ICE receives more than 150K job applications as Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration continues
More than 150,000 “patriotic Americans” have applied to work at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to help the agency carry out migrant deportation arrests, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced Tuesday.  “ICE has received more than 150,000 applications from patriotic Americans who want to defend the homeland by removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from the U.S.,” Noem said in a statement.  “We have already issued more than 18,000 tentative job offers,” the DHS chief added. “Americans are answering their country’s call to serve and help remove murderers, pedophiles, rapists, terrorists, and gang members from our country.”

The enormous interest from Americans in joining the agency comes after anti-ICE protests — that often turned violent — swept the nation this summer in response to Trump’s surge in deportations and criminal migrant arrests.  ICE launched a massive recruitment push in late July after his Big Beautiful Bill granted the agency $75 billion in extra funding to carry out the commander in chief’s crackdown on illegal immigration — including $30 billion for arrest and deportation efforts and $45 billion to expand detention capabilities. (NY Post)  Read More Here >
Father we thank You for former law enforcement officers given the opportunity to return to work for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.  We are grateful for the 150,000 American citizens that applied to defend our homeland and remove criminals allowed to enter illegally during the past administration. We ask that current efforts of deportations would be targeted and successful in removing the thousands upon thousands that entered the US illegally from our borders. Bring exposure to any nefarious intentions for harm towards our nation, so all evil plans will be foiled!  Place a hedge of protection upon current ICE officers, border patrol agents, police officers and National Guard agents as they secure our neighborhoods, cities and states. We call upon Your mighty Name to give godly-wisdom to our Administration regarding states confronted with protests, so they may once again secure PEACE, SAFETY and ORDER within our beautiful nation! In the powerful Name of Jesus Christ, we pray- Amen and Amen.

"And violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise." (Isaiah 60:18)

Senate Dems Want to Reopen Government, But Are 'Terrified of Getting the Guillotine' from Radical Base: Report

Fear of crossing progressives is keeping moderate Democrats from supporting Republican measures to reopen the federal government, according to a new report.

The federal government has been shut down since Oct.1. A House-passed bill to reopen it through Nov. 21 has failed multiple votes in the Senate, where 60 votes are required for passage, meaning at least seven Democrats must join the GOP.

The House bill has failed in the Senate 11 times, most recently Monday night, as noted by CBS News.

Moderates who might join the GOP to pass the bill are keeping a low profile in the aftermath of the “No Kings” protests, according to The Hill.

“People are going to get hammered” if they side with Republicans, one Democratic senator whose name was withheld said. (WesternJournal) Read more here

Mighty One, we thank You for the great exposure that is occurring because of this foolish shutdown of our government and the weak timidity of the democrats. We pray for Your hand to be seen in this situation and that the democrat party would come under Your authority. We pray that the church in this nation stands in the gap for people who are struggling within each community and raises up a banner of shelter, provision and resources under the mighty name of Jesus. We praise You Abba for Your wisdom and courage to flow across this country in truth and revelation.

"But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification." (Romans 5:15-16)

Federal appeals court rules Trump can deploy National Guard to Portland

An appeals court on Monday put on hold a lower court ruling that kept President Donald Trump from taking command of 200 Oregon National Guard troops. However, Trump is still barred from actually deploying those troops, at least for now.

U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut issued two temporary restraining orders early this month — one that prohibited Trump from calling up the troops so he could send them to Portland, and another that prohibited him from sending any National Guard members to Oregon at all, after the president tried to evade the first order by deploying California troops instead.

The Justice Department appealed the first order, and in a 2-1 ruling Monday, a panel from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with the administration. The majority said the president was likely to succeed on his claim that he had the authority to federalize the troops based on a determination he was unable to enforce the laws without them.

However, Immergut’s second order remains in effect, so no troops may immediately be deployed.

