Israel celebrates first Rosh Hashanah since Oct. 7 Hamas massacre without hostages in Gaza
|
|
|
Israeli Jews marked Rosh Hashanah from sunset on Friday, in the first Jewish New Year since the Hamas assault on October 7, 2023, without any hostages in Gaza or major fighting in the Strip or elsewhere. Still, conflicts on several fronts remain on a low boil, and the military was on alert in case of escalation in the war with Iran. “Last Rosh Hashanah eve, we asked for a better year to come. But before any other requests, there was one simple, clear request above all: that all of our hostages would come home,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video published to his personal X account.
It was shortly after the Jewish New Year in 2025 that the US-brokered ceasefire deal secured the return home of the last 20 living hostages whom the Hamas terror group abducted in its October 7, 2023, invasion of Israel, and held captive in the Strip. Netanyahu, with uplifting music in the background, surveyed Israel’s military accomplishments over the last year, declaring: “Do you know another nation that fights on seven fronts and wins on all of them?” – though the claim was sure to come under scrutiny, as Israel has not secured the promised “total victory” on its major fronts in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. Hundreds of IRGC officers aid Houthis on ground in Yemen, war enters ‘more dangerous phase
|

The war in Yemen has entered "a new and more dangerous phase," the United Nations special envoy for the country warned the U.N. Security Council on Thursday and amid reports that Iranian military officers are now operating alongside Houthi forces on the ground.
Hans Grundberg’s comments followed reports that Houthi rebels had seized the Red Sea port city of Mocha, which sits roughly 45 miles north of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Yemeni government, Iranian and regional sources also told Reuters that the Houthi advance down the coast this week had direct guidance from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
U.S. officials believe hundreds of IRGC officers are currently inside Yemen, working alongside the Houthis to help close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, CNN reported Thursday.
Officials also told the network that more than 100 U.S. military advisers are said to be on the ground in Saudi Arabia assisting the kingdom as Tehran steps up efforts to support Houthi attacks. (Fox News) Read more

Virginia School Bans Teachers From Blaming Islamists for 9/11
|
|
A prominent Virginia school district is facing criticism for guidance instructing teachers not to associate the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with Islam or Muslims — prompting a retired Navy vice admiral who survived the attack on the Pentagon to accuse educators of watering down history.
Fairfax County Public Schools distributed a six-page instructional guide titled “25th Anniversary and Commemoration of 9/11” ahead of Thursday’s anniversary, according to Fox News Digital. The guide contains a list of “Do” and “Don’t” instructions for teachers, including directives not to “associate the 9/11 attacks with Islam or Muslims” and not to “center the extremists or the acts of the extremists.”
Retired Navy Vice Adm. Lou Crenshaw, who was inside the Pentagon when American Airlines Flight 77 slammed into the building, told Fox News Digital the approach was “sort of a vanilla way to do things.”
“We need to make sure that the kids have learned a lesson here,” Crenshaw said. “And that’s not going to happen if we try to shave the facts to the point where it’s hard to figure out what we’re talking about.”
Fox News reported that roughly half of the 1,740-word FCPS document deals with creating “safe spaces for Muslim and Middle Eastern students,” while about 15 percent specifically addresses instruction about the attacks. The guide reportedly contains 30 references to Islam, Muslims, Islamophobia or Middle Eastern students and families, compared with three references to military families and one to first responders. Lord, as all who served that fateful day are aware, the truth about the terrorists’ evil ideology must be taught to our children. Truth matters, not covering it by pandering to those who hate America. We will be doomed to repeat the mistakes if we do not remember who attacked our people on 9-11-2001. We ask that this decision be countered by repentance, and the presence of Your Holy Spirit to change minds and hearts.

