THE GOOD NEWS CORNER
Four States are Finally Rid of Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood officially shut down its last two clinics in Louisiana on Tuesday, leaving the state as the most populous in the country without any of the abortion provider’s locations. With the closures in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana joins Wyoming, North Dakota, and Mississippi as the only states without any Planned Parenthood clinics. The shutdowns follow major federal funding cuts for abortion providers under the Republican-passed One Big Beautiful Bill Act. “This is a win for babies, a win for mothers, and a win for LIFE!” Republican Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry posted on X Tuesday.

The GOP’s tax and spending bill, signed into law in July, blocked Medicaid funding for abortion providers. While a federal judge initially blocked enforcement of that provision after Planned Parenthood sued the Trump administration, an appeals court lifted the injunction earlier this month. Planned Parenthood has warned that up to 200 of its clinics could close if federal funding is cut. So far this year, at least 41 of their facilities have closed, according to Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.  Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast in Houston also shut down “Prevention Park,” the largest Planned Parenthood clinic in the Western Hemisphere, on Tuesday. (Life News) Read More Here >
- Father, we CELEBRATE the great news of Louisiana removing all Planned Parenthood Clinics within the State! Bless Pro-Life citizens and Governor Jeff Landry for supporting this important decision.  Lord we repent for the shedding of innocent blood and ask for Your righteous Ways to return to each state through every effort to defund abortion clinics. We give You ALL Glory for moving mightily across our nation and exposing the darkness inside this organization. We pray for the saving of thousands upon thousands of precious babies lives and Your perfect Will to be done, on earth as it is in heaven! By the Blood of Jesus Christ we pray- Amen and Amen.

Top Supreme Court Cases to Watch as Justices Reconvene

The Supreme Court is set to return on Oct. 6 for its 2025–2026 term, in which it will consider a series of cases that could affect major constitutional issues and impact President Donald Trump’s agenda.

The high court is expected to hear challenges to Trump’s policies and has already decided to hear arguments over Trump’s tariffs and attempts to fire high-level officials.

The Supreme Court will also consider whether states can ban men from playing in women’s sports, whether a ban on so-called conversion therapy violates free speech rights, and a variety of election-related cases that could affect the balance of political power in the United States.

Here are the top cases so far this term and what is at stake in each.

> > > To read the details for all five cases, go here. (The Epoch Times)

- Lord God, we thank You for the Supreme Court. We thank You for our founders who had the wisdom to create three branches of our government: executive, legislative and judicial. We ask that our Court would be led by Your Spirit in all the decisions they will address in this coming judicial year. We ask, too, for supernatural protection (Psalm 91) to cover each of the nine justices and their families, now and always. May You never leave them nor forsake them, O Lord. We offer this prayer in Your mighty name, amen and amen.

China Helping Russia Target Ukraine With Missile Strikes: Ukrainian Intelligence

China is helping Russia target sites in Ukraine for missile strikes, a senior intelligence official told Ukraine state media on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Oleh Aleksandrov, an official with Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Agency, told state media Ukrinform that China is helping Russia target specific sites for missile strikes.

“There is evidence of a high level of cooperation between Russia and China in conducting satellite reconnaissance of Ukraine’s territory to identify and reconnoiter strategic targets for destruction,” said Aleksandrov. “At the same time, as we have seen in recent months, these targets may belong to foreign investors.”

According to Ukrinform, the intelligence service has not disclosed the targets in Ukraine that were hit using Chinese satellite intelligence. The release comes just days after The Wall Street Journal and Reuters reported that the United States may give Kyiv targeting intelligence for energy infrastructure deep inside Russia, such as refineries, pipelines, and power plants.

Responding to the above U.S. media reports, the Kremlin said on Oct. 2 that it believes the United States and NATO already regularly provide Ukraine with battlefield intelligence. “The United States of America transmits intelligence to Ukraine on a regular basis online,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in Moscow. “The supply and use of the entire infrastructure of NATO and the United States to collect and transfer intelligence to Ukrainians is obvious.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Mike Huckabee Marks 2nd Anniversary of October 7: Israel, Jews ‘Will Never Stand Alone’

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee marked the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attack on Israel by calling for the remaining Israeli hostages to be freed in a new deal.

President Donald Trump unveiled his 20-point plan for a ceasefire-and-hostage deal in Gaza on Sep. 29. Arab and Muslim nations embraced the plan, as did Israel, and Hamas provisionally agreed to it late last week.

