Dr. Seuss Book “Sing the 50 United States” Celebrates America
|
|
A newly discovered manuscript by Dr. Seuss, titled Sing the 50 United States!, will be released on June 2, 2026, just weeks before the United States marks its 250th anniversary. The patriotic children’s book features the Cat in the Hat traveling across all 50 states, using rhyme and rhythm to introduce young readers to U.S. geography and civic identity.
The unpublished manuscript was found in the archives of the Geisel Library at the University of California, San Diego. Accompanying the text were early sketches and notes from Dr. Seuss, which will be used to guide the final illustrations. Publisher Random House has selected artist Tom Brannon, a longtime illustrator of Seuss-based works, to complete the visuals in keeping with the author’s signature style. The initial print run is set at 500,000 copies.
The book is structured as a state-by-state tour through the United States, led by the Cat in the Hat, and includes a fold-out illustrated map. It is designed to help children memorize all 50 states through poetic storytelling. Educators and parents are expected to welcome the book as a resource for teaching American geography and promoting national unity through engaging, family-friendly content.
The release is timed to coincide with America’s semiquincentennial. Supporters of the book say its message of national togetherness, presented through one of the most beloved American literary voices, is especially meaningful in today’s fractured cultural landscape. Pour favor over Random House Publisher and also artist, Tom Brannon, as he illustrates from Dr. Seuss' early sketches and completes the book to commemorate the United States' 250th anniversary. May this book be found on every library shelf and loved by children everywhere, as an important resource to teach children American geography and love for our beautiful country! Muslim Socialist Zohran Mamdani Elected Mayor of New York City
|
|
|
Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani prevailed over former New York governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa to become New York City’s 111th mayor.
Mamdani had been favored in polling to win over Cuomo, whom he also defeated in June. Cuomo decided to re-enter the race as an independent, and despite closing the margin, was not able to overcome his rival.
Mamdani, 34, will make history as New York’s first Muslim mayor and the first avowed socialist.
Appearing on CNN Tuesday, he said, “If people want to vote for Donald Trump and Elon Musk, they should vote for Andrew Cuomo. If people want to vote for change, they should vote for me.”
Trump endorsed Cuomo on Monday via a Truth Social post, arguing he was the better of two evils.
He argued that Mamdani’s “principles have been tested for over a thousand years, and never once have they been successful.” (Read more here)

Democrat Abigail Spanberger Defeats Winsome Earle-Sears in Virginia Governor's Race
|
|
Former Democratic Virginia Rep. Abigail Spanberger comfortably defeated Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears to become Virginia’s next governor on Tuesday evening, multiple outlets projected.
NBC News called the race for Spanberger just before 8:00 p.m. ET with about 30 percent of the vote in. At the time of the call, Spanberger had 54.3 percent of the vote compared with Earle-Sears’ 45.5 percent, according to NBC News.
Spanberger consistently led Earle-Sears in polling and fundraising throughout the race. Virtually every public survey projected Spanberger’s romp over Earle-Sears with the Democratic nominee heading into election day with a 10.2-point advantage, according to the RealClearPolitics’ average.
Republican Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, who won a major upset in 2021, was barred by Virginia law from running for a consecutive term.
Earle-Sears largely centered her campaign on criticizing Spanberger’s record on transgender issues in K-12 education. The Republican candidate also ripped Spanberger during the final stretch of the race for failing to distance herself from Jay Jones, the Democratic attorney general nominee, who sent violent text messages fantasizing about murdering a political opponent in 2o22.
Earle-Sears never received a formal endorsement from President Donald Trump despite frequently defending his record when responding to Spanberger’s attacks.
The president, however, repeatedly urged Virginia residents to vote Republican during the off-year elections.
“Why would anyone vote for New Jersey and Virginia Gubernatorial Candidates, Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger, when they want transgender for everybody, men playing in women’s sports, High Crime, and the most expensive Energy prices almost anywhere in the World?” Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social on Sunday.
“I think the Republican candidate is very good and I think she should win because the Democrat candidate’s a disaster. So, I haven’t been too much involved in Virginia … I think the Republican candidate is excellent,” Trump told reporters on Oct. 19, while stopping short of endorsing Earle-Sears let alone mentioning her by name. Father God, I come before You as a citizen of the State of Virginia, and I ask You to please forgive all those in my state who voted to uphold a woman who stands for many issues that go against the Word of God. Whether it be transgender issues,
pro-choice legislation, or opposing the right and responsibility of parents (not teachers) to train their children . . . Lord God, all of this and more are an abomination to You.
We ask now that You please shield the righteous in our state from acts of evil; and grant us the strength to continue to fight the good fight for You, in Your name, amen and amen!