Trump DOJ Forces Six States to End In-State Tuition for Illegal Migrants While Suing 15 More States
|
|
One of the more successful initiatives coming down from the Trump administration has been the effort to put a stop to the practice of states offering special college tuition deals to illegal migrants.
To date, the administration has taken six states to court and won, forcing those states to end their in-state tuition offerings to illegals and their non-resident children.
With the most recent decision in Kansas, the states that have been forced to put a stop to the special tuition deals include Texas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Illinois. The Department of Justice (DOJ) lost one effort in Minnesota, but the ruling is being appealed to the 8th Circuit.
There are still a large group of states that have the policy in place, including Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The DOJ is suing most of these states, as well.
In August the DOJ announced that 21 states were being hauled into court for giving illegals and their children the cut-rate tuition deals to state supported colleges and universities.
Federal law prohibits this practice because it isn’t constitutional to offer non-citizens a state-funded deal that American citizens cannot enjoy. But many states passed laws allowing for illegals to get low tuition deals knowing full well that federal law prohibited it, but assuming that no presidential administration would ever dare challenge the policies. Report: Elaine Chao Held Roles At CCP Agency While In Bush, Trump Cabinets
|
|
Americans may know Elaine Chao as the former Bush and Trump-era cabinet official whose husband led the Senate Republican conference for more than two decades, but her involvement in government didn’t stop with roles in the United States. According to an explosive new Daily Caller News Foundation report, Chao “received at least four Chinese government positions since 2008.”
Several of these roles, first documented by the Chinese government and media, were in divisions of the “Chinese Communist Party (CCP) organ” the United Front Work Department (UFWD), which is known for its espionage and influence operations designed to sway global conversations and policy to align with CCP leader Xi Jinping’s political goals. The UFWD prides itself on co-opting Chinese nationals living overseas, particularly through “elite capture and public diplomacy,” to “advance Chinese influence, power and access to technology abroad.”
At least two of the Chao’s titles with UFWD-affiliated organizations appear to have overlapped with her time as a U.S. cabinet official.
“United front work damages U.S. interests through legal and illegal technology transfer, surveillance of Chinese diaspora communities, promotion of favorable narratives about the PRC through ostensibly independent voices, and the neutralization or harassment of critics of the CCP,” one memorandum from Congress’ select committee on the Chinese Communist Party detailed.
One of Chao’s alleged appointments, as advisor and fifth council committee member of the UFWD’s All-China Federation Of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFORC), partially coincided with her time as Trump’s Transportation Secretary. During that same period, 2012 to 2017, reporting suggests Chao and her father were also advisors to the UFWD’s China Overseas Friendship Association (COFA) located in Shanghai’s Jiading District. Lord, a dangerous adversary like China should never have been allowed to be as close to a United States official as this case implies. We ask that discernment and wisdom prevail against such situations in the future. We also ask that this lady’s actions be prevented from damaging US National Security. We pray for repentance.

As others wept while the names of those killed in the 9/11 attacks were read, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were all smiles.
Video from the 25th anniversary remembrance of the day terrorists flew into New York City’s World Trade Center showed Mamdani and Ocasio-Cortez laughing and smiling as the names were read.
The Daily Mail noted that “The Democrats were seen bursting into laughter at the solemn Ground Zero event in lower Manhattan on Friday, as mourners stood silently around them.”
“At the same moment, loved ones of the victims of the attacks were reading names of the deceased, and others were seen crying at the memorial,” it reported.
The Mail noted that multiple groups had requested Mamdani not attend, saying that his record showed he cared more about the terrorists than their victims.

Lord, this display of contempt for those who were killed on 9-11 should not be tolerated. Over 100,000 people demanded that Mamdani not attend, and this kind of disrespect from these two should be grounds for removal from office. We ask for a move of true repentance – not lip service – which is the common way folks like this respond to criticism.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday extended a Shana Tova—a happy Jewish New Year—to U.S. President Donald Trump, his family and the American people.

3. Israel on alert as Houthis expand positions near Red Sea - World Israel News
Israel has increased its naval preparedness as Iran-backed Houthi forces expand their positions near the Red Sea and strengthen their hold around the Bab el-Mandab Strait, a development Israeli defense officials view as a potential threat to Israel and international shipping, Ynet reported.
Navy commander Vice Adm. Eyal Harel ordered heightened readiness throughout the service’s command-and-control network, while senior commanders increased the naval presence at sea to reduce the risk of an unexpected maritime attack.
The Houthis’ growing influence around Bab el-Mandab has become a particular concern for the Israeli defense establishment because of the strait’s importance as a global trade route. (Read more)