Huckabee closed by pledging that Israel and the Jewish people “will never stand alone” in the face of terror.

His full statement, posted to X, is as follows: (Go here to read his remarks.)

In contrast to Huckabee, Democrats like Zohran Mamdani are using the week to decry the fictitious “genocide” of Palestinians, inverting the roles of perpetrator and victim. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Father God,

We grieve today with Israel and the Jewish people as they mark the second anniversary of the October 7th massacre. Thank you, Lord, for Ambassador Huckabee's assurance to the Jewish people that they will "never stand alone." We pray that the peace deal that President Trump has brought forth will allow all 48 hostages living and deceased to be released and brought home so that the Jewish people will have closure. The courage of the Jewish people has inspired us to always fight against evil and anti-semitism at home and across the world.. We declare that the American people will always stand with Israel! May God's blessings always rest upon His people and keep them safe. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Mamdani Marks ‘Genocide’ of Palestinians Ahead of October 7 Anniversary of Terror Attack on Israel

Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic Party nominee for mayor of New York City, met with Palestinians to mark the “genocide” in Gaza ahead of the second anniversary of the Palestinian terror attack on Israel on October 7.

“This afternoon,” he posted on X on Sunday, “I sat with Palestinian New Yorkers in Astoria and listened to what they and their families have endured as the genocide in Gaza [sic] continues, funded by our government.

“In the face of immeasurable grief, they have showed unbreakable resilience.”

There is no “genocide” in Gaza, though the Hamas terrorists who invaded Israel certainly had genocidal intent, as shown by their actions and their founding document.

Mamdani is the son of Mahmood Mamdani, an Ivy League scholar who has called for suicide bombings to be recognized as an ordinary form of warfare.

The mayoral nominee, an avowed socialist, has participated in radical anti-Israel marches, and promises to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for supposed “war crimes” if he sets foot in New York.

In his statement, Mamdani managed to invert perpetrator and victim, coddling the radical, pro-terror sentiments of Palestinians who want to assume the posture of helplessness after launching, and cheering, a bloody conflict.

Hamas murdered 1,200 Israelis on October 7, most of them civilians, and did so with extreme brutality, often live-streaming their atrocities to family members of their victims. They also took more than 250 hostages to Gaza; 20, at most, are still alive. (Breitbart) Read more here.

- Oh, God!  Oh, God!  Oh God!

How can we ever forgive these demonically inspired individuals?? How can we find mercy for their souls?

Lord God, we cannot do this, but You can . . . and You did when You hung on that Blood-stained Cross two thousand years ago.

We ask that Your hand of deliverance would rest mightily upon Zohran Mamdani and all of his followers, bringing Your light to pierce their darkness. Help them, O Lord, we pray, amen and amen.

- "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do!" (Luke 23:34)

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been placed on their highest level of readiness ahead of the Sukkot holiday, following directives from Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, who convened a high-level security assessment on Monday morning.

Zamir met with members of the General Staff Forum to evaluate the current situation across all fronts.

2. Leaked document reveal plan for Tony Blair to manage Gaza - Israel Hayom

A recently leaked, 21-page document reveals a detailed plan to establish an international transitional authority for managing the Gaza Strip after the war, led by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The plan, formulated by a team associated with Blair's office and American-Israeli circles close to the Trump administration, proposes an international governmental framework that would operate in Gaza for 3 to 5 years, until control is transferred to a "reformed" Palestinian authority.

The document, titled "Gaza International Transitional Authority" (GITA), details the proposed governmental structure, identifies the key figures expected to fill senior positions, and outlines the accompanying economic and security plan. (Read more)

An Israeli negotiating team headed by Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer was set to depart for Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt on Monday for indirect talks with Hamas terrorists regarding a hostage agreement.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu formally ordered the team’s departure on Sunday night, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.

Netanyahu held a “lengthy meeting” on Sunday evening “to prepare the Hostages and the Missing Team ahead of their departure for Sharm El-Sheikh, where negotiations with the mediators will be held,” it added.

