Critically Wounded Neriyah Leiter Begins Breathing on His Own
Remains Unconscious After Terror Attack

Neriyah Leiter, the IDF reservist and son of Israel’s Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter who suffered a severe brain injury in a terrorist ramming attack two weeks ago, has begun breathing on his own in an encouraging development, his father revealed Wednesday.
While Neriyah remains unconscious and his condition continues to be extremely serious, the latest update marks a significant improvement from just days ago, when Ambassador Leiter said his son remained on life support following emergency brain surgery. “Neria has severe head injuries, but in recent days he has begun breathing on his own. He is still unconscious.”
Neriyah was critically wounded on Sept. 23 when a Palestinian terrorist rammed him with a vehicle near the Maccabim checkpoint on Route 443. The terrorist was subsequently shot and killed by IDF soldiers at the scene. Neriyah was rushed unconscious to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Yerushalayim, where doctors performed hours of emergency brain surgery and other procedures. The hospital said following the operation that his condition remained extremely serious and that his life was in danger.

Trump in Maryland Announces Construction of 'Largest New Shipyard' in U.S.
|

President Donald Trump traveled to Sparrows Point, Maryland, on Tuesday to announce construction of Arsenal-2, which he said will be the largest new shipyard in the United States.
Anduril Industries, founded by Palmer Luckey, is investing $3.7 billion, and the U.S. Navy is contributing $2.9 billion in Sparrows Point, where the next generation of American submarines will be built.
“Today, we’re officially launching the construction of the largest new shipyard in the United States—this is since World War II. There’s been nothing like what we’re doing today,” Trump said.
“Along these very shores, American tradesmen built one of the first frigates in the U.S. Navy, they forged the steel that built the Empire State Building and the Golden Gate Bridge, and this is where the patriots of Baltimore built the first-ever Liberty ship in the Second World War,” he added.
Trump detailed the submarines that will be constructed at Sparrow’s Point,
“Right here in Sparrows Point, you’ll build the next generation of American submarines, including autonomous subs, torpedo tubes, and critical components for our cutting-edge Virginia-class attack submarines-the greatest and quietest ever built,” he said.

“Thanks to record funding from my administration, the Republicans in Congress, the U.S. Navy is also contributing an additional $2.9 billion to support the shipyard, with the possibility of ultimately, together with a lot of great patriots, $21 billion in future purchases,” he continued.
The president estimated that the work will create more than 3,100 jobs in the Old Line State, and support 11,000 more around the country. According to Anduril, Sparrows Point is expected to drive $2 billion in annual economic output, including $312 million in wages.

Trump Administration Announces More Than $17 Million for New Mental Health Clinics, Mobile Crisis Teams, and Expanded Addiction Treatment in North Carolina

Today, the Trump Administration announced more than $17 million in Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) funding to expand mental health and substance use disorder services for North Carolina’s rural residents. The funding will support new behavioral health clinics, opioid treatment access, crisis response, early intervention, and perinatal behavioral healthcare across rural communities.
This transformational funding will deliver $4 million for three new mental health clinics; $3 million to expand access to medications for opioid use disorder through stationary medication units in five counties; and $4 million to send mobile crisis teams to six additional counties, bringing in-home support directly to children and families in crisis for up to eight weeks to help kids stay with their families and reduce hospital or residential placements. An additional $6.7 million will help young people get early support when they first start experiencing serious mental health symptoms, build regional partnerships so communities can respond faster to crisis, and give new and expecting mothers in underserved areas better access to mental health care.
The Rural Health Transformation Program is expanding access to quality healthcare, regardless of a patient’s zip code, and equipping first responders with the lifesaving resources they need when every second counts. This funding will make critical investments to strengthen rural healthcare, expand access to lifesaving services, and bring modern technology to communities across North Carolina.
“President Trump understands that every American deserves high-quality healthcare, no matter where they live,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Some of President Donald Trump’s most frequent media critics are turning on Democrats’ latest attack on the president, rejecting claims that Trump suggested Iran should "take out" Los Angeles and San Diego.
"Trump's point here is that if he didn't start a war with Iran, then San Diego and LA would be at risk from nuclear war," wrote The Atlantic writer Michael Scherer on X.
Trump was discussing the war with Iran and the threat of Tehran obtaining a nuclear weapon during a Nebraska rally on Monday before invoking Los Angeles and San Diego.