The administration has said that because the legal reasoning underpinning both temporary restraining orders was the same, and soon after the ruling Monday it asked Immergut to immediately dissolve her second order, which would allow Trump to deploy troops to Portland. The Justice Department argued that it is not the role of the courts to second-guess the president’s determination about when to deploy troops. (KPTV.com)

Holy One, this step is important, but not final and we ask for full, complete authority for President Trump to be able to protect federal buildings in Portland, arrest law-breakers and empower the citizens, as necessary, in the name of Jesus. Holy One, we ask You to bring an end to this well-organized, well-funded tyranny that is roaming the streets of our nation. We call for law and order to prevail and we ask You to release divine guidance for all who are working to bring peace to our streets, just justice in the court system and righteous government in our states, in Jesus's holy name.

"Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall." (1 Corinthians 10:11-12)

Typhoon Halong Has Devastated Parts of Western Alaska with Flooding, Displacing Hundreds; How You Can Help Survivors

The U.S. Coast Guard commander for Western Alaska compared the devastation in local villages over the weekend to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

“Several of these villages have been completely devastated, absolutely flooded, several feet deep,” Capt. Christopher Culpepper said at a news conference Monday. “This took homes off of foundations. This took people into peril, where folks were swimming, floating, trying to find debris to hold onto in the cover of darkness.”

A total of 49 communities have reported impacts from the storm, officials said.

Roberts and others at Monday’s news conference said they’re still taking stock of the damage, but said the storm destroyed dozens of homes. Some of them floated off their foundations with families still inside. Several people called the state’s emergency operations center for help.

Here's how you can help.

Financial support: The Western Alaska Disaster Relief Fund

The Alaska Community Foundation, an Anchorage-based nonprofit, has partnered with organizations serving people throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region, Norton Sound and the Northwest Arctic to funnel financial donations to people affected by the storm.

The organization is accepting donations at its website.

Mighty King, yet another unbearable weather tragedy has hit some of the most vulnerable people of our nation who live so close to the land and depend upon it for their very survival. We thank You that there are many teams of Jesus-followers rushing relief and rescue as well as the gospel love of Jesus to the Alaska native people. We pray for many opportunities for the gospel to be shared with them, while helping the villages get re-settled somewhere else before winter sets in. We pray for revival to run in these communities and we bless the missionaries called to bring Jesus to these close-knit peoples, in Jesus's name.

"All the saints greet you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen." (2 Corin. 13:13-14)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Netanyahu dismisses national security chief over disputes on Qatar strike, Gaza operations - Jerusalem Post

Tzachi Hanegbi's tenure as National Security Council head ended after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed him he would be appointing a new council head, Hanegbi said in a statement on Tuesday.

Netanyahu announced that he would appoint the deputy head of the National Security Council, Gil Reich, to its acting head.
“I thanked the prime minister for the privilege of being a partner in shaping Israel’s foreign and security policy during challenging years, for the opportunity to express an independent position in sensitive discussions, and for the professional discourse we conducted even during times of disagreement,” Hanegbi stated. (Read more)

2. Israeli Diaspora minister: Erdoğan a ‘sworn enemy’ of Israel, West - JNS

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is a “sworn enemy of Israel and the West, a jihadist in a suit,” Amichai Chikli, the Jewish state’s minister of diaspora affairs and combating antisemitism, charged on Monday.

The Jewish state “will not tolerate a Turkish presence” on its southern border with the Gaza Strip or northern frontier with Syria, Chikli tweeted, slamming Ankara’s potential involvement in U.S. President Donald Trump’s recently-launched peace plan for the Middle East.

“‘May Allah, for the sake of His name … destroy and devastate Zionist Israel.’ This sentence was not uttered by a Hamas or Hezbollah leader, it was said in a public prayer on March 30, 2025, by the President of Turkey,” the Israeli Cabinet minister noted in his post on X. (Read more)

3. IDF begins officially marking ‘yellow line’ in Gaza - JNS

(Oct. 21, 2025 / Israel Hayom) As part of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement and in accordance with Israeli government directives, the Israel Defense Forces has begun marking the “yellow line” in the Gaza Strip.

The establishment of this line, distinct from the perimeter of the former security fence, is part of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

According to the IDF Spokesperson, “The marking is being carried out on concrete barriers topped with a yellow-painted post standing 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) above the ground,” adding that concrete barriers are “being placed every 200 meters.” (Read more

4. Israel Urges Canadian PM Carney to Drop Pledge to Arrest Netanyahu
- Algemeiner

Israel urged Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to drop his pledge to honor the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he traveled to the country.

