Ministers See Faith Revival in Wake of TPUSA Founder's Assassination
|
|
A California pastor who was close friends with Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk is seeing a spiritual revival after Kirk was assassinated on September 10. Calvary Chapel Chino Hills Pastor Jack Hibbs told “Fox and Friends First” recently that people are asking his church for answers, the outlet reported on Sunday. “People are coming to us, and they are saying, ‘I want to know the meaning of life, the purpose. Why am I here?’” he said. The Fox report said people are calling the movement the “Charlie Kirk Effect.”
Kirk was fatally shot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University, and his murder sent shockwaves across the nation and the world with many people mourning the Christian conservative and free speech advocate’s death. In addition, Matt Zerrusen of Newman Ministry which supports numerous campus ministries, said some schools have reported a 15 percent increase in young people attending Mass.
The day after Kirk was killed, Hibbs said Kirk was a faithful witness for Jesus Christ and never hesitated to share the gospel with people, according to Breitbart News. He stated, “I have had the honor of knowing Charlie Kirk well and personally for many years now. I cannot express how incredibly proud I have been of his faithful Christian witness and the way he has honored the Lord Jesus Christ with his life. Charlie was known as an intellectual giant, a very compassionate young man, and one who was tirelessly devoted to this nation’s welfare and our glorious republic. Hegseth instates 'highest male standard only' for combat, other changes, declaring
Dept of Defense 'is over'
|

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced on Tuesday that all combat personnel would be required to meet the highest male standard in order to maintain their positions.
Hegseth said the department must "restore a ruthless, dispassionate and commonsense application of standards."
"We're training warriors, not defenders. We fight wars to win, not to defend. Defense is something you do all the time, it's inherently reactionary and can lead to overuse, overreach, and mission creep. War is something you do sparingly, on our own terms and with clear aims," Hegseth said as he spoke Tuesday morning at Marine Corps Base Quantico.
"We fight to win. We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy," he continued. "We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement, just common sense, maximum lethality and authority for warfighters."
The secretary said that now, "every member of the joint force at every rank is required to take a test twice a year, as well as meet height and weight requirements twice a year, every year of service." Additionally, members of the joint force will be required to do PT [physical training] every duty day, something Hegseth said is standard in many units but would be officially codified.
"If the Secretary of War can do regular hard PT, so can every member of our joint force," he said.
Hegseth railed against "fat troops" and "fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon," arguing that physical standards for American service members had eroded, and it was time to raise the bar. (Fox News) Read more here

White House declares imminent government shutdown after Senate fails to pass funding bill
|
|
The White House has officially declared an imminent government shutdown after the Senate failed to pass a GOP-backed spending bill to keep federal agencies funded through Nov. 21.
A memo issued by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) said current federal funding levels "expire at 11:59 p.m. tonight."
"Unfortunately, Democrat senators are blocking passage of H.R. 5371 in the Senate due to Democrats' insane policy demands, which include $1 trillion in new spending," the memo said.
The memo went on to say that President Donald Trump is supportive of the GOP-led funding bill, which is a short-term extension of current federal spending levels called a continuing resolution (CR), aimed at keeping the government funded for seven weeks as lawmakers work on a deal for fiscal year (FY) 2026 priorities.
The GOP-led CR was tanked in the Senate on Tuesday evening, failing to reach the chamber's 60-vote threshold to overcome a filibuster and proceed with debate on the bill. The vote fell 55–45, with three members of the Democratic caucus crossing the aisle and voting with Republicans.
One Republican, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., voted against the measure.
Democratic lawmakers in the upper chamber, led by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., banded together to vote against the GOP’s CR, a move that marked the second time Democrats impeded the legislation’s progress this month. (Fox News)

We declare that we will not go backwards to the financial mismanagement of the Biden era, in Jesus's name. We also lift up the people affected by this shutdown and ask that You would give them peace and watch over them in this forced vacation period. Coastal flooding, rough surf to be Hurricane Imelda's main US threats
|

|
The core of Imelda will miss the U.S. coast thanks to high pressure and Hurricane Humberto, but the new hurricane will still trigger dangerous surf, rip currents, and coastal flooding from Florida to the Northeast.

People in the southeastern United States have Hurricane Humberto and high pressure over the Northeast to thank for Imelda's upcoming right turn to sea this week. However, the two hurricanes and the high will combine forces to bring long-lasting rough surf, dangerous rip currents and coastal flooding.
As expected, Imelda strengthened to a hurricane on Tuesday morning while east of Florida.
High pressure building over the Northeast will block Hurricane Imelda's northward path this week. Instead of the storm tracking inland over the Southeastern states as originally feared, Hurricane Humberto, tracking northwest of Bermuda, will give Imelda a tug and help steer it away from the U.S. at midweek.
As of Monday afternoon, Tropical Storm Imelda had sustained winds of 60 mph. As of Tuesday mid-afternoon Imelda's sustained winds reached 85 mph, making it a solid Category 1 hurricane.
"This is a case where the rare Fujiwhara Effect will help steer Imelda away from the U.S.," AccuWeather Lead Hurricane Expert Alex DaSilva said.
The Fujiwhara Effect is the interaction of two tropical systems that causes both to dance around each other like a spinning teacup amusement park ride or ballroom dancers moving in unison. (See more,including other maps, here.)