Virginians Elect Jay Jones for AG After He Fantasized About Murdering Republicans and Their Children
|
|
Virginians elected Democrat Jay Jones as attorney general Tuesday, despite the release of text messages in which he fantasized about murdering Republican lawmakers and their children.
Those messages were not enough to dissuade Virginians from tapping Jones as the commonwealth’s top cop.
Decision Desk HQ projected Jones had defeated incumbent Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares just over an hour after the polls closed.
In the August 2022 texts, Jones wrote about hypothetically shooting then–Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert in messages to Republican state delegate Carrie Coyner.
“Three people, two bullets. Gilbert, hitler, and pol pot,” Jones wrote, National Review first reported. “Gilbert gets two bullets to the head.”
Coyner replied, “Jay. Please stop.”
The texts also included a line in which Jones said the children of his political rivals should die. Jones never denied sending the texts, and he declined to apologize.
His messages surfaced just weeks after the political assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Republicans across the country condemned Jones’s remarks and called on him to exit the race. Many called on Democratic nominee for governor Abigail Spanberger to demand that Jones withdraw from the race. Spanberger and other Democratic leaders declined to do so. (The Western Journal) Read more.

Holy One, only You can "wake up" the voters in Virginia to understand that Jones' foolish and dangerous words endanger us all. Come, Lord Jesus, come! Save Your people! In Jesus' name, amen and amen!

Republican Jack Ciattarelli Loses New Jersey Governor's Race

Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill will become New Jersey’s next governor after defeating Republican Jack Ciattarelli, according to a projection.
According to Decision Desk HQ, she will deny Ciattarelli a chance to take the state’s policies in a new direction.
The outlet called the race on Tuesday evening shortly after the polls closed.
Sherrill, a staunch supporter of abortion, ran on a big government platform and vowed to further go after guns.
“I strongly support enshrining the right to an abortion in New Jersey’s state constitution to permanently protect reproductive freedom,” Sherrill stated on her campaign website.
“Despite laws in place to protect access to care, too often women in New Jersey face additional barriers in getting care,” the site continues.
“New Jersey must take action to require comprehensive insurance coverage for all reproductive health care services, including abortion.” (The Western Journal) Read more

Lord God, once again we repent for the results of this election in the State of New Jersey. As we gaze upon the results of yesterday's election in many states, we hear the words: "clean sweep." And we are all grieved to see that this has happened in our nation -- that so many voters in so many states have cast their ballots for evil candidates. Today, Lord God, we ask for Your mercy to yet visit our land, as we regroup together to find Your way forward.