Carney was asked in an interview with Bloomberg published last week if he would fulfil the commitment of his predecessor Justin Trudeau to arrest Netanyahu on war crimes charges if he came to Canada, to which he replied “yes.”

“We believe that Prime Minister Carney should, of course, reconsider this and welcome Prime Minister Netanyahu, the leader of the only Jewish state and democratic country in the Middle East, to Canada,” Israeli government spokesperson Shosh Bedrosian told reporters.

The ICC issued arrest warrants last year for Netanyahu for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza conflict. Israel rejects the jurisdiction of the Hague-based court and denies war crimes in Gaza. (Read more

1. Mayoral candidate Cory Bowman says that a bullet hole was found in window of his family's church - wiwt.com

Cincinnati mayoral candidate Cory Bowman indicated that a bullet appeared to have been fired through a window of the church that he and his wife are pastors at.

Bowman, whose half-brother is Vice President JD Vance, said in a statement that he found a bullet hole in one of the side windows of River Church Cincinnati on Saturday, which is located in the West End.

Bowman said that he subsequently called Cincinnati police, who are now investigating the incident.

It is unknown whether the alleged incident was intended to be targeted specifically at Bowman because of his mayoral campaign. However, Bowman says that he has received numerous threats throughout the past few months since launching his campaign.
(Read more here)

- Father, we pray that this was a completely (and unacceptable) random bullet and no message was being sent to Pastor Bowman or his half-brother, our nation's vice-president. We pray for Your holy angels to continue protecting this pastor's family and congregation and for success in his mayoral candidacy, in Jesus's name. May the perpetrators be stopped from harming anyone and may they have the chance to meet Jesus and repent, for the expansion of the Kingdom of God, in Jesus' name.

- "Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied." (Acts 9:31)
2. Schumer Learns 'Never Strike a King' Lesson as Trump Drives Stake Through Heart of His Pet Multi-Billion Project - Western Journal

No one wanted the ongoing government shutdown more than Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York.
In fact, Schumer’s own words serve as irrefutable proof that he hoped the shutdown would boost his party’s political fortunes.

Now, in the wake of Democrats’ silly “No Kings” rallies against President Donald Trump on Saturday, Schumer has learned that perhaps he should have thought through his shutdown strategy before taking on a president who, time and again, has exhibited the resilience and fighting spirit of history’s noblest kings.

Aboard Air Force One on Sunday, Trump told reporters that he has terminated funding for Schumer’s $16 billion Hudson River tunnel project — also known as the Gateway Program — in New York City. (Read more here)

- Thank You Abba for our government exercising fiscal responsibility and wisdom in decision-making. We pray for Senator Schumer to stop the political maneuvering and act as a man of integrity and honor to bless America instead of his political future, in Jesus's name. We thank You Father for using this shutdown period for Your good in every way.

- "For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, 'For this very purpose, I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.' Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens." (Romans 9:17-18)

3. Defiant Sliwa says 'I am not dropping out' of NYC mayor race: 'Under no circumstance' - Fox News

Republican New York City mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa rejected calls for him to withdraw from the race on Tuesday.

Sliwa was defiant during a morning press conference outside a Manhattan subway station, after many political observers called on him to withdraw from the race in order for Andrew Cuomo to defeat the Democratic nominee, Zohran Mamdani.

"So let's be very clear. I am not dropping out. Under no circumstance. I've already been offered money to drop out, I said no. Distant from that, with threats against Nancy and myself, I now have to have armed security with me, former NYPD officers. Never had that in my life," Sliwa said Tuesday. (Read more)
- Holy One, we pray for Curtis Sliwa to stand strong and firm in the mayoral race for New York City. This is a very significant election and we pray that You Father will prevail over darkness, tyranny and corruption, in Jesus's name. We know Sliwa has the best interests of New York at heart and will continue to work for the benefit of New York because of the countless times he and his team of Guardian Angels protected both citizens and tourists in the city over the years. We pray for him to walk in Your light and wisdom and be the surprise victor in this upcoming election, in Jesus's name.

