Trump Presents Congressional Space Medals of Honor to Artemis II Astronauts
|
|
|
President Donald Trump presented Congressional Space Medals of Honor on Friday to the Artemis II astronauts, who successfully journeyed around the moon in April. Trump bestowed Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen with the medals during a ceremony at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. “We gather here on these storied grounds, though, to celebrate the immense courage and service of four intrepid space heroes whose sense of daring and adventure led them further from Earth than anyone has ever traveled before,” Trump said ahead of the ceremony. “These astronauts did not do it alone. I want to salute all of the engineers and scientists, launch and landing specialists, everyone at NASA who helped make this mission a great success,” he added.
The president recounted watching Artemis II during its mission. “I was at a very important meeting with the biggest people in the country, maybe some of the biggest people in the world, and somebody said, ‘I’d like to watch Artemis.’ I said, ‘You would? Really? Right in the middle of our meeting you want to watch?'” Trump said. “And we actually had a television pulled up, and everybody was spellbound… and we watched every minute of it. In fact, the meeting was a disaster because after that was over, they were so excited, nobody did anything, so it was a total waste of time,” he joked.
Trump also announced in his remarks that the United States is establishing the U.S. Space Academy, which is a new national military academy “It’s clear that we will need to educate and train an entire generation of skilled service members, engineers, and civil operators, and everything else to do what we have to do, and what we’re right now doing the best, and will continue and I think by leaps and bounds,” he said. “That’s why in a few moments I will sign an executive order to begin the process of creating a new national academy. Trump Plans Pentagon Address For Historic 9/11 Anniversary

President Donald Trump is reportedly preparing to mark the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks at the Pentagon rather than Ground Zero in New York City.
The president is expected to deliver remarks at the Pentagon ceremony on Sept. 11, according to reporting from The New York Times and CNN.
Vice President JD Vance will represent the administration at the World Trade Center memorial in Manhattan. A White House official told NewsNation that all three sites attacked on Sept. 11, 2001, will have administration officials in attendance.
The president’s Pentagon appearance will continue a familiar tradition. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump attended the ceremony there last year, when the president delivered remarks and participated in a wreath-laying ceremony.
“Americans did not hesitate,” Trump said during the 2025 observance. “They stood on their feet and they showed the world that we will never yield.”

The New False Narrative of 9/11: How Institutions Are Rewriting the Deadliest Terrorist Attack in American History
|

|
Twenty-five years after nineteen al-Qaeda hijackers murdered nearly 3,000 people in the deadliest terrorist attack in American history, a new false narrative of that day has taken hold across American and Western institutions. It does not deny the attacks happened. It strips them of the one fact that explains them.
The pattern is appearing among broadcasters, institutions, educators, media organizations, and public figures who discuss September 11 while avoiding the words “terrorism,” “terrorist,” and “Islamist extremism,” or who decline to name al-Qaeda’s ideological motivation directly, and who apply that same linguistic avoidance to Hamas and to Hezbollah.
In Pennsylvania and Delaware, the Philadelphia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations distributed a guide this year instructing teachers to “avoid using language that validates the claims of the 9/11 attackers by associating their acts of mass murder with Islam and Muslims,” specifically naming “Islamic terrorists,” “jihadists,” and “radical Islamic terrorists” as forbidden terms. The guide’s own prose obeys its own rule. It never once uses the word “terrorism,” choosing “the 9/11 attacks,” “this tragic day,” and “acts of mass murder” instead. An organization willing to write the phrase “acts of mass murder” is plainly capable of writing “terrorism.” It chose not to.
CAIR National‘s own 2026-2027 back-to-school guide, extending what the organization calls its “Unhostile Campus Campaign” down into kindergarten classrooms, formally endorses a single 9/11 curriculum for nationwide use, developed by CAIR-New Jersey and a group called Teaching While Muslim, according to reporting by Jewish Onliner. That curriculum describes the September 11 hijackers as “a group self-identifying as AlQaeda hailing from the mountains of Afghanistan,” never uses the word terrorist, and tells students the attackers acted in response to “America’s support of Israel, their involvement in the Persian Gulf War, and the vast presence of the US military in the Middle East,” with support for Israel listed first. Osama bin Laden is introduced to students as “a man named Osama bin Laden,” and the curriculum recommends his own “Letter to America” as high school reading material. What was, in Pennsylvania, one chapter’s guidance has become, in CAIR’s own national materials, a single endorsed curriculum built for every grade from kindergarten through college. President Trump Was Right: America Controls the Strait of Hormuz

U.S. Central Command confirms what Democrats and the Fake News have spent months denying: the United States — not the Islamic Republic of Iran — controls the Strait of Hormuz. American forces are keeping energy moving to the world while denying Tehran the revenue it needs to threaten global commerce.