Hurricane Isaias’ devastating aftermath comes into focus in striking images

Communities are beginning to assess the damage left behind by a powerful hurricane that tore through the region, leaving homes damaged, roads flooded and neighborhoods littered with debris.
Photos from some of the hardest-hit areas show the scale of the destruction as residents and emergency crews begin the long process of cleaning up and rebuilding.
Isaias slammed into the Florida Panhandle near Destin on Friday, Oct. 9, as a Category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph, bringing destructive winds, dangerous storm surge and widespread flooding.
The hurricane tore roofs from buildings, uprooted trees and knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of customers across Florida and Alabama before pushing inland.
Isaias marked the first hurricane to make landfall along the U.S. Gulf Coast since Hurricane Milton battered Florida in October 2024, nearly two years earlier.
The storm also became the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season, ending an unusually quiet stretch that saw no hurricanes develop until October. (Fox News) Go here.

“We know the trap we have set for Israel by demanding a two-state solution,” Basel Abu Shahab, secretary of the Fatah movement in the Burj al-Shemali refugee camp in Lebanon, told Palestine TV, adding that Israel “has reason to fear us.”
Abu Shahab, the son of Fatah Maj.-Gen. Jalal Abu Shehab, widely known as Abu Basel, said in the interview over the weekend that within 20 years of a Palestinian state being established, it could develop an aircraft industry and an industrial sector capable of rivaling Israel’s, giving it the “components of a state capable of confronting Israel.”

2. Mass casualty incident in explosion near Israel's northern border - Israel Hayom
Approximately 20 people were casualties of an explosion Monday on Ramim Ridge in the Galilee Panhandle in northern Israel. One person was killed and two others were seriously injured.
The victims were part of a group of teachers and students on a field trip in the area who were apparently injured when an unexploded munition detonated. The IDF is investigating whether the unexploded munition was a Hezbollah cluster bomb.
According to the initial investigation, one of the hikers apparently found the unexploded munition and placed it in a backpack. The device detonated some time later, causing the tragedy. (Read more)

Israel needs a larger and stronger police force to tackle the country’s challenges, said President Isaac Herzog in an interview this week, lamenting the surge in homicides within the Arab community and the daily attacks by settler extremists against Palestinians in the West Bank.
In a pre-recorded interview, aired on Monday at a conference for the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, Herzog said: “Our police force, which is doing the best it can, but this country is a little bit beyond their capacity. We need a stronger police force — and a much larger one, because there are so many challenges here.”
“Crime in Arab society is a disaster,” he said. “We’re talking about a huge number of citizens — more than 1.3 million people living under terror, day and night.” (Read more)

4. Netanyahu seeks Saudi approval for Israeli strikes on Houthis in Yemen - report

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pushing for Israel to be allowed to strike Houthi targets in Yemen, according to a diplomatic source quoted by Haaretz on Monday.
According to the report, Netanyahu is pushing through US mediators to secure Saudi Arabia's permission for Israel to intervene in the decade-old conflict.
The goal is for Israel to "join forces" with Saudi Arabia and develop the relationship to pave the way for a future normalization agreement.
However, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) has been reluctant to permit Israeli intervention in the war, reportedly believing that it would play poorly with the Saudi public. (Read more)

5. Supreme Court orders IDF to let residents return to terror Camps

The Supreme Court ordered the IDF to present a timetable for allowing residents of the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams "Refugee" Camps to return to their homes, despite an IDF statement that the security conditions necessary for the residents' return have not yet been met.
The ruling was handed down in response to a petition submitted by Arabs in the area against the IDF Central Command, the Defense Minister, and the National Security Minister.

