Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at Museum of the Bible
invites nonbelievers to witness 'power' of biblical texts
WASHINGTON — The Museum of the Bible's latest exhibit, “Dead Sea Scrolls: The Exhibition,” features the oldest copies of biblical fragments, and Matthias Walther, the museum’s chief marketing officer, hopes it will invite nonbelievers to reconsider their assumptions about the Bible.

“When you come here, you see the actual documents. You go back to the source,” Walther told The Christian Post during a preview of the exhibit on Wednesday ahead of its weekend opening.

“And all the theories that you have about ‘Is this true,' 'Is this not true,' and ‘Can I trust the Bible or not?’ I hope this will be a step to say, ‘Man, there's something there that I need to discover,’” Walther added. “‘Maybe I need to do my homework and identify all the preconceived notions that I had about this book. Maybe they're not true?’”

The exhibition, which is the result of a partnership with the Israel Antiquities Authority and Running Subway, will open to the public on Saturday.

Three rotations of Dead Sea Scroll fragments will make their way through the museum during the exhibition’s run, with the rotations taking place from November to February, February to May, and May to September. (Christian Post) Read More Here
Father, we thank You for Holy Spirit insight through the opportunity of viewing the Dead Sea Scrolls!  We pray those experiencing the exhibit, at the Museum of the Bible, would have eyes, ears and hearts unveiled causing many to know and follow Jesus Christ. May Your miraculous Ways prevail, bringing lost prodigals home and unbelievers to faith, adding thousands more into the holy Kingdom of God!  We pray this in the powerful Name and Blood of Yeshua-Amen and Amen.

Israel kills Hezbollah ‘chief of staff’ in Beirut

The IDF said Sunday it killed the Hezbollah terrorist group’s “chief of staff” in Beirut in a targeted airstrike, pledging to continue to act against its efforts to rebuild and rearm.

The military operation against the No. 2 leader in the terrorist organization—which was dubbed “Black Friday”—was the first Israeli strike on Beirut since July and came nearly a year to the day since a ceasefire entered into force.

“A short while ago, the IDF struck in the heart of Beirut the Hezbollah chief of staff, who led the terrorist organization’s military buildup and armament,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in the afternoon.

The target was identified as Haytham Ali Tabatabai, Hezbollah’s No. 2 after Secretary-General Naim Qassem.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “ordered the strike on the recommendation of the defense minister and the IDF chief of staff,” noted the statement from the premier’s office. The Jewish state is “determined to act to achieve its objectives anywhere, at any time,” the statement continued. (JNS.org) Read more here.

Netanyahu praises IDF after killing top Hezbollah leader

Just hours after the killing of Ali Tabatabai, Hezbollah’s number two and a key commander of the Radwan Force, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation Sunday evening in a firm, resolute statement. Hezbollah names four additional operatives killed in Israeli strike on Beirut

Hezbollah announces the deaths of four operatives in an Israeli strike on Beirut today, in addition to its de facto military leader, Haytham Ali Tabatabai.

They are named as Ibrahim Ali Hussein, Rifaat Ahmed Hussein, Mustafa Asaad Barrou and Qassem Hussein Barjawi.

Lebanon’s health ministry said the strike killed five people and wounded 28 more. It hit a multi-story building, sending debris crashing into cars on the main road below. (Times of Israel) Read more here

Lord God, we continue to cover the Middle East in the blood of Jesus. We cover all those who are suffering that you would send supernatural help. We come against all anti-semitism, division, and confusion and break its powers now in Jesus' name. We thank You that this dangerous criminal has now been taken down. Father God, we continue to thank You for giving Netanyahu and others wisdom in making tough choices and courage to do what’s right, in Jesus' name. Amen.

“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” (Matthew 24:6-7)

US ready to launch fresh operations against Maduro regime in Venezuela

The United States is poised to launch a new phase of Venezuela-related operations in the coming days, four US officials tell Reuters, as the Trump administration escalates pressure on President Nicolas Maduro’s government.