California voters pass congressional redistricting proposition in victory for Newsom, Democrats
|

|
California voters have passed a ballot initiative that will have a huge impact on next year's battle for the U.S. House majority.
According to the Fox News Decision Desk, voters in California approved Proposition 50, which would dramatically alter the state's congressional districts, putting the left-leaning state front and center in the high-stakes political fight over redistricting that pits President Donald Trump and the GOP against the Democrats.
Approval of the ballot initiative in the nation's most populous state will temporarily sidetrack California's nonpartisan redistricting commission and return the power to draw the congressional maps to the Democrat-dominated legislature.
The effort in California, which could create five more Democratic-leaning congressional districts, aims to counter the passage in the reliable red state of Texas of a new map that aims to create up to five right-leaning House seats. Failure to approve what's known as Proposition 50 would have been a stinging setback for Democrats.
Two-term Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is seen as a likely 2028 Democratic presidential contender, spearheaded the push to pass the proposition.
"If we lose here, we are going to have total Republican control in the House, the Senate and the White House for at least two more years," Newsom emphasized in a recent fundraising appeal to supporters. "If we win here, we can put a check on Trump for his final two years." (Fox News) Read more here

1. Body of murdered hostage Sgt. Itay Chen returned to Israel - Israel National News
The Prime Minister’s Office announced early Wednesday morning that the body of abducted fallen soldier Sergeant Itay Chen has been returned to Israel by the murderous terrorist organization Hamas.
“Following the completion of the identification process by the National Center of Forensic Medicine, in coordination with the Israel Police and the Military Rabbinate, IDF representatives informed the family of the abducted fallen soldier, Sergeant Itay Chen, that their loved one has been returned to Israel and positively identified,” the statement said.
“The Government of Israel shares in the deep sorrow of the Chen family and of all the families of the abducted fallen. The government and the entire security and intelligence apparatus of the State of Israel are determined, committed, and working tirelessly to bring all our abducted fallen back for proper burial in their homeland.” (Read more)

2. Israel Says It Received Body of Another Deceased Hostage From Hamas in Gaza

Israel on Tuesday received a body from the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas via the Red Cross in Gaza that would be transported to Israel for identification, the Israeli Prime Minister’s office said, after Hamas said it had located the remains of a hostage to be returned to Israel.
Hamas said it had found the body of a hostage who had been held by Palestinian terrorists in Shejaia, an eastern suburb of Gaza City in an area still occupied by Israeli forces, after Israel granted access to the location for teams from Hamas and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Under a ceasefire deal that took effect on Oct. 10, Hamas turned over all 20 living hostages held in Gaza in return for nearly 2,000 Palestinian convicts and wartime detainees held in Israel. Hamas also promised to turn over the remains of deceased hostages but says Gaza‘s war devastation has made locating bodies difficult. Israel accuses Hamas of stalling. (Read more)

4. Israel, India sign defense pact to boost strategic ties - JNS
Israel and India signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to expand defense, industrial and technology cooperation during high-level talks on Tuesday, the Israeli Ministry of Defense announced.
The annual meeting of the bilateral Joint Working Group was led by Israel’s Defense Ministry director general, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram and Indian Defense Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh. As part of the visit, the Indian delegation also met Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and attended a forum with CEOs of Israeli defense firms focused on strengthening industrial-defense ties.
The agreement, signed by Baram and Singh, aims to deepen collaboration in defense manufacturing, research and technology, officials said. (Read more)

Foreign ministers from eight Muslim nations attended a consultative meeting in Istanbul on Monday to discuss implementing the Gaza peace plan, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said.

Several polling places in New Jersey were moved on Tuesday due to threats, according to the state attorney general.
New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin (D) said in a statement, "Early this morning, law enforcement responded to threats that were received by email involving certain polling places in Bergen, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Passaic Counties.
"Law enforcement officers have responded at each affected polling place, and they have worked swiftly to secure these polling locations and ensure the safety of every voter. Some of these polling locations have already reopened to the public. At others, voters will be directed to a nearby polling location to cast their ballot." (Read more)

We thank You Father that the law enforcement has been vigilant about ensuring access to voting for all people in New Jersey and verifying that the threats were only noise without danger. Bless them. We rebuke those who sent these menacing emails to polling places and pray for their exposure and prosecution. We also pray that this will serve to bring the person of God's choice to victory, in Jesus's name.