- Iranian mines have been cleared from the Strait’s international shipping lanes.
- Nearly 1,500 commercial vessels have moved through under U.S. protection, carrying 750 million barrels of crude to the world.
- Iran has exported zero oil from its shores since the blockade resumed in July.
- 75 vessels that tried to break the blockade were turned around.
- Gulf oil exports have recovered to two-thirds of pre–operation levels — and continue to rise.

US Forces Sink Vessel Providing At-Sea Refueling for Cartel: SOUTHCOM
|
|
|
U.S. forces, on Aug. 28, sank a vessel in the eastern Pacific that the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said was serving as an at-sea refueling point for drug-trafficking boats.
SOUTHCOM, which oversees military operations in and around Central and South America, said U.S. forces worked in coordination with the government of Ecuador to track down the vessel.
“Intelligence confirmed the vessel, previously identified and targeted under Department of the Treasury sanctions, was operating in support of the Los Choneros violent narco-terrorist organization,” SOUTHCOM said in a press statement.
Los Choneros is one of more than a dozen Latin American transnational criminal enterprises that the U.S. government has designated as a foreign terrorist organization since the start of President Donald Trump’s second term.
According to SOUTHCOM, U.S. Marines and sailors launched from the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio to board and search the vessel, and did so without incident.
“Individuals removed from the vessel were safely escorted to Ecuador. Once cleared, U.S. forces sank the vessel,” SOUTHCOM said. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Trump vows response to Iranian strike on US troops in Jordan
|

US President Donald Trump says Washington will respond to Iran’s strikes last night on US forces in Jordan.
“We’re going to hit them hard,” Trump tells Fox News. “There will be a response.”
Hours earlier, Trump posted AI footage of an attack on Iran’s Kharg Island.
Iran launched missiles at a US base in Jordan in retaliation for Washington striking Iranian military’s assets, which the US says were preparing to drop mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump says almost all of the missiles launched by Iran were intercepted.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan claimed on Monday that the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement signed by his country with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan was not directed towards any country, while also saying that Prime Minister B enjamin Netanyahu was "an enemy of security and humanity."
He also claimed that Netanyahu had "committed the crime of genocide” and urged the international community to “fight against the Netanyahu threat.”

2. IDF warns of surge in Iranian-directed Hamas terror activity in Judea and Samaria - World Israel News
Israel’s security establishment has detected a significant increase in planned terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria, with signs pointing to heightened efforts by both Iran and Hamas to promote anti-Israel terrorism, Channel 12 reported.
According to the latest security assessments, Iran, Hamas terrorists abroad, and senior Hamas officials in the Gaza Strip are all involved in efforts to encourage attacks in Judea and Samaria.

Explosions were heard and interceptions were recorded in Jordan early Monday morning, following a launch attributed to Iran.
The explosions came after Iranian media reported that missiles were launched from Iran towards US bases in the kingdom.
A US source told Fox News that “nearly all incoming missiles have been intercepted at this point."
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the missile fire, announcing that it had targeted the US bases Al-Azraq and King Hussein in Jordan. According to the statement, the attacks were carried out using ballistic missiles.

Mansour Abbas and Yoav Segalovitz, a Jewish former police official, lawmaker and deputy minister, announced Monday evening that Segalovitz will run with Abbas’s Arab Ra’am party in the October 27 election.
The announcement capped weeks of speculation that Segalovitz would take the unprecedented step of joining with Ra’am. While the predominantly Arab party Hadash has long included a Jewish lawmaker, Ra’am has never done so.

The uptick in airfare is a striking sign of the intensity surrounding a vote that many Israelis see as among the most consequential in the country’s history.
Because Israel, unlike many democracies, generally does not allow citizens living abroad to cast absentee ballots, Israelis overseas who want to participate in the Oct. 27 election must physically return to the country.