Reuters is not able to establish the exact timing or scope of the new operations, nor whether US President Donald Trump had made a final decision to act. Reports of looming action have proliferated in recent weeks as the US military has deployed forces to the Caribbean amid worsening relations with Venezuela.

Two of the US officials say covert operations would likely be the first part of the new action against Maduro. All four officials quoted in this article speak on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the impending action by the United States. (Times of Israel) Read more here.

Lord God, we ask that you give present Trump wisdom, clarity, and understanding while dealing with this hostile government of Venezuela. We continue to pray that all violence would cease and desist in Jesus' name. Father God, please help us through this difficult situation, in Jesus' name, amen and amen!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.”        (‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-8‬)

'Operation Swamp Sweep': Immigration Campaign Heads for New Orleans

President Donald Trump’s deputies will next take their citywide immigration enforcement strategy southward to New Orleans, Louisiana, according to reports.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is set to deploy some 250 law enforcement officers in what is dubbed “Operation Swamp Sweep” to continue Trump’s nationwide immigration crackdown, the Associated Press reported.

The next phase of the crackdown will be led by Customs and Border Protection chief Gregory Bovino, who has become Trump’s go-to leader since Chicago’s “Operation Midway Blitz” launched in September. Bovino has led citywide operations in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Charlotte, and is set to move on to the Big Easy next month.

Anti-American and pro-migrant groups are already racing to oppose federal law enforcement operations in New Orleans using the experiences of violent activists in Chicago as a blueprint, according to reports.

However, unlike in previous cities where Bovino took charge of the immigration crackdown, the New Orleans Police Department is actually preparing to cooperate with Bovino’s campaign. Each of the other cities have either actively resisted or passively refused to help federal law enforcement. (Breitbart) Read more here.

We pray for the safety of all law enforcement officers participating in strategic, dangerous efforts to rid our country of violent criminals. We ask you, Lord God, to give them all wisdom as they track these criminals and plan their operations. Thank you, Lord, for restoring America’s safety, in Jesus' name, amen.

“the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!” (Isaiah 30:18)

New Arctic discovery could deal massive blow to Chinese dominance of rare earth minerals
Graphite Creek deposit dubbed largest in US now contains defense-qualifying materials including neodymium

A project heralded by Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy and accelerated by President Donald Trump stands to deal a huge blow to China’s dominance in the nanotechnology, energy and automotive sectors as the GraphiteOne site near Nome uncovered vast reserves — for which Beijing previously accounted for 90% of production.

As of 2024, the U.S. was at least 93% import-dependent on both rare earth elements (REEs) and graphite itself, according to the International Energy Agency, and the Graphite Creek deposit has already been dubbed the largest such tranche in the U.S.

But, this week’s announcement that REEs were discovered in addition to the graphite lode portends a step-up that the U.S. can take against the CCP through Trump’s "American energy dominance" agenda, according to a source familiar with the situation. (Fox News)
Read more here.

We thank You, Lord, that this discovery of the GraphiteOne site near Nome, Alaska, will serve to advance Trump's "American energy dominance" agenda, all the while moving Communist China into second place in this sector. We thank you, too, O Lord, that President Trump is keeping true to his promise to increase oil and gas and energy production. We praise God that small businesses will be strong again, and our own production in oil and energy would be strong once again, in Jesus' name, amen.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

1. Netanyahu renews call for Beirut to disarm Hezbollah - JNS

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday urged Beirut to disarm Hezbollah, speaking after an Israel Defense Forces strike in the Lebanese capital killed the Iran-backed terror group’s “chief of staff.”

“I expect the government of Lebanon to fulfill its commitment to disarm Hezbollah,” said Netanyahu as he confirmed the death of Haytham Ali Tabatabai, the group’s No. 2 after Secretary-General Naim Qassem.

Only through Beirut fulfilling its commitments under the Nov. 26, 2024, ceasefire understandings with Jerusalem, Netanyahu said, “can a better future be made possible for every citizen in Lebanon—and only in this way can good and secure neighborly relations be established,” he said.