Iran has preserved its missile and drone factories and can replenish its supply of the weapons, unnamed Western officials told Bloomberg in a Saturday report, with one official saying Russia was also providing the Islamic Republic with missiles.
The report comes amid ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran, and just days after American media reported that the US military had been told to plan a return to conflict, reportedly asking for several days of intensive strikes on Iranian energy sites as well as missile and drone arsenals. Trump himself has said that the US will not strike Iran before the November 3 US midterm elections.
According to Bloomberg, Iran has spent the last several months of relative quiet to rearm and rebuild its damaged weapons industry, with officials telling the outlet that the country remains “well-stocked” with both ballistic missiles and anti-ship weapons, and can “quickly add more.”
The officials said Iran has enough firepower to effectively retaliate if the US renews strikes against it. One official said that Moscow is providing Tehran with missiles. The Russian Defense Ministry did not respond to a request for comment from Bloomberg. (Read more)

2. IDF launches review of heroic acts by soldiers on Oct. 7 to select honors recipients - Times of Israel
The IDF on Thursday said it was formally launching a review of soldiers’ heroism during the Hamas-led onslaught of October 7, 2023, to determine recipients of military commendations and decorations.
“The process aims to properly recognize the extraordinary acts of heroism carried out during the fighting and to preserve their legacy for future generations,” the IDF said, adding that bereaved families were notified ahead of the launch.
The move could signify that the army considers the war, which began three years ago with the invasion and massacre in southern Israel, to be over. Historically, the medals have been awarded to soldiers after wars conclude.
Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir first announced plans for the review last year.
Commanders conducting the review will hold a conference on Wednesday next week headed by Personnel Directorate chief Maj. Gen. Dado Bar Kalifa and Military Court of Appeals president Maj. Gen. Orly Markman, according to the IDF. (Read more)

3. Hamas Rakes in Up to $5 Million Daily in Gaza While Rearming, Plotting Soldier Abductions, Israeli Reports Say - The Algemeiner
Hamas is generating as much as $5 million a day from goods entering Gaza while rebuilding tunnels, accumulating weapons, and planning possible attacks on Israeli troops, including attempts to kidnap soldiers, according to separate Israeli television reports this week citing security officials.
Neomi Neumann, a former head of research at Israel’s Shin Bet security agency, told the Kan public broadcaster on Thursday that Hamas continues to exercise effective control over Gaza’s population through a decentralized system of taxation, aid distribution, and covert enforcement.
Neumann, now an adjunct fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, estimated that Hamas earns between $2 million and $5 million daily by imposing heavy taxes on goods entering the enclave and exploiting humanitarian assistance.
“Everything that enters the Strip becomes a source of income for Hamas,” Neumann said in the interview. “It confiscates some of the humanitarian aid and sells the goods at high prices on the black market.” (Read more)

4. India detains thousands, locks down Delhi to foil election chief protest - Reuters
NEW DELHI, Oct 10 (Reuters) - Police detained more than 2,000 protesters and the founder of the "Cockroach" youth movement in Delhi on Saturday as security forces locked down parts of the capital to thwart a rally demanding the resignation of India's election chief.
Thousands of police and paramilitary personnel were deployed across the city, mobile internet services were suspended in the central business district and dozens of metro stations and markets were shut as authorities moved to stop a demonstration organised by the Cockroach movement.
The protest was aimed at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over a revision of voter lists that critics say disproportionately benefits Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The movement had planned to gather thousands of people at Jantar Mantar in central Delhi, but the area was sealed off by security forces before the demonstration began.
A home ministry official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters more than 2,000 people were detained in Delhi. Local media said about 400 protesters were held in India's financial hub, Mumbai.