The delegation has been tasked with finalizing technical details of the captives’ release in the wake of Hamas’s initial acceptance of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the almost two-year-long Gaza war, which would lead to the immediate release of all 48 hostages. (Read more)

4. Two Years After Hamas Attacks, Global Antisemitism Surges to Record Levels
- Algemeiner

Ahead of the two-year anniversary of Hamas’s Oct. 7 atrocities in Israel, antisemitism shows no sign of slowing, with Jewish communities worldwide confronting rising attacks, spreading anti-Jewish hatred, and an increasingly hostile climate, according to a new report.

The nonprofit Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) released a study documenting a surge in antisemitic incidents — including threats, physical assaults, vandalism, harassment, and hate speech — targeting Jews and Israelis globally since the Hamas-led invasion of and massacre across southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

As the war in Gaza continues, antisemitism and hostility toward Jewish communities have only intensified worldwide, particularly in Europe, Australia, and the United States.

Jewish leaders around the world have repeatedly urged authorities to confront and halt the escalating tide of hate and violence, which has spread across public spaces and social media, fueling social exclusion and, in some cases, deadly attacks. (Read more)

1. Trump administration prepares to offer money to unaccompanied migrant teenagers to voluntarily leave US - CNN

The Department of Homeland Security is preparing to offer unaccompanied migrant teenagers in the United States the option to voluntarily leave the country and receive a $2,500 payment, according to three sources familiar with the plans and an administration memo obtained by CNN.

The Trump administration has already been offering financial incentives — including a $1,000 exit bonus — to undocumented adult immigrants in the US to depart the country. Administration officials have argued that self-deportation incentives are more cost effective, given the high price tag of immigrant detention and deportation.

A notice sent to legal service providers Friday by the Department of Health and Human Services, seen by CNN, said the administration “will provide a one-time resettlement support stipend of $2,500 U.S. Dollars to unaccompanied alien children, 14 years of age and older, who have elected to voluntarily depart the United States as of the date of this notice and moving forward,” adding that the “benefit is intended to support reintegration efforts following departure.” (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You that this administration is bringing responsibility and accountability to our immigration system. We continue to ask for Your protection over our nation’s borders. Help us, Lord, with this matter as it affects so many aspects of our nation. Grant our leaders wisdom to ensure safety and peace for all Americans and the immigrants who are genuinely seeking asylum in our great nation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.”        (‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-8‬)

2. Supreme Court lets Trump strip deportation protections for Venezuelan migrants - USA Today

WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court handed President Donald Trump another win on Oct. 3, allowing his administration to continue deporting Venezuelan migrants who are legally shielded due to dangerous living conditions in their home country.

An ideologically divided court on Oct. 3 paused a federal judge's September ruling that the administration had wrongly ended a program that allowed hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan migrants to live and work temporarily in the United States.

The high court also sided with the administration at an earlier stage in the case. In May, the justices lifted a California federal judge's temporary order, keeping the program in place while the case is litigated.

In a brief, unsigned order, the court on Oct. 3 said that while the posture of the case has changed, the legal arguments and balance of potential harms to both sides have not.

“The same result that we reached in May is appropriate here,” the court said. (Read more)

3. Trump revives family separations amid drive to deport millions: ‘A tactic to punish’ - The Guardian

The Trump administration has revived the practice of separating families in order to coerce immigrants and asylum seekers to leave the US, attorneys and former immigration officials allege.

In several cases, officials have retaliated against immigrants who challenged deportation orders by forcibly separating them from their children, a Guardian investigation found. The officials misclassified the children as “unaccompanied minors” before placing them in government-run shelters or foster care.

The new practice has taken effect as the administration has also issued stringent new limits on who can take custody of unaccompanied minors – which advocates say keep thousands of children away from their relatives.

“This is a tactic to punish people for not acquiescing,” said Faisal Al-Juburi, head of external affairs at the legal aid group Raíces. “It’s a tactic to get immigrants to relent, to agree to self-deport.” (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray all these tactics work to strengthen the hands of those who are turning the battle at the gate. We pray, too, that you will continue to give our government wisdom about what to do in these situations. We know that there is so much corruption and illegal activity that comes with these families and children crossing the border and so we thank you for these safety mechanisms to separate and assess the situation, protecting not only the immigrants but also US citizens. Amen.

- “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”     (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

4. ISIS in Mozambique documents beheading, shooting Christians, burning churches; over 30 beheaded - Christian Post

6,200 people slaughtered, over 1 million displaced

Over 30 Christians were beheaded in a series of recent attacks in northern Mozambique by Islamic State-affiliated terrorists who also released graphic photographs showing executions, shootings and widespread arson. The group targeted multiple villages across Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces, setting fire to churches and homes in a campaign of violence against civilians.