The premier in his remarks congratulated the IDF on the “professional, accurate and successful” strike and vowed that, “under my leadership, the State of Israel will not allow Hezbollah to rebuild its power and we will not allow it to pose a threat to the State of Israel again.” (Read more)

2. Disputed Gaza aid distributor backed by US and Israel ends operations - Reuters

TEL AVIV, Nov 24 (Reuters) - The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, the U.S.- and Israeli-backed organisation to distribute aid in Gaza, said on Monday it was ending its operations after months of criticism over deaths of hundreds of Palestinians trying to reach GHF hubs.

The GHF, which had bypassed the United Nations and long-established aid agencies to distribute food, upsetting European leaders, made the announcement weeks after suspending its operations following the October 10 ceasefire in Gaza.

The GHF started distributing food to needy Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in late May. Most of its sites were located in southern Gaza, away from much of the population. (Read more)

3. Host of senior officers including ex-IDF intel chief and Air Force chief dismissed, censured over Oct. 7 failures - Times of Israel

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has dismissed several senior officers and censured others over their roles in the October 7, 2023, failures.

Zamir summoned several top officers for meetings today, after vowing earlier this month to make “personal decisions” regarding the commanders based on the findings of a probe conducted by an external panel of experts. In addition, lower-ranking officers were summoned by Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Tamir Yadai.

The decisions include:

Former Intelligence Directorate chief Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliva, who resigned in August 2024, will be dismissed from reserve duty and no longer serve in the IDF. (Read more)

4. Zamir slams Defense Minister’s move to halt IDF appointments
- Israel National News

The IDF Chief of Staff's office issued a strong statement on Monday against Minister of Defense Israel Katz's decision to reevaluate issues raised in the Turgeman Commission's report on the failures that led to the October 7th Massacre, and to suspend appointments in the IDF for a month.

"The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, was informed this morning through the media about the processes the Minister of Defense intends to carry out regarding the review team he established upon entering office - at a time when the Chief of the General Staff is in the midst of a General Staff surprise exercise in the Golan Heights arena," Zamir's office stated.

The office noted that "the Turgeman Team Report was defined from the outset for the Chief of the General Staff’s use, to examine the quality of inquiries and integrative process of learning lessons in the IDF, and not for political use. The decision to cast doubt on the report, which was written over the course of seven months by 12 Major Generals and Brigadier Generals, concluded by the Chief of the General Staff and presented to the Minister personally, is puzzling. The committee heard more than hundreds of testimonies, conducted an in-depth examination, and carried out a professional process. An alternative review of thirty days by the Ministry of Defense Comptroller, with all due respect, is not substantive. In addition, the Minister has already been updated that one of the Chief of the General Staff’s first decisions following the report is to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the 'Jericho Wall' plan, in light of its importance." (Read more

5.  Lapid: Israel will act ‘if necessary’ to counter growing Iranian threat
- World Israel News

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid told JNS on Monday that Jerusalem would “effectively” exercise its right to self-defense against the Iranian regime’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs “if necessary.”

“I think Iran is an existential threat to the Middle East and to the entire world, and it’s not only an Israeli problem, it’s a global problem,” said Lapid, speaking at a meeting of his Yesh Atid Party at the Knesset.

Iran’s ballistic missile program is “threatening the entire region, and therefore, it’s an American problem, a Saudi problem, an Emirati problem, an Israeli problem,” added Lapid, speaking in English.

Israel reserves the right to protect itself “under any circumstances, and we will effectively use this right if necessary,” he said. (Read more)

1. Trump plan would require Ukraine to concede territory to Russia to end war - JNS.org

President Donald Trump's proposal to end the Russia-Ukraine war would recognize Crimea and other areas in eastern Ukraine as Russian, bar future expansion of NATO and prohibit either country from using military force once the plan is agreed upon.

According to the 28-point plan, a copy of which was obtained by USA TODAY and was verified by a knowledgeable source, Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk would be "recognized as de facto Russian, including by the United States."