2. Comey Boomerang: Ex-director confronted with personal emails, notes after playing victim card - Just the News
James Comey played the victim card in fighting his indictment on charges of misleading Congress, but that strategy boomeranged when prosecutors and his old agency released an avalanche of new evidence showing the ex-FBI director hoped to please Hillary Clinton, cheered on media leaks he claimed he did not sanction, and wrote emails and notes that directly conflict with his past congressional testimony.
"Perhaps you can make him smarter,” Comey wrote in one such email to FBI special government employee Daniel Richman in which the two discussed trying to influence a New York Times reporter about his coverage of the Clinton email scandal.
Prosecutors made clear such evidence will be used to try to show at trial that Comey misled Congress when he denied authorizing staff to anonymously leak or talk to reporters. (Read more)

Just Judge, we thank You for allowing the revelation of all these critical documents that show that James Comey played fast and loose with truth. We pray for justice to come to him and all who have acted in like manner and deed, in the name of Jesus. We ask that every unrighteous operation that harmed innocent people will be recompensed. We pray further that no corrupt judges or attorneys will be able to grant favors or protect those who have committed crimes, in Jesus's name.

3. Capitol Police repeatedly used lethal force on protesters early on Jan., video shows - The Blaze
In the span of less than 10 minutes after a huge crowd of protesters filled the U.S. Capitol West Plaza beneath the inauguration stage on Jan. 6, Capitol Police repeatedly used lethal force on the crowd, targeting people in the head, neck, face, and upper body — actions one use-of-force expert called “criminally negligent.”
During that brief span, at least 16 people were shot with kinetic-impact projectiles, including nine who took shots to the top of the head, face, and base of the neck, according to Capitol Police surveillance video obtained by Blaze News.
Waldow also said he gave “repeated warnings” to the crowd to disperse or face chemical munitions, but video shows he did not have a bullhorn, and no warnings could be heard on ground-level video or the USCP surveillance video. (Read more)

Heavenly Father, we pray for the full measure of justice to be released and restitution be made to the hundreds of our fellow citizens who have been so cruelly mistreated, injured, or worse because of the wickedness that descended upon our capitol city on that day, in Jesus's holy name. We pray for every person involved in perpetrating these crimes to repent of their evil actions and turn to Jesus for salvation. We know You are the God of justice, so we trust You and thank You for allowing these horrible actions to be brought to a rightful and just conclusion, in Jesus's name.

King Jesus, we pray for Kathleen Willey, a woman who courageously spoke out about being abused by a man in power. We can see now that the deep state was already actively protecting him while disregarding her Constitutional right to security in her own person. We pray for people now to stand up on Kathleen's behalf and help save her house and that she can see the love of Jesus drawing her into the Kingdom of God. We pray also for a job and great grace to overwhelm her life, in Jesus's mighty name.

5. Poll: 52% of voters want Biden's aides prosecuted over autopen use - Just the News
Rasmussen Reports released a poll on Monday that found 52% of voters believe Biden's aides should face criminal prosecution for unauthorized actions during his administration, with 32% who disagreed and 17% who were unsure.
Broken down by party, 75% of Republicans, 36% of Democrats, and 44% of unaffiliated voters said that Biden’s aides should be criminally prosecuted.
The poll follows the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform's report last week that concluded, “as President Biden’s [mental and physical] condition deteriorated, his aides exercised presidential authority and facilitated executive actions without his direct authorization, including misusing the autopen and failing to properly document decision-making processes.” (Read More)

Mighty One, thank You that more and more people across this nation are waking up to the fact that there was wrong-doing under the Biden administration and are pushing back on maintaining the status quo. We pray for there to be a ground-swell of citizens demanding that the unauthorized actions performed by "aides" be rescinded and prosecuted, in Jesus's name.
"'Am I a God near at hand,' says the Lord, 'And not a God afar off? Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?' says the Lord; 'Do I not fill heaven and earth?' says the Lord." (Jeremiah 23:23-24)

6. WATCH: BBC caught in serious lie about President Trump - WND
A new internal report regarding the British Broadcasting Corp. confirms that its officials lied about President Donald Trump when reporting on the Jan. 6, 2021, speech to a crowd of fans.
That was the day that some of those fans walked to the Capitol to protest what they viewed as the wrongful election of Joe Biden.
But according to the Daily Mail, a new "damning internal report" confirms that the BBC "manipulated" statements "to make it appear as though he encouraged his supporters to break into the Capitol."