- Bless You Abba, for intervening on these hurricanes and we ask that they both go harmlessly out to sea with no destruction in their wake. We pray for people to heed warnings and be wise about respecting the water, in Jesus's name. We also pray down every future hurricane planned for these waters this year and declare they will fizzle out and be driven right out to sea without destruction, because of the power and might of the name of Jesus.

Trump, Netanyahu Vow To Destroy Hamas if Peace Deal Is Rejected
|
|
In a joint press conference yesterday, President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised that Israel would destroy Hamas if it did not accept a peace deal.
Trump on Monday released his 20-point plan for Gaza, which Netanyahu said he supported during a press conference following their Oval Office meeting.
Trump warned that if Hamas doesn’t also accept the peace plan, Netanyahu has his support to destroy the militant group.
“Israel would have my full backing to finish the job of destroying the threat of Hamas, but I hope that we’re going to have a deal for peace. And if Hamas rejects the deal, which is always possible… as you know, Bibi, you’d have our full backing to do what you would have to do,” Trump said.
This would not be the first time President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu have attempted to reach a peaceful agreement with Hamas. However, previous attempts were cut short by Hamas, as the group would back out of agreements at the last moment.
This press conference came just over a week before October 7. On that day two years ago, Hamas terrorists stormed across Israel’s border, killing over a thousand Jews and taking over 200 hostage. In the years since, Israel has waged war against Hamas and other terrorist groups. Throughout the conflict, Netanyahu has maintained he has two goals: recover the hostages and ensure that Hamas can never threaten Israel again.
It is unclear whether Hamas will accept this deal, but it would seem that, even if they decline, this war may soon come to a close regardless. Let’s thank God for giving us a President who boldly stands behind Israel, and let’s pray for His chosen nation as it wars against terror in the Middle East!

1. WATCH: At congressional hearing, crime victim's father unleashes on lawmakers - WND
The father of a crime victim has unleashed at a congressional hearing on those who tolerate career criminals on America's streets.
It's becoming more and more common, under agendas perpetrated on America by elected and appointed Democrats in recent years, for criminals to be allowed back on the streets after being charged, even multiple times.
One case involves career criminal Alexander Davante Dickey, "who was arrested 39 … times, 25 felonies," who allegedly executed a 22-year-old woman, Logan Federico, while she was visiting friends at the University of South Carolina, according to reports. (Read more)

We pray for Your justice to be released in full measure upon our nation's justice system. 2. Justice Department Suing Minnesota for Sanctuary Policies That Protect Criminal Illegal Aliens - Breitbart
The DOJ’s lawsuit includes the state of Minnesota as well as Minneapolis, St. Paul, Hennepin County, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna S. Witt, specifically. Overall, the DOJ asserts that the various sanctuary policies of these individual entities are interfering with the federal government’s work to identify and remove dangerous illegal aliens from U.S. communities. This includes a blatant refusal to work with federal law enforcement who are working to do just that.
This willful lack of coordination, according to the press release, has resulted in “the release of dangerous criminals from police custody who would otherwise be subject to removal, including illegal aliens convicted of aggravated assault, burglary, and drug and human trafficking, onto the streets.”
Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement that officials in Minnesota are “jeopardizing the safety of their own citizens by allowing illegal aliens to circumvent the legal process.” (Read more here)

We know that there will be many accusations and harsh reactions, but we pray for the strength of righteousness for the Justice Department to stand without fear and bring justice to this state and the leaders, in Jesus's name. We pray for no more crimes against citizens and call for an end to the sanctuary city policy of obstruction against our government and constitution, in Jesus's holy name.

3. Dearborn Residents Clash With City Council Over Mosque's Early Morning Call to Prayer -Townhall
A week ago, the mayor of Dearborn, Michigan, chastised residents who objected to renaming a street after a terrorist supporter. As Townhall's Jeff Charles reported at the time:
During a September 9 city council meeting, Ted Barhman spoke out against the decision to name a street after Osama Siblani, who has made comments in support of the terrorist group. "I feel like having that sign up there is almost like naming a street Hezbollah Street or Hamas Street. Hezbollah bombed the embassy in Beirut, including many Americans. I just feel it’s quite inappropriate," he said, according to Fox 2 Detroit.
And now Dearborn residents are dealing with another conflict: the Islamic call to prayer.
City ordinance says loudspeakers cannot be used between 10 pm and 7 am, and limits intermittent noise to 55 decibels overnight and 60 decibels during the day.
But the clash between Islamic city councils and non-Muslim residents will not end there. There is a significant incompatibility between the two, and Dearborn is a prime example of that. (Read more here)