"Kherson and Zaporizhzhia will be frozen along the line of contact, which will mean de facto recognition along the line of contact," the proposal states. "Russia will relinquish other agreed territories it controls outside the five regions."

The proposal also states: "It is expected that Russia will not invade neighboring countries and NATO will not expand further."

Trump's proposal would require Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's government to make significant concessions to end the war. Ukraine's army would be capped in size and the nation would have to amend its constitution to prohibit it from joining NATO. Ukraine would also have to give up land that Vladimir Putin's military does not currently control and split the electricity that's produced with the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant with Russia. (Read more)

Lord, We just pray for an end to this war between Ukraine and Russia. We pray concessions will be made on both sides to come into an agreement to end this war.

2.  Trump officials’ meeting with Russian in Miami spurs questions about latest Ukraine proposal - Reuters

WASHINGTON, Nov 22 (Reuters) - U.S. officials and lawmakers are increasingly concerned about a meeting last month in which representatives of the Trump administration met with Kirill Dmitriev, a Russian envoy who is under U.S. sanctions, to draft a plan to end the war in Ukraine, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

The meeting took place in Miami at the end of October and included special envoy Steve Witkoff, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and Dmitriev, who leads the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), one of Russia's largest sovereign wealth funds.

A close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitriev has taken a leading role in talks with the U.S. about the war and has met with Witkoff several times this year. The Trump administration has issued a special waiver to allow his entry, one senior U.S. official told Reuters.

Dmitriev and his fund were blacklisted by the U.S. government in 2022 following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The sanctions effectively bar American citizens and companies from dealing with them.

The meeting resulted in a 28-point plan for ending the war, two people familiar with the situation said. The plan, which was made public earlier this week by Axios, came as a surprise to U.S. officials in various corners of the administration and has stirred confusion at embassies throughout Washington and in European capitals. (Read more)

Lord, we pray for peace between Ukraine and Russia.  We pray this plan would be successful for both countries.

3. Iran ‘Has No Choice’ but to Move Capital as Water Crisis Deepens, Says President - The Algemeiner

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Thursday that the country “has no choice” but to relocate its capital, warning that severe ecological strain has made Tehran impossible to sustain — even as the regime spends billions of dollars rebuilding its military and nuclear infrastructure and backing its terrorist proxies.

In a televised national address, the Iranian leader renewed his call to relocate the capital, asserting that the deepening crisis has “rendered the city uninhabitable.”

Pezeshkian said Iran’s water, land, and infrastructure systems are under such extreme pressure that relocating the capital is now unavoidable, adding that when the move was first proposed, the government lacked even a minimal budget to pursue it.

“The truth is, we have no choice left — relocating the capital is now a necessity,” he said during his speech.

With parts of the city sinking up to 30 centimeters a year and water supplies dwindling, Pezeshkian described Tehran’s current situation as a “catastrophe.”

He urged government ministries and public officials to coordinate their efforts to avert a grim future for the country.

“Protecting the environment is not a game,” the Iranian leader said.

“Ignoring it is signing our own destruction,” he continued, explaining that Tehran can no longer cope with population growth or the city’s expanding construction. (Read more)

Lord, we pray for the citizens of Iran, as they suffer under the current regime.  We pray Iran would seek peace with its neighbors who could offer them help.

4. 18 Christian leaders arrested in China amid crackdown on churches - The Christian Post

According to Open Doors, which monitors anti-Christian activity across the world, China has recently begun cracking down on unregistered churches. In September, it was reported that 70 Christians had been detained, with some being arrested during church services.

Accusations included “fraud,” “running an illegal business,” or “organizing unlawful meetings.” In at least one case, church members responsible for managing the collections were accused of financial wrongdoing, despite no complaints from within the church, Open Doors said.

A local partner for Open Doors said of the situation, “Due to the recent crackdown, our church has come to a standstill. More than 80 groups within the house church movement have ceased meeting. Of the original 14 churches, only a few remain.” (Read more)

Lord, we pray You provide a way for these churches to meet without being discovered. We pray Your grace and mercy upon them!