4. IDF accuses Lebanese army of taking only ‘cosmetic’ action against Hezbollah

The IDF continues to criticize the Lebanese army’s handling of the memorandum of understanding reached between Beirut and Jerusalem in Rome, arguing that Lebanon has not taken sufficient action against Hezbollah’s military infrastructure.
“They are going around in circles,” a senior Israeli official familiar with the details of the understandings said on Sunday. “The Lebanese army is very afraid to move against Hezbollah, collect weapons, destroy infrastructure, which is what is actually expected of it,” the official added.
The official said the Lebanese army has already failed to meet expectations. “They are dealing with cosmetics when it comes to Hezbollah. They are not addressing its roots in southern Lebanon and are leaving the work to the IDF or to time, hoping that the fall of the regime in Tehran will lead to a domino effect.” (Read more)

The IDF rejected allegations presented in the Israeli documentary NAZA, saying the film relies on anonymous testimony that cannot be independently verified and includes claims that contradict IDF procedures.
“The IDF categorically rejects these allegations," the IDF Spokesperson said following the publication of the film.

1. Undercover video exposes Dem Senate nominee's plan to embrace socialists: 'Got to be together'- Fox
Roy Cooper, the former North Carolina governor and a Democratic candidate for the Senate, believes his party should incorporate a big-tent approach to an emerging wave of socialist candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
When asked if he would sign the Promise to America, a repudiation of socialist stances put out by moderate Democrats, Cooper said he wouldn’t.
"I don’t see any need to," Cooper said in video footage obtained by Fox News Digital.
"I think the party needs a wide spectrum, particularly at a time when the Republican Party is shrinking and having all kinds of loyalty tests. I think we need to have all kinds of folks to be a part of our party."
Cooper’s comment comes as he wages a bid to fill the seat of retiring Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., and win over a historically Republican-leaning state. It also raises questions of whether moderate Democrats believe their platforms can coexist with the aims of the DSA.
The DSA espouses positions like abolishing the U.S. Senate, establishing public ownership of corporations and abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to its website. (Read more)

More than 9,500 people have died from illnesses linked to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks — more than three times the number murdered on 9/11 itself — as the attacks continue claiming lives 25 years later, according to renowned 9/11 attorney Michael Barasch.
“I lose two clients a day, just in my law firm alone, to 9/11 illnesses,” Barasch, managing partner of Barasch & McGarry, which represents more than 40,000 9/11 victims and their families, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview Thursday.
The toll, he noted, has long since eclipsed the 2,977 people murdered in the attacks.
“Over 9,500 people have now died of 9/11 illnesses. That’s three times as many who died on 9/11,” Barasch explained. “So while I get it — a lot of people think that an anniversary is only one day — it’s certainly not the case for the 9/11 community.”
The nation on Friday marks a quarter-century since al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four passenger jets on September 11, 2001, crashing two into New York’s World Trade Center, another into the Pentagon, and a fourth into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

3. Top GOP senator reveals what Dem colleagues are fretting about behind closed doors- Fox News
As Republicans huddle for a last show of unity before the home stretch of the midterm elections, a top Senate Republican revealed what his Democratic colleagues are predicting about the future of their party.
Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, R-Wyo., told Fox News Digital that in private, his colleagues across the aisle are wringing their hands over the insurgent progressive wave that has fast become the standard-bearer of the Democratic Party during this election cycle.
"It's surprising how the energy of the Democrat Party has moved to the far, far left," Barrasso said during an interview at the Republican National Committee midterm convention.
"Those are the people that are driving the party. And the concern that I have, talking to other colleagues in the Senate, who they’ll say that is the future of their party," he continued.
Republicans are trying to fight against history and anxious voters feeling the crunch on their wallets, and as the war in Iran continues to sputter on without a clear end in sight.