5. Netanyahu orders special task force to combat Jewish violence in Judea and Samaria - Israel Hayom
Israeli diplomatic missions abroad are issuing a steady stream of warnings about the enormous damage to Israel's international image caused by Jewish violence against Palestinians in Judea and Samaria. In one report, a senior diplomat said that "we've run out of explanations." Even community leaders and influential figures who are friendly toward Israel are demanding answers about what is happening, let alone journalists submitting requests for comment accompanied by photographs and video footage from the scene.
The problem is particularly acute in relations with the US administration, which is considered highly supportive of Israel but is increasingly unwilling to accept Jerusalem's explanations. One consequence has been Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's directive to National Security Council head Shmuel Ben Ezra to immediately establish a dedicated task force to coordinate the response to the problem. 6. US imposes sanctions on ICC, hours after Nobel award to former judge - Times of Israel
US President Donald Trump’s administration imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court on Friday, hours after one of its former judges won the Nobel Peace Prize, putting Washington on a diplomatic collision course with European allies. The Trump administration has long been hostile to the court and has previously imposed sanctions on its prosecutors and judges. Friday’s move would go far further, by potentially punishing companies that provide services to the court itself.
“President Trump will never allow the International Criminal Court to prosecute Americans,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement reviewed by Reuters ahead of the official announcement. “That is why, today, the United States is sanctioning the International Criminal Court. We will ban transactions with this rogue court, cutting off their resources and crippling its ability to operate.”
Netanyahu praised Washington’s move. " The ICC is not a court. It is a political body that poses a mortal threat to law-abiding democracies worldwide and to the very idea of national sovereignty,” Netanyahu’s office posted on X. (Read more)

7. Breaking: Ilhan Omar's DC Home Raided by DHS - Western Journal
The Washington, D.C., home of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was raided early Monday morning by Homeland Security Investigations agents, according to a report.
A source told Fox News that HSI carried out a raid in relation to a criminal fraud investigation into Omar’s immigration paperwork.
The paperwork was reportedly filled out by her late father years ago when she was a child.
A Department of Justice spokesperson said the action was part of an ongoing federal investigation. “This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation,” the person said.
The DOJ added, “Today in the Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice.” (Read more)

Let’s begin this week with Genesis 1:1–6:8, Bereshit (In the Beginning). After all, there is no end to the Torah. It lives on in each of us as a “living epistle,” written on our hearts and read by many. Bereshit bara Elohim are the first three words of Scripture, meaning, “In the beginning, God…” From that opening declaration comes the divine Voice that created the whole world. Bereshit shares the Hebrew root associated with rosh, “head,” pointing us toward the Head of all things, the Messiah, the creative Word of God. Colossians 1:16 says that in connection with Him all things in heaven and earth were created, through Him and for Him. Before mankind, before the earth, before time itself, there was God.
Genesis then moves from the origins of creation to the birth of humanity. God formed Adam from the dust of the earth and breathed into his nostrils the “breath of life,” nishmat chayim, and Adam became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). Here we see something remarkable about ourselves. Humanity is fashioned from earthly dust, yet animated by the breath of God. The Hebrew concept of neshamah speaks of that God-given spirit within us. It is the part of us that reaches beyond the flesh toward our Creator. According to apostolic teaching, the human spirit must be brought to life through salvation and the work of the Holy Spirit. Secret Service chief says threats against protectees up 40%, cites internet and mental health

Secret Service leadership detailed the "massive increase" in threats against the presidency and agents in the past year during a special joint interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" on Sunday.
"It's like we've never seen before," Secret Service Director Sean Curran told host Norah O'Donnell. "The threats on our full-time protectees are up just over 40% than they were last year. That's a massive increase."
Curran, along with Deputy Director Matt Quinn, were questioned as to what they believed caused the rise in threats. Curran suggested that the growth of the internet was a factor, but O'Donnell wondered if President Donald Trump also drove the threats.
"President Trump is one of the most polarizing political figures in American history. Is that in some way leading to the increase in these threats?" O'Donnell asked.
"We are an apolitical organization. We're here to protect who we're sworn to protect," Curran answered.
"Look, I would say there's people on both sides of the aisle that either love or hate any president. I think the biggest factor we're dealing with today is mental health issues for sure. And more people are being pushed over the edge in either direction," Quinn added.