5.  Netanyahu: 5 senior terrorists slain after Gazan fires at troops - JNS.org

The Israel Defense Forces on Saturday killed a terrorist in Gaza who opened fire at Israeli troops in a “blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.

The “terrorist crossed the Yellow Line in a jeep while driving on a humanitarian route, opened fire at IDF forces, and was eliminated within seconds,” the statement read.

In footage released by the military, the Palestinian apparently disembarked from a black jeep and started shooting at targets in front of him.

Retaliatory fire could be seen later in the video, with the terrorist falling to the ground.

“The terrorist opened fire at IDF forces deployed in southern Gaza, without causing any casualties. Immediately upon identification, forces of the Southern Brigade fired and eliminated the terrorist,” the army said.

In response, the IDF, guided by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), and with the assistance of the Israeli Air Force, struck Hamas terror targets in the Gaza Strip, the military added. (Read more)

Lord, we pray the ceasefire agreement will be upheld. We thank You for the quick response by the IDF.

6. 'Ready to negotiate with Israel': Lebanon seeks US help amid tensions - Jerusalem Post

Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said that his country is currently open to engaging with Israel in a partnership for disempowering Hezbollah, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.

According to Bloomberg, Salam declared that the Lebanese State is willing to seek US help in pushing for negotiations, since the Jewish state intensified air strikes on Iran-backed Hezbollah.

In the past, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun had offered to discuss land border disputes and Israel’s withdrawal from the areas retained after the war with Hezbollah last year, as reported by Bloomberg News.

“I repeat the same offer of readiness to negotiate with Israel,” Salam said. (Read more)

Lord, thank You that Lebanon is ready to negotiate with Israel. We pray success for these negotiations.

"Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."     (Jeremiah 29.7)

The Daily Jot

The Seed and the Promise

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, November 24, 2025

Generations rise and fall, yet Scripture keeps circling back to the same promise. Genesis 25:19-28:9 (Toldot, meaning Generations in Hebrew) opens with Isaac and Rebekah, twenty years into marriage and still without a child. Isaac prays, God answers, and suddenly Rebekah is carrying twins who are already wrestling for destiny. The Lord tells her she’s carrying two nations, two rival peoples, and that “the older will serve the younger.” The Apostle Paul in Romans 9:11 reminds us that God made this call “before they were born… so that God’s plan might remain a matter of His sovereign choice.” This is a preview of God’s open invitation to the nations–His election reaching beyond Israel to all who believe.

Jacob’s name adds depth to the unfolding drama. He emerges gripping Esau’s heel, “so his name was called Ya’akov” (Genesis 25:26). That single moment reaches back to Eden, where God told the serpent the “Seed of the woman” would crush his head even though the serpent would bruise His heel. The early teachers of Israel tied this imagery to Messiah, and the Psalmist hints at the same horizon when he writes of the “heels of Your Messiah” in Psalm 89. They believed that phrase pointed to the generation living in the final tremors before Messiah’s arrival. When things get darkest, they said, tune your ear for footsteps. Jacob’s birth scene, hand on heel, feels like an early whisper of that future hope. Read More

NATO chief 'sure' Trump's Ukraine-Russia peace plan will succeed despite 'difficult' talks
Mark Rutte tells 'Fox & Friends' Trump is 'pushing peace worldwide' amid high-stakes Geneva negotiations

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte expressed confidence on Monday that a Trump-backed Ukraine-Russia proposal will eventually bring lasting peace between the warring nations.

"It always takes two to tango, but it starts with a plan, and it starts with a president, President Trump, who wants to end this, as he did with Pakistan, India, as he has done so successfully in Gaza, as he has done with basically eliminating the nuclear capabilities of Iran, what he has done between Armenia and Azerbaijan," Rutte told "Fox & Friends" co-host Brian Kilmeade.

"This is a president really pushing peace worldwide," he continued.