4. Massachusetts' highest court publicly reprimands judge accused of enabling immigrant to escape ICE - Fox News
The highest court in Massachusetts has publicly rebuked a district court judge over her role in a case involving an illegal immigrant who evaded arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
For Judge Shelley Joseph, the decision brings to a close a legal saga that began on April 2, 2018, when Jose Medina-Perez left the Newton District Court through a rear courthouse exit all while an ICE officer was waiting in the lobby to take him into custody.
The Supreme Judicial Court's ruling centered on a sidebar with Medina-Perez's attorney and the prosecutor during which Joseph instructed her clerk to shut off the courtroom's recording system.
"The respondent's statements during that conversation, including her proposal to detain Medina-Perez overnight in State custody, and her conduct in instructing the clerk to turn off the courtroom audio recording system, created an appearance of impropriety in violation of her duties," according to the Thursday ruling from the Supreme Judicial Court. 5. Trump signs legislation that allows creation of Medal of Honor monument on National Mall- Just the News
President Donald Trump signed legislation in Texas on Thursday that authorizes the future National Medal of Honor Monument to be located within the Reserve of the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Trump signed the Hershel "Woody" Williams National Medal of Honor Monument Location Act during a ceremony honoring Medal of Honor recipients in Arlington, which occurred after he toured the museum and met more than a dozen recipients.
The legislation does not create the monument itself but authorizes it to be built near the Lincoln Memorial.
The act is named after Williams, who was the last surviving World War II Medal of Honor recipient before he died in 2022, and who received the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of Iwo Jima, according to Fox News.
"In the Battle of Iwo Jima, he carved a path to American victory, literally carved a path so soldiers could get in and win through a deadly gantlet of enemy strongholds," Trump said of Williams.
"And back and forth, he went. He just kept going back and forth," he continued. "And one machine gun nest after another. He knocked [them] out, and he did it for hours and hours. People said they've never seen anything quite like it." (Read more)

6. Afghan Deported in First-Ever Use of Alien Terrorist Court - The Epoch Times
An Afghan national has been removed from the United States for her role in planning an ISIS-inspired mass shooting on Election Day in 2024, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said on Friday.
Nazira Haji Zada’s deportation was carried out through the long-dormant Alien Terrorist Removal Court, marking the first case ever brought before it. The announcement of the Afghan woman’s removal comes on the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
“This landmark case, resulting in the prompt removal of this alien terrorist to her country of origin, is a win for national security and the rule of law,” Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a news release.
The Alien Terrorist Removal Court issued the woman’s order of removal on Aug. 20, but that document was unsealed on Friday following her deportation to Afghanistan.
Zada is now permanently banned from ever returning to the United States, the DOJ said. (Read more)

Wisconsin congressman and candidate-for-governor Tom Tiffany and a pilot sustained only minor injuries after having to make an emergency water landing in a four-seat Bonanza airplane late Saturday night near Wausau.
Tiffany said in a statement that he was returning from the La Crosse County Lincoln Day Dinner when the plane lost power and was forced to land on Lake Wausau.
"After landing, we called 911," Tiffany said in a statement. "As the plane began to submerge, we exited the aircraft and swam to a shallow area, where we waited until emergency responders reached us by boat."
Tiffany and the unnamed pilot were taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital and were treated for minor injuries.
"God was watching over us tonight, and I am incredibly grateful to be here in the hospital with my wife, Chris, by my side," Tiffany said. "An experience like this reminds you just how precious life is."
Tiffany thanked the Wausau Fire Department for quick action along with other first responders.