1. Trump seeks to sanction Tehran into submission rather than renew MOU, sources say - Times of Israel
US President Donald Trump has lost interest in renewing June’s interim agreement with Iran and prefers to exert economic pressure to secure more favorable terms for ending the war, according to sources who spoke Thursday with The Times of Israel.
Trump himself told reporters his new sanctions against Iran could extend to Chinese banks that do business with it, and said there were no talks at all between the US and Iran right now, even as Tehran’s top diplomat hosted his Qatari counterpart, a key mediator, to discuss the Strait of Hormuz.
Former Mossad chief David Barnea, an architect of the US-Israeli war against Iran, meanwhile hailed Trump’s new sanctions but said there would be no choice but to “intensify the economic, diplomatic and operational actions” against the Iranian regime until it falls.
The sanctions, which US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent presented on Monday, target Iran’s digital assets and technology, gold, aviation and shipping sectors. Potential secondary sanctions would affect entities in the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Europe that transport Iranian oil.
A US official who spoke with The Times of Israel said Trump thinks sanctions will lead the Iranian regime to capitulate to more favorable terms on curbing its nuclear program and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. (Read more here)

3. Trump names Ben Moss, who was president of Jewish group in law school, White House staff secretary - JNS.org
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that Ben Moss, deputy staff secretary at the White House, would become assistant to the president and staff secretary effective on Sept. 2.
Moss, whom the president credited with doing a “tremendous” job in the deputy role, succeeds Will Scharf, who is now White House counsel.
Scharf is Jewish. Moss states on his LinkedIn page that as a student at University of Chicago Law School, where he earned a J.D. in 2018, he was president of the Jewish Law Students Association.
“Ben has been tremendous as deputy staff secretary and, before that, as policy director to the vice president,” Trump stated. “Ben started in government as general counsel to JD Vance in the United States Senate, after serving as a law clerk to a highly respected federal appeals court judge, and a lawyer in private practice.”
The staff secretary’s office “prepares the daily briefing book, which requires close coordination with each component of the White House” and “ensures that the details surrounding presidential actions, speeches, events, correspondence and press releases are properly vetted,” according to the White House. 4. Congo's Ebola outbreak spreads to 2 new health zones - AP News
BUNIA, Congo (AP) — The fastest-growing Ebola outbreak in history has spread to two new health zones in eastern Congo, with a total of 60 now affected, according to the latest government figures published on Friday.
The two new zones affected are Biena and Manguredjipa in Congo’s North Kivu province, where the case fatality rate is much higher than the overall rate of 48%, due in part to delayed response efforts, according to Congo’s Ministry of Health data.
It said the outbreak has recorded 5,794 confirmed cases, including 2,786 deaths, as it is spreading at an unprecedented speed, faster than efforts to track and slow it.
The outbreak is spreading under extremely difficult conditions, fueled by insecurity, displacement, a health workers’ strike and intense population movements. The World Health Organization has said that it remains out of control and is on track to surpass the 2014-2016 West Africa Ebola outbreak, the deadliest on record, which killed more than 11,000 people, primarily in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. 5. On islands key to Taiwan's defense, troops prepare for a Chinese first strike - Reuters
PENGHU, Taiwan - In the pre-dawn darkness on an island in the Taiwan Strait, Taiwanese troops earlier this month pulled long, gleaming 105mm shells from their green plastic canisters. After all the ammunition had been checked and safely loaded through hatches on four tanks, troops waited silently for the order to fire.
The soldiers are among the thousands of troops that form a garrison on the Penghu Islands and they are training for war with China. If Beijing decides to attack, they will be on Taiwan’s frontline.
A popular tourist destination known for its pristine beaches and coral reefs, this strategically crucial cluster of 90 islands and islets, about 50km off the southwest coast of the main island of Taiwan, would be hit in the first wave of an attempted Chinese invasion, according to senior Taiwanese security officials and military experts.
For Taiwan, holding Penghu would allow its forces to resist a Chinese invasion fleet heading towards the main island of Taiwan, the security experts said. To ensure that Chinese ships and planes don’t become targets, Beijing must seize Penghu or destroy the garrison’s long-range missiles. (Read more here)

6. Nepali churches reach cut-off valleys by mountain bike as Himalayan floods leave hundreds dead - Christian Post
Christian relief teams have begun moving into remote valleys of northern Nepal after a torrent of water, mud, rock and ice swept through Himalayan river settlements on Aug. 26, killing hundreds of people and leaving more than 1,400 missing across Nepal and the Tibet region of China.
Nepal's foreign minister, Shisir Khanal, described the flooding as one of the worst disasters the country has faced in recent memory, telling reporters that entire towns had been erased within a couple of hours.
Nepali churches and international Christian agencies working through them have begun moving food, water and shelter materials into the district. Roads and bridges across the affected area have been destroyed, and several communities can now be reached only by air. (Read more here)