"This is a difficult one. He said that this would be one of the easier ones. No, it was not true. It is one of the more difficult ones, but I'm sure that we will get this done."

Rutte's comments come after U.S. and Ukrainian officials reported "progress" on ending the war with Russia following high-stakes talks in Geneva, Switzerland, on Sunday.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the talks "very worthwhile," adding that they constituted the most productive day in "a very long time." (Fox News) Read more here.

Lord God, we fully acknowledge that it will take a miracle to see this war end between Russia and Ukraine. But we also see that, given his track record of bringing an end to other conflicts throughout the world, Donald Trump IS a miracle-working President who can make this happen. Thank You, Father God, for his equipping as a negotiator. We ask for that miracle now, in Your Name, amen and amen!

Prominent Senate Democrat Under DOW (Dept. of War) Review for ‘Misconduct’

The Department of War released a statement on Monday announcing it will review “serious allegations of misconduct” against Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., a retired Navy captain.

The department’s investigation into Kelly’s actions follows a video posted on X in which Kelly and five other Democrat lawmakers with previous experience in the military or intelligence agencies encouraged service members to refuse illegal orders

“The Department of War has received serious allegations of misconduct against Captain Mark Kelly, USN (Ret.). In accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. § 688, and other applicable regulations, a thorough review of these allegations has been initiated to determine further actions, which may include recall to active duty for court-martial proceedings or administrative measures,” the statement read.

“This matter will be handled in compliance with military law, ensuring due process and impartiality. Further official comments will be limited, to preserve the integrity of the proceedings,” the statement added.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth weighed in on the development with a post on X. “The video made by the ‘Seditious Six’ was despicable, reckless, and false. Encouraging our warriors to ignore the orders of their Commanders undermines every aspect of ‘good order and discipline,'” Hegseth said. “Their foolish screed sows doubt and confusion — which only puts our warriors in danger. Five of the six individuals in that video do not fall under [DOW] jurisdiction (one is CIA and four are former military but not “retired”, so they are no longer subject to UCMJ).”

“However, Mark Kelly (retired Navy Commander) is still subject to UCMJ—and he knows that,” Hegseth continued. “As was announced, the Department is reviewing his statements and actions, which were addressed directly to all troops while explicitly using his rank and service affiliation—lending the appearance of authority to his words. Kelly’s conduct brings discredit upon the armed forces and will be addressed appropriately.” (The Daily Signal)

Father God, we agree with the words of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth concerning the six who defied military protocol by their behavior: “Their foolish screed sows doubt and confusion — which only puts our warriors in danger." We ask that the full weight of military law would rest upon this case, and that justice would be served, so that the safety of our men and women in uniform would never be endangered. We ask this in Your Name, Abba, amen and amen.

He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

Signs & Wonders
Day will turn to night during the longest total solar eclipse of the century

Later this decade, parts of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East will watch daylight fade to blue‑grey, streetlights flicker on, and the Sun’s ghostly crown flare into view. It won’t be brief. This time, the Moon will hold the Sun at bay long enough to set records and stir a mass migration of skywatchers.

What this eclipse means

On 2 August 2027, a total solar eclipse will carve a sweeping path from the Atlantic, across the Strait of Gibraltar, through North Africa and into parts of the Middle East. For a lucky slice of that track, totality will stretch to an astonishing 6 minutes and 23 seconds — the longest such darkness of this century.

Crowds are expected from southern Spain to the Nile Valley, because the path touches densely populated areas with good transport links. The Americas, including Brazil, will sit out this show entirely, seeing no partial phase.

Where day turns to night

Totality will first meet land near the Strait of Gibraltar, then cut across Morocco and surge east through Algeria, Tunisia and Libya before reaching Egypt. After crossing the Nile heartland, the shadow sweeps onward into parts of the Middle East.

Totality will cross Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, then sweep into parts of the Middle East.

Observers outside the narrow totality band will experience a partial eclipse. That still dims the Sun, but it never reveals the solar corona and never brings the full onrush of twilight. (Reteuro.co.uk) Read More