Acting Navy secretary admits Iran ‘blew the hell’ out of Bahrain logistics hub

Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao confirmed this week that a major American military hub in Bahrain was badly damaged by Iranian attacks — and he was unsure whether keeping US forces there is feasible long-term.
“They blow the hell out of Bahrain,” Cao told the Epoch Times in an interview published Thursday, referring to Naval Support Activity Bahrain, home of the US Fifth Fleet and US Central Command’s waterborne forces.
Cao added that “I have a task force looking at” whether the base could or should be restored, the first official confirmation of the extent of combat damage to the facility.
Iran Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi taunted Cao in a post on X early Friday, saying: “We appreciate the candor of Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao. Our powerful Armed Forces did indeed ‘blow the hell out of the 5th Fleet HQ in Bahrain,’ as well as other bases supporting U.S. aggression. The mother of Sheridan Gorman, a young college student who was fatally shot by an illegal immigrant in the sanctuary city of Chicago earlier this year, took the stage at the RNC midterm convention on Thursday and shared a message about loving America that went beyond politics.
As she fought through tears on the stage in Dallas, Jessica Gorman shared the advice of “a fellow angel mom” about unifying the country.
“A fellow angel mom, Patti Fox, recently said you need to love America, Americans more than you hate Trump,” Jessica said while joined by her husband Tom and Sheridan’s sister Madeline.
“Patti, God bless you and your daughter, Carissa. You are so right. We need to love our country and our children enough to come together regardless of which party or person is in charge. We do,” she said.
Sheridan, an 18-year-old Loyola University freshman, was walking with friends to see the Northern Lights around 1 a.m. on March 19 when she was killed. Venezuelan illegal immigrant Jose Medina-Medina, 25, allegedly approached Gorman wearing a black mask before shooting her as she tried to run.
Medina-Medina crossed the border illegally in May 2023 and was released into the country by federal authorities, who were instructed to implement the Biden administration’s then-policy of “catch and release.” At the time, Border Patrol agents noted that Medina-Medina was “likely to abscond,” saying that he had “close family ties or roots in this country,” according to federal documents previously released by the House Judiciary Committee. White House border czar Tom Homan confirmed on "The Sunday Briefing" that the Department of Homeland Security is looking into allegations involving Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., but would not disclose details about what he described as an "ongoing criminal investigation."
Pressed on whether the federal government has evidence that Omar committed immigration or naturalization fraud, Homan declined to comment.
"I know things are going on, but I can't give specifics of what's happening," Homan said.
"If someone committed an immigration violation, if someone committed marriage fraud or anything like that, regardless if they're a congressman or not, no one's above the law. So, I'll leave it at that. We'll let HSI, Homeland Security Investigations, continue the investigation."
When subsequently asked directly whether he was confirming an investigation involving Omar, Homan replied, "I'm confirming that ICE is, yeah — look, I said months ago that there's something that's been reported and needs to be looked at."
Omar has long been dogged by allegations that she married a man that critics allege is her brother as part of an immigration scheme. Omar has repeatedly denied the allegation, and the claim has not been proven in public records. In December, she dismissed the claims as "bigoted lies," writing on social media that Trump was obsessed with her.
Vice President JD Vance said in May that the Justice Department was looking into whether Omar committed immigration fraud.
"You read the things about Ilhan Omar … who she married and whether she didn't marry this person or that person," Vance said then. "It certainly seems like something fishy is there, but everybody's entitled to equal justice under the law."
The vice president's comments follow his own podcast interview in March, during which he told conservative commentator Benny Johnson he had spoken with White House immigration advisor Stephen Miller about potential legal action against Omar.
"We think Ilhan Omar definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America," Vance said at the time. (Fox News) Read more here.

Archaeologists believe they've identified a lost city tied to Jesus Christ's ministry after a decade of excavations, with the project's academic director saying he's "100%" certain about the discovery.
The El-Araj Excavation Project, led by Mordechai Aviam, has been digging at the archaeological site along the Sea of Galilee since 2016.
Bethsaida, close to Jesus' ministry in Capernaum, was once the home of the apostles Peter, Andrew and Philip.
The city was the setting of several of Jesus' miracles, including the healing of a blind man.
Jesus' feeding of the 5,000 took place on Bethsaida's outskirts, according to the Gospels.
Over the past decade, researchers have uncovered extensive evidence of an ancient Jewish fishing settlement and Roman-era city at the El-Araj site.
This year's excavation opened new areas of the site, revealing additional Roman period remains and pottery, Steven Notley, a biblical scholar and academic director of the El-Araj Excavation Project, told Fox News Digital.
Researchers have also recovered over 200 coins, which are being studied to help date the settlement.
Notley, dean of religious studies at Pillar College in New Jersey, said an unexpected wildfire last year helped researchers gain a better understanding of the size of the ancient settlement.
"We actually had a wildfire, which at first we thought was tragic," Notley said. "But it actually cleared the underbrush and allowed us to do an extended survey to determine the size of the settlement. It's at least 15 acres."
The team has also uncovered Jewish stone vessels, a Roman bathhouse and a Byzantine basilica containing an inscription linked to the Apostle Peter. (Fox News) Read More