- "And he who was in charge of the house, and he who was in charge of the city, the elders also, and those who reared the sons, sent to Jehu, saying 'We are your servants, we will do all you tell us; but we will not make anyone king. Do what is good in your sight.'" (2 Kings 10:5)
4. House Judiciary's Jordan refers former CIA Director Brennan to DOJ over congressional testimony - Just the News

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan on Tuesday referred former Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution alleging Brennan knowingly made false statements during his transcribed interview before the panel in 2023.

Jordan, an Ohio Republican, says Brennan made "numerous willfully and intentionally false statements of material fact" that were contradicted by the record established by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the CIA.

Such statements included the assertion the CIA relied on the so-called Steele dossier in drafting the post-2016 election Intelligence Community Assessment, Jordan says in his letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi. (Read more)

- We agree with Your word Almighty God that defines deception and lying as sin that requires repentance along with paying the expected consequences. We pray for this man to become very clear about the distinctions between truth and not-truth and that he will be held to account for his words and deeds against our President, the CIA and our nation. We pray for righteousness in bringing him to justice and we bind every corrupt member of the judiciary from being able to protect him, in Jesus's name.

- "'Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed; Nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; At the time I punish them, They shall be cast down,' says the Lord." (Jeremiah 6:16)

5. Teens Who Attacked DOGE Staffer Now Face Federal Charges - Silverlock.com

U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro revealed the identities of two adult suspects charged with assaulting former DOGE employee “Big Balls” Edward Coristine. At a press conference she identified 19-year-old Laurence Cotton-Powell and 18-year-old Anthony Taylor as alleged perpetrators in the August attack. Just last week two 15-year-olds involved in the assault only received probation after they pleaded guilty. And to prevent any more slaps on the wrist, Pirro is bringing criminal charges against the adult attackers.

Pirro highlighted Cotton-Powell’s prior criminal record, criticizing the district’s superior court for granting him probation after a felony attempted robbery conviction (this precedes the assault on Coristine).

“So, after a felony of attempted robbery, conviction, after a violation of probation, after a second crime; after a second conviction, after no compliance with the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency the judges say, ‘Do better,’ and they let him go. And guess what? Within 10 days, he’s at it again with Ethan Levine and Edward Coristine,” Pirro stated. (Read more here)
 - Praise You Father, for US Attorney Pirro taking strong legal action against these young people who have been committing crimes and doing harm to others for whatever reasons. It is time for them to pay the price of their unwarranted wicked deeds, in Jesus's name. We pray for them to be repentant and have hearts to change their ways as they spend time in prison for their crimes.

- "'Again, when I say to the wicked, "You shall surely die," if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and right, if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has stolen, and walks in the statutes of life without committing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die.'" (Ezekiel 33:14-15)

6. Sanae Takaichi Wins Historic Vote to Become Japan’s First Female Prime Minister - Breitbart

Conservative Sanae Takaichi is Japan’s first female prime minister after the 64-year-old triumphed Tuesday in an historic vote to clear the way for her ascendancy.

Takaichi is also the first woman to lead the dominant Liberal Democratic Party that has forged Japan’s postwar politics.

She won 237 votes from MPs in the 465-seat lower house following a breakthrough coalition deal by her party 24 hours earlier.

The former TV presenter and professed deep admirer of Margaret Thatcher leads a new ruling coalition is expected to discuss an increase in defense spending, potential tax cuts and consider a push to restart Japan’s suspended nuclear power plants, the Financial Times reports. (Read more here)

- We pray blessings and salvation upon this first female and conservative prime minister of Japan. May she have a heart to hear the word of the Lord and serve with courage and integrity because she's under the authority of Almighty God, in Jesus's name. We thank You Father for this breakthrough in leadership and we lift up the nation of Japan to You Holy One, for righteousness and redemption. We pray for many souls to come into the Kingdom of God because Your word has been shed abroad upon these islands for many years, for Your glory.