The Islamic State Mozambique Province, or ISMP, released a 20-image photoset this week, documenting its operatives executing civilians by beheading and close-range gunfire, and burning down homes and churches, MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute) reported.

The group claimed responsibility for several attacks throughout the last week of September, including last Thursday’s beheading of two Christians in Chiure-Velho, Chiure District.

ISMP operatives also claimed responsibility for last Friday’s raid on Nacocha village in Chiure District, where a Christian was shot and killed, and two churches were burned. The same day, they attacked Nacussa village, also in Chiure, and set fire to two more churches. (Read more)

- We plead the blood of Jesus over Christians all over the world that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. As we read about the celebration of those who have endured hardship, let it be a reminder to us to always press forward in the hardships we, too, may face. We know we can triumph through all with your help, Lord God. Amen and amen.

- “You, however, be self-controlled in all things, endure hardship, do an evangelist’s work, fulfill your ministry.” (2 Timothy 4:5 )

5.  'Hatred and racism cannot tear us apart,' first woman Archbishop of Canterbury says - BBC

Dame Sarah Mullally is named as the first woman Archbishop of Canterbury in the Church of England's almost 500-year history. In her first address at Canterbury Cathedral, she addresses "profound global uncertainty", saying "the possibility of healing lies in acts of kindness and love."

Addressing the deadly attack on a synagogue in Manchester, she says: "As a Church, have a responsibility to be a people who stand with the Jewish community against antisemitism in all its forms."

Mullally, 63, has been Bishop of London for seven years - she's also a former midwife who describes herself as a feminist.     The Church had been without someone in the top job for almost a year, after Justin Welby resigned over his failure to report a prolific child abuser. (Read more)

- Lord, we ask that You take this opportunity to bring a move of Your Holy Spirit to the Anglican Church, with repentance, heart change, the Power of the Holy Spirit and Your Tongues of Fire. So often we have seen examples of church leadership that has failed to bring the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. We know that the Fire of the Spirit would move to other denominations and meetings as it did in the late 60s and 70s. Lord, please bring revival to the church and revelation to those who do not know You!

- “And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2: 1-3)

If you like comets, this month is shaping up to be a good season. An assortment of the objects are passing through our cosmic neighborhood, trailed by wisps of gas and dust. This month, skywatchers in the Northern Hemisphere will have the opportunity to observe not one but two once-in-a-lifetime comets in the fall skies.

The Daily Jot

Give Ear and Believe

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, October 6, 2025

Ha’azinu (Deuteronomy 32:1-52), means “give ear.” It is a Hebrew call to listen carefully to what follows. It is the name of the “Song of Moses,” beginning with “Hear (Ha’azinu), O heavens, as I speak! Listen, earth, to the words from my mouth!” Moses, nearing the end of his life, delivers this prophetic oracle as both a warning and a witness. He foretells Israel’s future unfaithfulness and God’s righteous judgment. Yet this reaches across time to the Messianic redemption. Moses urges Israel to “take to heart” these words, for they are not trivial but “your very life” (Deuteronomy 32:47). Then, having fulfilled his mission, Moses ascends Mount Nebo to view the Promised Land he will not enter. So, what’s this have to do with you?

Within the song, Moses uses vivid imagery to reveal God’s heart. The LORD’s teaching falls like rain, nourishing His people as an eagle stirs its young to fly. But Israel, once nurtured, grows fat and rebellious, chasing false gods. God warns that such rebellion will bring famine, plague, and the sword, yet His covenant remains. He will not abandon them forever. The song offers a sweeping outline of divine justice: God chooses and provides (v.9-14), Israel rebels (v.16-18), God disciplines (v.19-20), avenges His people (v.27-33), declares His uniqueness (v.37-39), and finally atones for the land and His people (v.43). Through every turn, God’s perfection and righteousness stand firm. Sounds a lot like life, right? Yet, through all of our trials, God’s promise is the same as Christ’s in Matthew 28:20, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Read More

Israeli delegation heads to Egypt for hostage talks with Hamas

Netanyahu’s office clarified in a Sunday media briefing that the premier, in an agreement with Washington, has limited the duration of the talks “to a few days maximum, with no tolerance” for delays.