We pray that just like the BBC, all other broadcast agencies would also be caught red-handed in their deceptive manipulations of the truth, in Jesus's name. May there be sufficiently unpleasant consequences for those who engage in the practice of prevarication so that they may repent. Father, we pray for integrity and honesty to once again be welcomed and expected in our cultural exchanges; in person, in the media, in government and in education, in the name of Jesus.

7. Watchdog Group Director Claims UNRWA Employees, Teachers, Social Workers Took Part in October 7th Massacre - CBN
JERUSALEM, Israel – The United Nations Relief & Works Agency (UNRWA) states on its website that its goal is to help young students in Palestinian Authority areas understand the world in which they live and learn values of tolerance, cultural identity, and gender equality..
His organization learned that "numerous UNRWA employees, including teachers and social workers," were part of the October 7th, 2023, Hamas massacre.
Neuer added, "We knew that many of the teachers were regularly inciting antisemitism, jihadi murder in the name of Allah, praise for Adolph Hitler, and other kinds of incitement for ten years."
Yet, when U.N. Watch began to research the educators during the war, they found the situation was worse than they had suspected. (Read more)

Lord of Heaven and Earth, we ask forgiveness for the wickedness carried out by this UN agency that operated with extensive and unmonitored financial support from the US. Holy One, we pray for ramifications to spiral out from this agency into the greater UN, resulting in both serious consequences and a purifying fire within the UN, in the name of Jesus.

Republican senators say the FBI, under Jack Smith’s Jan. 6 “Arctic Frost” probe, pulled toll records (who called whom, when) for at least eight GOP senators and one House member. The metadata mapped relationships, pressure points, strategy. If you think that’s business as usual, remember: these were sitting lawmakers. The appearance of partisan targeting erodes trust in equal justice. Smith already pursued sweeping data on Trump’s X account in 2023; now we learn GOP members were in the dragnet too. Whether you call it “legal process” or “lawfare with a subpoena,” it pushes the line between legitimate inquiry and political surveillance. When process becomes punishment, the Republic starts wobbling.
We’ve seen this movie. The DOJ Inspector General’s 2019 report documented at least 17 “significant errors or omissions” in the Carter Page (Obama, Hillary Clinton) FISA warrants—an ugly chapter where a national-security tool bled into domestic politics. FISA is meant to be “scrupulously accurate,” because it’s so intrusive. It wasn’t. Those failures didn’t spark a cultural reset toward restraint; instead, the surveillance state kept growing tentacles: geofence warrants, platform dragnets, and now legislative metadata. VP Vance shares challenges of mixed-faith marriage: 'We've decided to raise our kids Christian'

Vice President JD Vance says he's raising his children in the Christian faith, despite being part of a mixed-faith family.
Vance said his wife, Usha, who was born in California to Telugu Indian immigrant parents, "did not grow up Christian." Vance said his wife, Usha, who was born in California to Telugu Indian immigrant parents, "did not grow up Christian."
"I think it's fair to say that she grew up in a Hindu family, but not a particularly religious family in either direction," Vance added. "In fact, when I met my wife, we were both, I would have considered myself an agnostic or an atheist, and that's what I think she would have considered herself as well."
Vance shared how he and the second lady have decided to make the Christian faith the foundation of their kids' upbringing.
"We've decided to raise our kids Christian," he explained. "Our two oldest kids who go to school, they go to a Christian school. Our 8-year-old did his first communion about a year ago. That's the way that we have come to our arrangement."
While acknowledging that navigating a mixed-faith marriage requires commitment, communication and grace, Vance said his marriage is no different than that of his friends who are in Protestant and Catholic marriages or even, as he put it, "atheist and Christian marriages," saying it requires communication.
"The only advice I can give is, you just got to talk to the person that God has put you with and you've got to make those decisions as a family unit," he said, adding that on most Sundays, Usha will join him and the rest of the family at church — even if she's not yet a Christian.
"Do I hope eventually that she is somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved by in church? Yeah, I honestly do wish that, because I believe in the Christian Gospel and I hope eventually my wife comes to see it the same way," said Vance. "But if she doesn't, then God says everybody has free will and so that doesn't cause a problem for me." (The Christian Post) Read more here.