- "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Listen! The Lord is calling to the city– and to fear Your name is wisdom– 'Heed the rod and the One who appointed it.'" (Micah 6:8-9)

The Daily Jot

“No King but Jesus” vs “No Kings”

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, October 21, 2025

The Revolutionary War was both a political rebellion and a spiritual stand. The patriots believed liberty was God-given, not government-granted. While historians debate whether the exact slogan “No Sovereign but God and no King but Jesus” was an official rallying cry, it reflected a very real worldview. Colonists sought liberty of conscience, worship, and speech, not a license for lawlessness. Fast-forward nearly 250 years, and the phrase “No Kings” is being resurrected, not by God-fearing patriots, but by mobs that would’ve condemned those patriots as “fascists.” October 18, saw protesters in weird costumes shouting chaos, waving banners that mocked the very foundations that birthed America. The contrast couldn’t be sharper.

The Revolutionary patriots bowed to no monarch because they believed their allegiance was first and foremost to Almighty God. Their struggle birthed a nation that recognized individual liberty as a reflection of divine design. Today’s “No Kings” movement, however, is steeped in something very different. These aren’t people contending for faith or freedom of conscience. They’re demanding a godless revolution—advocating for the destruction of Israel, dismantling of borders, normalization of sexual sin, and the silencing of biblical truth under the banner of “tolerance.” They call God’s moral standards “fascist,” proving how upside down their doctrine truly is. This isn’t about Trump. He’s just the latest stand-in for everything they despise about constitutional order, biblical morality, and American liberty. Read More

Fortnight to Election Day: 5 key 2025 races
to watch

With two weeks until Election Day, and the latest polls pointing to a potential photo finish in the battle for New Jersey governor, the two major party nominees are urging their supporters to get out and vote.

"When we vote, we win," Democratic nominee Rep. Mikie Sherrill said this past weekend at a rally.

And her Republican rival, Jack Ciattarelli, told his supporters that "championship teams finish strong… let's win this race."

New Jersey is just one of two states, along with Virginia, that hold statewide elections for governor this November. And the contests, which traditionally grab outsized national attention, are viewed as crucial early tests of President Donald Trump's unprecedented and relentless second-term agenda, as well as key barometers ahead of next year's midterm showdowns for the U.S. House and Senate.

Also in the political spotlight this November is New York City's high-profile mayoral election, the ballot box proposition over congressional redistricting in California and three state Supreme Court contests in battleground Pennsylvania.

Democrats, who are aiming to exit the political wilderness following last year's election setbacks when they lost control of the White House and Senate and failed to win back the House majority, are highlighting their success so far this year in special elections. (Fox News) Read more here

- Father God, this is where we get to be Americans. Praise God for the freedom we have in our nation to vote for the candidate of our own choosing, whether it be Governor, Lieutenant-Governor, Mayor, School Board officials or others. We ask for a great groundswell and outpouring of our legal citizens to come forth on November 4th, 2025. We ask, too, that each one who votes will do so with wisdom and understanding, according to Your will, and not by the yoke of a false bondage to a false rhetoric. We love You, O Lord, and we thank You, again and again and again, for allowing us to live in this time in the history of our great nation. In Your Name we offer this prayer, amen and amen!

- "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance."

Kushner says Israel must ‘help the Palestinian people,’ hints at Palestinian statehood

President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and former adviser said Israel’s hopes of regional integration under the Abraham Accords are tied to the conditions of Palestinians living Judea, Samaria, and Gaza.

By World Israel News Staff

President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, confidant, and former aide Jared Kushner warned that Israel must work to improve the conditions of Palestinians in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza if the Jewish state is to ever achieve broad integration into the Middle East.

Kushner and White House Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff spoke with CBS on 60 Minutes in an interview aired on Sunday, discussing the shaky truce in Gaza, efforts to achieve a lasting peace between Israel and the coastal enclave, and the administration’s plans to expand the Abraham Accords.

Declaring the war in Gaza to be “over,” Kushner – one of the architects of the 2020 Abraham Accords agreements between Israel and moderate Arab states – said that the Trump administration is now lobbying Israel to “help the Palestinian people thrive.”