Holy Father,
This article by the Secret Service director, Sean Curran, is very disturbing but it is not a surprise. Lord, as the security threats have risen 40% against President Trump and others, we pray for divine protection for him and protection for all the Secret Service agents who put their lives in jeopardy each day.

A Melbourne, Australia, Islamic community center leader on Sunday waved away “false” accusations allegedly linking the center with the co-pilot behind the September 30 attempted hijacking of Flydubai Flight FZ1073.
As Breitbart News reported last week, the Attorney-General of the United Arab Emirates Hamad Saif Al Shamsi announced that investigators uncovered a premeditated terrorist plot intending to crash Flydubai Flight FZ1073 and kill as many people as possible.
On September 30, one of the plane’s co-pilots, 29 year-old Omani national Hamam al-Hammami, stabbed the other in an attempted hijacking. The plane, and its over 170 Israeli passengers, was flying from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Tel Aviv, Israel, at the time of the incident.
Al Shamsi detailed in a statement the suspect intended to “seize control of the aircraft” and use it to carry out a “suicide attack targeting the passenger terminal at Ben Gurion Airport,” with the aim of causing “the greatest possible loss of life.”
The UEA Attorney-General detailed that investigators traced the beginnings of Hammami’s radicalization process to 2017, when he was studying at The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia. Father God, we thank You that, over time, we are now learning about the background of the copilot,Omani national Hamam al-Hammami, and how he became radicalized to carry out his wicked deed on Flydubai Flight FZ1073, intending to kill its 170 Israeli passengers.
Together, we decree to the enemy, "This far and no further," with these vile agendas! We ask that You would cause every evil thing to be revealed so that other radicalized Muslims are found out before they can carry out their own wicked agendas, arrested, and brought to justice.
Finally, O Lord, we praise You for the miracles that came together on the flight, saving many, many lives. In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ our Lord, we offer this prayer, amen and amen!

Trump Says Katie Zacharia Will Start as Press Secretary on Columbus Day

President Trump said Sunday that the new White House press secretary, Katie Zacharia, will hold her first press conference Tuesday.
“I am pleased to announce that Katie Zacharia will be beginning her term as Press Secretary tomorrow, Columbus Day, and will be doing an introductory News Conference on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. from the Press Briefing Room in the White House. Katie has been with me, in spirit, from the very beginning, and will do a fantastic job!” Trump said in a Sunday evening Truth Social post.
Trump recently named Zacharia, a conservative commentator and former Trump Media communications adviser, as the next White House press secretary.
“She was previously involved in my Campaigns, assisting in key Swing States, where we won 7 out of 7. She has an unblemished record of support, and has been a loyal and brilliant supporter, right from the beginning,” the president said in a Truth Social post on Friday.

Divers uncover ancient treasures linked to Roman giant who helped shape American history

A 2,100-year-old shipwreck off the coast of Turkey has revealed thousands of luxury dishes of a type once prized by Cicero, the famed Roman statesman whose writings later influenced America's Founding Fathers — with an expert calling the find "quite rare."
The recovery was recently announced by Turkish officials, the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) reported Sept. 28.
Pictures show divers working among piles of ancient pottery, with ceramic plates and bowls scattered across the sandy seabed.
The artifacts include 122 different forms and sizes of plates, bowls and trays, including dishes used for nuts, soup and fish.
Researchers believe the ship was traveling from Rhosus to Rome when it struck a shallow area during a storm and sank, according to AA. The wreck lies about 138 to 180 feet below the surface.
The discovery is particularly significant because the ceramics are believed to have originated in Rhosus, a production center mentioned in the writings of Cicero — though there's no evidence that the recovered dishes belonged to Cicero himself.
Cicero, one of ancient Rome's most celebrated orators and politicians, significantly influenced the U.S.' Founding Fathers, especially Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. (Fox News) Read More