Iran said on Saturday that although it is prepared to engage in talks about its nuclear ambitions, its missile program is not up for discussion.
“We are ready to talk to address concerns about our nuclear program. We emphasize the peaceful nature of our nuclear program. It is possible to reach a fair agreement, but Washington has set impossible and unacceptable preconditions,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Al Jazeera.

‘Massive Fraud’ Uncovered in Food Stamp Program, Says Agriculture Secretary as Benefits Lapse

Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins on Sunday said that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or food stamps, is “a broken and corrupt program,” after benefits lapsed over the weekend due to the government shutdown.
In an interview with Fox News, Rollins said that while the Trump administration is moving to get the program restarted, 21 states refused to hand over data to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on whether illegal immigrants were receiving these benefits. Thousands of cases of illegal benefit use were also found, dozens were arrested for SNAP fraud, and thousands of dead people were still receiving benefits, she said.
“And guess what? In just the states that cooperated, we’ve already uncovered massive fraud,” she wrote in a post on X on Sunday.
After the second Trump administration took over, the Department of Agriculture (USDA) launched an investigation into SNAP fraud and abuse, said Rollins. She said her department asked all 50 states to send in data to the government for a review but 21 states did not.
Rollins suggested that if certain SNAP benefits are cut off, illegal immigrants will self-deport and added that it would change the outcome of the Census, causing House districts to be redrawn.
The Department of Agriculture planned to withhold payments to the food program starting Saturday until two federal judges ordered the administration to make the payments. It was unclear when the debit cards that beneficiaries use would be reloaded after the ruling. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Scientists detect biggest black hole flare ever seen — with the power of 10 trillion suns
|

The star causing this flare is not yet fully devoured: "Like a fish only halfway down the whale's gullet."
Astronomers have spotted the biggest flare ever seen erupting around a black hole, which also happens to be the most distant flare of this type ever detected.
Discovered using the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF), the flare erupted from the supermassive black hole at the heart of an Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN) designated J2245+3743 and located in the center of a galaxy 10 billion light-years away from Earth. AGNs are central regions of galaxies that are dominated by feeding, or "accreting," supermassive black holes.
The supermassive black hole in J2245+3743 is feeding on surrounding gas and dust whirling around it in a flattened cloud shape called an accretion disk, but this flare is actually the result of something else: an unusually massive star venturing too close to the black hole which has a mass 500 million times greater than the sun). The tremendous gravitational influence of the black hole is ripping apart the star, and its stellar remains are being fed to this cosmic titan — an occurrence scientists call a tidal disruption event, or TDE.
"This is unlike any AGN we've ever seen," Matthew Graham, team leader at theCalifornia Institute of Technology (Caltech) and a ZTF scientist, said in a statement. "The energetics show this object is very far away and very bright."
The flare was first spotted in 2018 by the ZTF, with astronomers watching as it brightened by a factor of 40 over the course of a few months. At its peak, the flare was 30 times brighter than any prior black hole flare, emitting as much energy as 10 trillion suns. The previous most powerful TDE was the event nicknamed "Scary Barbie," which comes from its official designation ZTF20abrbeie. (Space.com) Read More