Ki Tavo: The Covenant Still Speaks

Deuteronomy 26:1–29:9, Ki Tavo, “When You Come,” brings Moses toward the conclusion of the covenant provisions. When Israel enters the land, the people are to bring their first fruits to ADONAI at the central Sanctuary, remembering who provided the land and its increase. Their tithes also care for the Levites, foreigners, orphans, and widows. Covenant faithfulness reaches both upward toward God and outward toward neighbor. Moses reminds Israel that covenant is a mutual pledge. They will walk in God’s ways, keep His commandments, and obey His voice. In turn, He declares them “His own unique treasure.” Their identity, prosperity, and calling are forever connected to their relationship with the LORD.
The scene then becomes dramatic. Stones bearing the words of Torah are to be erected in the land, while the tribes gather on Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal to proclaim covenant blessings and curses. Faithfulness brings blessing. Disloyalty brings consequences. Rabbi Jonathan Sacks observed that Israel’s fate would become an ongoing commentary on its relationship with God and the sacred and social ideals to which it had committed itself as a holy people. Deuteronomy 28 echoes the Tokhaha, or “reprimand,” of Leviticus 26, warning what would happen if Israel abandoned the covenant. History gives those warnings sobering weight: “They shall become a sign and a wonder to you and to your descendants forever” (Deuteronomy 28:46). ICE arrests jumped to nearly 50,000 in July
|

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested nearly 50,000 people in July, the highest single monthly arrest total during the second Trump administration, according to new figures.
The spike in immigration arrests shows that the administration has continued to advance its mass deportations agenda despite a shift in approach earlier this year from high-profile operations in large American cities that sparked a public outcry to arrests that have garnered less attention but have nonetheless been disruptive.
The July arrest tally of 49,571 marks a 15% jump from 43,021 arrests a month earlier and a 70% increase from 29,241 in February, in the aftermath of the Trump administration’s enforcement surge in Minnesota, according to government data that was provided by ICE to the Deportation Data Project based at U.C. Berkeley and UCLA and analyzed by The Associated Press.
As part of the surging arrest numbers over recent weeks and bolstered by a hiring surge, ICE has made arrests at traffic stops. The agency has increasingly relied on state and local law enforcement partners who are assuming immigration enforcement duties. And ICE officers have started to arrest people from Haiti who’ve seen their protections from deportation stripped away.
The new arrest numbers show the administration “didn’t stop the enforcement,” said Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies, which advocates for more immigration restrictions.

Blue State Moves To Recognize Islamic Holiday Celebrating Ritual Slaughter

A bill designating Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as official California state holidays is nearing final passage, with the state Senate expected to vote before the legislative session ends this week.
Assembly Bill 2017, authored by Assemblymember Matt Haney (D-San Francisco) and co-authored by Sen. Aisha Wahab, would add the two Islamic holy days to California’s list of state holidays, allowing workers to use existing paid leave to take the days off. Public schools and community colleges could also choose to close for the observances under agreements with employee unions, and the measure creates a mandatory excused-absence category for students who miss school to observe Eid.
Eid al-Adha, translated as the “Festival of the Sacrifice,” traditionally involves the ritual slaughter of livestock — typically a sheep, goat, cow or camel — in commemoration of Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son. The meat is customarily divided among family and the needy, a practice known as “qurbani.” Eid al-Fitr, or the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” falls at the end of Ramadan, the month in which observant Muslims abstain from food and drink between dawn and sunset.
The bill cleared the Assembly by a 64-1 vote late in May and has since moved through Senate committee review. Haney, who introduced the legislation in March during Ramadan, has said the measure addresses a gap in state law affecting California’s roughly 500,000 Muslim residents.
“California is home to one of the largest and most vibrant Muslim communities in the country,” Haney said in a press release announcing the bill. “AB 2017 is about making sure Muslim Californians are seen, valued, and treated with the same dignity as every other community in our state.”
The legislation has drawn opposition over a provision authorizing the State Board of Education to develop optional curriculum for classroom activities marking the holidays. Greg Burt, vice president of the California Family Council, has argued the provision crosses a line from teaching about religion into promoting it, telling Fox News Digital the bill amounts to schools “encouraging the celebration of a religious holiday.” The council, which says it represents thousands of constituents and more than 2,000 churches statewide, has also questioned where te state would draw the line on recognizing additional religious holidays. As U.S. and Iran Resume Hostilities, Trump Threatens Kharg Energy Hub