A 72-hour deadline will go into effect “from the moment all details are solidified with Hamas,” stated PMO spokeswoman Shosh Badrosian. (JNS.org) Read more here.

- Father God, we are asking for a miracle. We pray that Hamas will keep its promise regarding the release of the hostages still held in their grip. We bind the spirit of war; and we pray for peace in Israel and throughout the Middle East. In Your Name,
Holy One, we offer this prayer, amen and amen.

FBI Cuts All Ties to Southern Poverty Law Center

The FBI has confirmed that it severed all ties to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a far-left activist group that puts conservatives and Christians on a “hate map” along with Ku Klux Klan chapters. The “hate map” has inspired at least one terrorist attack against a conservative organization.

“The Southern Poverty Law Center long ago abandoned civil rights work and turned into a partisan smear machine,” FBI Director Kash Patel told The Daily Signal in a statement Friday. “Their so-called hate map has been used to defame mainstream Americans and even inspired violence.”

“That disgraceful record makes them unfit for any FBI partnership,” Patel added.

The FBI confirmed that it has no intelligence products from the SPLC and does not engage in contact or information sharing with the SPLC.

The statement comes days after Patel told Fox News Digital that the FBI had severed ties with the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish nonprofit that opposes anti-Semitism but also leans left and condemns critics of transgender ideology.

Science Affirms the Power of Prayer

It is not common for prayer to be a consistent talking point in the mainstream media. Usually, the topic concerning conversation with God is something that is reserved for churches and religious magazines. However, the shooting at a Catholic church in Minneapolis in August and the assassination of Charlie Kirk in September have created a sort of avalanche effect regarding the topic of faith and prayer in the media.

Some have been claiming that prayer doesn’t matter and doesn’t do anything. We know of the now-infamous remarks of Jacob Frey, the Minneapolis mayor, telling people that we do not need any more prayers after the children were killed while they were praying. Other notable political commentators like Jen Psaki also ridiculed the idea of prayer during such times, noting, “Prayer is not freaking enough.”

Conservative minds and leaders in churches have responded accordingly to these absurd claims. Many cited the importance of faith for their own lives as well as their daily practice of prayer. What is critical, however, is to actually talk about what prayer is and what it does.

For Christians, prayer is all about communion. Prayer is a conversation with a living and true God. We are placed in the presence of God when we pray, and He truly listens to us as well as speaks to us. Christians believe this is possible because of the rational evidence for God’s existence and the identity of God. While these topics sound like they would only be relevant to a religious congregation, it has become vividly evident that our culture needs clarity on them as well. . .
. . . Now we must investigate what prayer does. Prayer is not magic. We don’t pray so that things turn out the way that we want, we pray because we know that we are dependent on God for everything—our existence, our blessings, our every breath. We pray because we know we need relationship.

Since human beings are made for relationship, we know that isolation is a major cause for depression. Studies show that prayer reduces anxiety, stress, and depression. There are many hypotheses why this is the case, but some recent studies reveal interesting facts about prayer and brain function.

Prayer activates the parts of the brain that are active during interpersonal communication with other human beings. Consistent daily prayer has also been found to create a larger sense of calm and lower feelings of anger. On a practical level, habitual prayer also grows the area of the brain that is responsible for attention control. This can lead to a clear mind in a greater capacity for being present to those that we love. It also has led scientists to conclude that prayer can indirectly help ward off the risks of dementia to some degree. (The Daily Signal) Read more here.

After Discovery of Massive ‘White Gold’ Deposit, Arkansas Towns Prepare for Boom
Rural Lafayette County, with one-third its 1930s population, braces for impact as the epicenter of a rapidly intensifying global rush for lithium.

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Ark.—There are boom-and-bust ghost towns and there are towns that dissipate over decades, slowly wilting away until a place is no longer a place.

Downtown Lewisville is such a place.

The Lafayette County seat has one unplugged traffic light and the three-block span between the police and fire station and county courthouse is a crypt of calcified commerce, clay buffed-brick husks with sagging canopies shading boarded storefronts and empty sidewalks.

There’s a “white gold” rush in Arklatex, a high-stakes global race to extract battery-grade lithium from the Smackover Formation’s arch across Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas.

The epicenter of this contest is in Lafayette County, with ground zero running through the desiccated, deserted streets of downtown Lewisville.