“The biggest message that we’ve tried to convey to the Israeli leadership now is that, now that the war is over, if you want to integrate Israel with the broader Middle East, you have to find a way to help the Palestinian people thrive and do better,” Kushner said. - Father God, every time we hear the words "two-state solution," no matter who is decreeing them, our spirit is grieved. Abba Father God, we thank You that You are the eternal Guardian of the land of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and that the legacy
of this precious land, which belongs to the Jew, is caste in bronze by Your Word.
We ask that the light of Your truth would rest upon all who are making decisions for
the future of this land, that it be secure under the Shadow of Your wing. Amen and amen.

- "“I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land.” (3:2)
Following No Kings, Democrats Express Fear of Far Left
https://ifapray.org/blog/democrats-express-fear-of-far-left-as-shutdown-rages/

n newly reported remarks, some Democrat insiders are blaming the far Left for the failure of Senate Democrats to vote to end the federal government shutdown, now nearly three weeks old.

“People are going to get hammered,” one Democrat senator, who requested anonymity, told The Hill, adding: “Are there enough Democrats to join Republicans to reopen the government? Not in the near term.”

Another person close to the Democrat caucus invoked language associated with the French Revolution to describe their predicament, stating to The Hill that there would be enough support from Democrat members of the Senate to reopen the government “if people were not terrified of getting the guillotine.”

The remarks appear to support the contention of House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., initiated the shutdown for partisan gain.

“[Schumer] is recognizing the reality of the political winds changing in the state of New York. As I mentioned yesterday, they are likely to elect a Marxist to be the mayor of New York City, and Chuck Schumer is terrified by that,” Johnson told reporters back on Oct. 7.

The new Democrat remarks come after the virulent “No Kings” protests this past Saturday, at which millions of left-wing activists came out in force to deride the Trump administration and its supporters. The Daily Signal attended one such demonstration held in Washington. Protesters held signs comparing President Donald Trump and his supporters to Nazis.

The Daily Signal interviewed one protester who carried a sign that read, “Your vote is your voice, so scream.” She described conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on Sept. 10 while speaking on a college campus in Utah, as “a piece of garbage.”

“I am so tired of people saying, ‘Oh, but you know, it’s a terrible thing.’ No, Hitler is dead. I’m glad Hitler’s dead. Evil people have no place in my world,” the protester continued. (IFA) Read more here.

God, we pray against the radical hatred and glorification of violence on the left. We ask You to soften the hearts of Democrat lawmakers so that we may finally see an end to the shutdown.

Sunlight on demand: the satellites that could brighten our nights
Forget streetlamps, this company wants to start making nights brighter with the help of thousands of satellites.

It seems like everything is on demand these days, from takeout and taxis to cologne that smells like dirt (yes, dirt) on Amazon. But what about a company that wants to bend sunlight to humanity's will?

Reflect Orbital, an aerospace company in Los Angeles County, wants to let solar farms keep generating power after dark using a constellation of satellites that deliberately reflect sunlight down to Earth. Unlike ordinary satellites, which produce glare incidentally, these would be intentionally engineered to brighten the night sky—even in the dead of night. Seasonal affective disorder sufferers, stand up.

The first satellite, a test craft called Eärendil-1, is slated for launch in 2026. If all goes well, thousands more would follow, eventually forming a constellation of about 4,000 by 2030. Each would carry a nearly 180-foot mirror designed to focus sunlight on a patch of Earth. The illuminated area would be enormous—more than 4 miles across—and far brighter than the full moon, though still much dimmer than the midday sun.

Reflect Orbital founder Ben Nowack tested the concept closer to the ground. A hot-air balloon carried a smaller mirror, bouncing sunlight onto solar panels and sensors. The setup produced about half the energy of direct midday sun. That’s enough to be useful, yes, but scaling up to orbit introduces a host of logistical hurdles. To deliver the same intensity from much higher above, a much larger reflector would be required. The company’s solution is more modest and aims to capture roughly 20 percent of full sunlight. But even that would require thousands of satellites to keep any one area continuously lit. (Accuweather) Read More

Thought for the Day
"For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls." (Hebrews 12:3)
A Special Message
The Sinner's Prayer