DUBAI (Reuters) - An Iranian official dismissed as "laughable" on Monday a post by Donald Trump of an AI-generated video clip that the U.S. president said showed Iran's oil hub Kharg Island being "blown to smithereens."
Hours after Sunday's post, there was no evidence Kharg had been attacked. The White House and the U.S. Defense Department did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment outside regular business hours.
Trump's post came shortly after the U.S. and Iran resumed hostilities for the first time since late July, further denting hopes for any early resolution of a conflict now in its sixth month and driving oil prices nearly 2% higher on Monday.
U.S. forces on Sunday struck two Iranian launchers on Iran's Larak Island, some 660 km (410 miles) east of Kharg, a U.S. official said, prompting Iran to retaliate by attacking two U.S. bases in Jordan, according to Iranian media.
"Kharg Island being blown to smithereens!!! President DJT," Trump had said on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, with no further details.
Reuters confirmed that an accompanying video clip showing dramatic explosions was most likely synthetically generated, using software that detects AI-manipulated imagery.
"Trump’s tweets are laughable and conditions in Kharg are calm and appropriate," Hamid Bovard, chief executive of government-run National Iranian Oil Co, said on Monday.
Oil operations have not stopped and workers were busy repairing previous damage and modernizing facilities, he added in comments cited by Nournews, a semi-official outlet close to Iran's top security body. (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

Lawmakers Introducing Flock Bills Left And Right: What Would Each Do?

Lawmakers have introduced several bills to restrict Flock Safety cameras and automated license plate readers (ALPRs).
Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle opposed Flock cameras and put forth legislation to restrict them, although no one has put forth a bill as of Thursday that would completely ban them. All of the bills introduced thus far would place restrictions on using ALPRs at the federal and local level, and some lawmakers have floated the idea of outright banning these technologies.
Republican Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett introduced the “Protection Against Mass Surveillance Act” in July, which would ban federal agencies from using automated surveillance. If passed, no agency would be permitted to “purchase, deploy, operate, access, or contract any automated surveillance system.”
Mike Fox, a legal fellow with the CATO Institute’s Project on Criminal Justice, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the bill likely would not pass because congressional Republicans would face pressure from federal law enforcement agencies. He commended Burchett for bringing forth the bill, stating it would curtail the government’s ability to surveil the public.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Secret Service and other agencies accessed or used ALPR systems, which included commercial networks such as Flock. The agencies used facial recognition Technology, AI-enhanced analytics, drones, biometric systems and camera networks.
A Government Accountability Office (GAO) report from December 2024 revealed that several agencies did not apply appropriate civil rights and privacy safeguards when handling citizens’ personal data.
“I haven’t seen any elected members of Congress come out in support of Flock cameras,” Fox told the DCNF. “But who has really come out in support of Flock cameras are other law enforcement agencies, and I would expect if Congressman Burchett’s bill moves forward, which I have a feeling it won’t, you’re going to get the Office of Legislative Affairs at and the Department of Homeland Security, are probably gonna be hugely opposed because this bill dramatically limits the ability of them to surveil the public, which is precisely why it’s such a good bill.” (The Daily Caller) Read more here.

While we do not fully understand exactly what this bill entails yet, we know that You do. We pray that only Your will be done to protect the privacy of the American people in the "Protection Against Mass Surveillance Act" by Republican Rep. Tim Burchett that would ban federal agencies from using automated surveillance. We see how this bill could really help law enforcement or ICE to arrest those who commit crimes but we ask, Father, that You would place a temporary halt on this bill concerning Flock cameras until it is determined how it will affect our individual rights to privacy. Lord, we pray that You would watch over this bill and that everything hidden in the bill would be revealed before it reaches fruition.

Putin's Next Move: Europe Is Preparing For Something Bigger

Something has changed in the atmosphere surrounding the war in Ukraine.
For more than four years, Western governments have worried about escalation with Russia while operating under one critical assumption: the war could be contained. Ukraine would fight, Europe and America would supply weapons, Russia would threaten retaliation, and NATO would reinforce its eastern frontier.
But the fighting itself would remain largely inside Ukraine.
Recent developments are raising uncomfortable questions about how much longer that assumption will hold.
Ukrainian officials now say Russian military leaders have been ordered to prepare several possible operational scenarios for a new offensive in northern Ukraine, including the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. That does not mean such an offensive is imminent, nor does it mean Russia has assembled the enormous force necessary to capture Kyiv.
- But Kyiv appearing again in Russian military planning should get everyone's attention.
- The Ukrainian capital was the great prize Vladimir Putin failed to take in 2022.
- What happens if Russia decides to threaten it again?
- And perhaps more importantly, what happens if this time Ukraine begins to buckle?
- The answer could extend far beyond Ukraine.
Putin Needs A Way To Change The War
Russia has spent years grinding forward at enormous cost, capturing territory village by village while Ukraine increasingly strikes military, energy and infrastructure targets deep inside Russia.
But if Putin ultimately wants to bring this war to an end on Russian terms, capturing another handful of towns in eastern Ukraine may not produce the political shock necessary to force Kyiv into submission.
Threatening the capital would be different.
Even without capturing Kyiv, opening another northern front could force Ukraine to redistribute troops, stretch already limited air defenses and create enormous psychological pressure on the government.