4. 'All are welcome'? Islamists tell Christian pastor to go away after airport invites him to public chapel - WND
A Christian pastor who was invited to a publicly funded prayer chapel at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport has confirmed he went there, but was told to go away. It's because Islamists had taken over the facility and were allowing no one else to use the tax-paid room.
The airport now is "under scrutiny" for the incident involving Ascol, who had traveled to the state to visit the grieving family of his close friend, Voddie Baugham, a widely respected pastor who died at 56 last week following a medical emergency.
"The incident has reignited concerns about the growing trend of Islamic dominance over shared public and religious spaces in Texas," the report said.
The foundation noted that it earlier documented how the Orlando International Airport spent more than $250,000 in taxes to build "gender-segregated Islamic prayer rooms." (Read more)

5. PTSD cited for suspect in church attack that left at least 4 dead - WND
Post traumatic stress disorder is being cited as a possible contributing factor for a now-dead suspect who is accused of ramming his truck into a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building in Michigan, shooting at congregants and setting the structure of fire.
It was Fox News that noted adults responded by protecting children in the facility during the attack.
The Daily Mail confirmed a family friend explained that the suspect, a military veteran, had battled the after-effects of trauma.
"It's hard to feel sad for someone who did something so terrible, and I still feel sad. I had heard through family events that he had had PTSD," the friend reported. "He would make comments occasionally and it was something that was kind of talked about. It wasn't talked about in depth… so I don't know the depth of his issues." (Read more)

Jesus, Savior of all mankind, we pray for the body of Christ to grow in tools and strategies to deal with the mental health issues taking place in our nation and most particularly amongst our veterans. Holy One, Your people are the ones who are most likely to change a culture because we carry Your Kingdom within us. May we reach beyond our walls to love the lost, the broken, the hurting, the perverse ones, because You first loved them–when You created them, when You breathed on them and now in their sin, You have not stopped. 6. Former Friend of North Carolina Shooter Says He Tried to Warn People Suspect Was Suffering Mentally: ‘This Was 100 Percent Predictable’ - The Gateway Pundit
As the Gateway Pundit reported over the weekend, a young man named Nigel Max Edge was arrested and charged with three counts of first degree murder after opening fire on the American Fish Company restaurant dock in the North Carolina coastal town of Southport.
Edge is a Marine veteran who served in Iraq. Unfortunately, he was battling some personal demons.
One of his former friends is now speaking out and saying that he tried to get help for the man and that his warnings to authorities went unheeded.
It’s a tragic reminder that we have a serious mental health crisis in the country right now. (Read more)

In every way there is failure of a system that was designed to protect innocent people and provide a safety net for those in crisis to keep them from harming others or themselves. We pray for every family that has been devastated by the actions of this veteran and ask You O King, to comfort and hold each one close to Your heart, showing them Your great lovingkindness, mercy and redemption. When The Only Solution is Badmouthing

Democratic leadership is specializing in scolding, not solving. Every Trump initiative—from student visas to executive powers—becomes a target for sharp rhetoric, yet rarely do they roll out a coherent plan in response. Worse, recent headlines highlight Democrat-appointed judges refusing to jail a Rhode Island man accused of threatening to kill Donald Trump, Pam Bondi, and Stephen Miller. Instead of detention, he was released with an ankle monitor pending trial. Stories like this are proof positive that Democratic leaders are more interested in grandstanding than providing solutions. Loud speeches and courtroom leniency don’t build trust; they reinforce the image of a party that has nothing to offer.
Even the Democratic National Committee is leaning further into spectacle. Chair Ken Martin, speaking on MSNBC, openly suggested Democrats “shouldn’t play by the rules anymore” and floated the idea of shutting down the government over the deployment of National Guard troops in Washington, DC. It was a striking admission: abandon norms because you don’t like the current occupant of the White House. That may fire up the progressive (communist) base, but it hardly inspires confidence in ordinary voters. It projects recklessness, not responsibility, and underscores the point that the party has prioritized theater over tangible policy. Forgotten medieval kingdom's grand castle emerges after decades of research in Scotland
|
|
|
Archaeologists recently announced the discovery of a grand castle affiliated with a long-forgotten medieval kingdom and nestled on an island in Scotland.
The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland announced the discovery, nearly 30 years in the making, on Sept. 17.
The discovery was made at the Finlaggan archaeological site on Islay, according to the BBC. Islay, a remote island off Scotland's western coast, is roughly 70 miles west of Glasgow.
Archaeologist David Caldwell directed excavations of the site between 1989 and 1998. In his recently published findings, he argued that Finlaggan was a power seat for the Lordship of the Isles, a semi-independent Gaelic kingdom during the late Middle Ages.
The gem of the project? A previously unknown and unnamed castle at Finlaggan that dates to the 12th and 13th centuries.
Recently released photos show the stone foundations and cobbled surfaces of the ancient castle, preserved beneath soil for several hundred years.
Officials also released an artist's reconstruction of the castle, featuring a stone tower and a causeway, or bridge, connecting two small islands. (Fox News) Read More
