’s May Day Events Where Zohran Mamdani Pushed Taxing the Rich
|
|
|
|
Two leftist groups that have directly or indirectly received funding from a pro-Chinese Communist Party tech-billionaire reportedly helped organize protesters in New York City’s Union Square for communist and socialist May Day events on Friday.
The groups called The People’s Forum (TPF) and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) have in some form received money from Neville Roy Singham, according to Fox News.
“A self-identified speaker from PSL announced a People’s Forum spokesperson who was the second to speak into a microphone. The speaker rallied the crowd of demonstrators, asking them to repeat chants and later bashed capitalism. Shortly before remarks, PSL arrived with dozens of pre-made anti-Trump signs and equipment, unloading them from a van parked next to Union Sq. Park,” the outlet said, noting pro-Communism advocates handed out newspapers and encouraged people to attend future events.
“Teamsters and unions gathered downtown at Washington Square Park while TPF and PSL marched from Union Square several blocks up. The union workers’ rally ended shortly after the Singham-connected groups arrived,” the report continued.
Breitbart News Foundation (BNF) reported that Singham’s wife is left-wing Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans. Chinese government records reviewed by the BNF also showed “Singham’s deep, extensive ties with the Chinese regime.”
“Both the People’s Forum and Code Pink have received millions of dollars’ worth of funding for years. These organizations were at the forefront of the anti-Israel and pro-Hamas wave of protests across U.S. university campuses in the months following Hamas’s October 7, 2023, terrorist attack on Israel,” the article stated.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a self-described Democratic Socialist, spoke to attendees at the rally in Washington Square Park on Friday and said he was “working to tax the wealthiest and the most profitable corporations in New York City”:
According to the Fox article, one of the communist papers handed out at the events read: “The existing capitalist-imperialist system and institutions of government in this country must be abolished and dismantled — and replaced by a new, socialist system based on the constitution for the new socialist republic of America.”
About 600 groups that included communists and others with ties to the Democrat Party mobilized across the nation on Friday to participate in May Day. (Breitbart) Read more

Jehovah Elohim,
We ask that You put the fear of God into Mamdani and these socialist and communist groups, The People's Forum and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Father, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end in America! Wake up the people to see that these double- minded socialists (and communists) are being funded by very wealthy individuals who want to establish a Socialist agenda to take away all rights of ownership, while they own everything.
In Jesus' name, we pull down the strongholds of ignorance and confusion in America that will lead people into hopelessness and despair and we release wisdom and the renewing of their minds to be able to see truth. Lord, shake what needs to be shaken in order for truth to reign in our nation. Lord, hear our prayer. Amen and Amen.

Archaeologists uncover massive artifact depicting pharaoh thought to have challenged Moses in Exodus
|
|
|
Archaeologists in Egypt recently uncovered a massive statue believed to depict King Ramses II, the pharoah believed to be a major character in the Old Testament.
The statue was found at the Tel Pharaoh site in Husseiniya Center, Sharqia Governorate, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said on April 22. The site is in Egypt's Nile Delta, northeast of Cairo.
Officials also described the statue as "remarkable" in size, weighing between 5 and 6 tons and measuring over 7 feet long.
In a translated statement, the ministry described the statue as being in a "relatively poor condition of preservation," with its legs and base missing.
Still, officials described the statue as "likely represent[ing] King Ramses II."
