Archaeologists make 'significant' discovery near biblical pool where Jesus healed a blind man
|
|
Structure found near Pool of Siloam is largest of its kind in Israel, dates back some 2,800 years
|
|
Archaeologists have discovered an ancient dam in Jerusalem's City of David, not far from the body of water where Jesus famously healed a blind man.
Officials noted in an Aug. 30 release that the wall was recently found during excavations near the Pool of Siloam within the Jerusalem Walls National Park.
The Pool of Siloam, rediscovered in 2004, existed as a basin fed by the Gihon Spring. The Gospel of John recounts the testimony of a blind man who was healed by Jesus at the pool.
John 9:10–11 states, "'How then were your eyes opened?' they asked. He replied, 'The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.'"
The newly discovered dam dates to the ninth century B.C., nearly 2,800 years ago. It could have been built under the reign of either King Joash or King Amaziah, according to officials.
The dam was found as part of a joint study between the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) and the Weizmann Institute of Science. The team published its research in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) on Aug. 25.
Remarkably, the dam is the largest ever discovered in Israel and the oldest in Jerusalem.
In a statement, IAA Director Eli Escusido called the dam "one of the most impressive and significant First Temple-period remains in Jerusalem."
He added, "In recent years, Jerusalem has been revealed more than ever before, with all its periods, layers and cultures – and many surprises still await us." (Fox News) Read more

- Father God, we acknowledge that this discovery is not only amazing in its own right, but also the fact that this discovery has now come to light at a time when our own nation needs healing! Father God, we ask that a fresh anointing of this dam, the Pool of Siloam, be released among our own people, so all may see and receive Your own healing touch! Let us cease from fighting against one another and instead, "lay down arms" and enter into productive dialogue that will bring us all closer to the Truth of Your Word. We ask this prayer in Your name, Holy One, amen and amen.
- "By His stripes, we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)
- "Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?"

When the World Breaks Us, How Can We Cope?
|
|
Oh, how precious life is, and how awful is the pain we endure. This broken world delivers blows that sometimes feel impossible to recover from. How do we cope when tragedy strikes? How do we find light when darkness seems to reign?
Charlie Kirk was more than a name. He was a devout follower of Jesus Christ, a husband to Erika, a father to two young children. Through Turning Point USA, the organization he founded, he championed a simple yet profound idea: “When people stop talking, really bad stuff starts.” Charlie lived for open dialogue, for the fearless exchange of ideas, for truth pursued through reason and respect. I spent months watching his debates, captivated by his eloquence, his courage to engage any opponent, and his unapologetic love for God and country. He preached the gospel with a fire that stirred souls. And now, that voice has been silenced. Assassinated in front of thousands at Utah Valley University, Charlie’s life was stolen in a calculated act of evil. And it hurts.
Today, America weeps. Not only those who knew Charlie personally, but every heart that saw in him a man who stood for something greater, a man who did not deserve this fate. We grieve for his family, now navigating an unimaginable void. We grieve because this act open our eyes to the depths of evil in our midst.
This week, we lost Charlie Kirk to what Utah’s governor called a “political assassination.” In recent weeks, we’ve mourned Iryna Zarutska, a Ukrainian refugee seeking a new life; children gunned down in a Colorado high school; young souls taken at a Catholic Mass in Minneapolis — all stolen by cold-blooded violence. The weight of these losses crushes us, forcing us to ask: How do we endure in a world so fractured, so stained by hate and violence?
(Key points):
1. This world is fallen, and pain is inevitable, but God understands suffering.
2. God can — and does — use tragedy for good.
As Genesis 50:20 declares, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.”
“Where, o death, is your victory? Where, o grave, is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55).
3. This broken world is not our home.
Together, as one people united in Christ, we will live in the fulfillment of Revelation 22:
“No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.”
Oh, weary soul, take heart. If you’re alive now, God is still using you — and right now counts forever until He calls you home. And before long, “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

A Tough Week for Fathers: Reflections on the Slayings of Charlie Kirk and Iryna Zarutska
|
|
It’s been a tough week for fathers, especially the fathers of little girls. Every good father, no doubt, saw his own little girl in those images of Iryna. And every good father, no doubt, saw himself in those images of Charlie. The world is a dangerous place, full of cruelty and horror, and it just became a little more dangerous, a little crueler, and a little more horrific. Fathers have a unique and irreplaceable role in this world. We are the first, last, and strongest bulwark against the cruelty and horror which threatens to engulf us. It is the responsibility of fathers to raise good sons, to raise boys to be men, men of virtue, men of honor, men of strength. It is the responsibility of fathers to protect daughters, to keep these girls safe in body, mind, and soul.
It’s been a tough week for fathers and there is, certainly, much to fear. But even beyond the fear, the events of the last week should serve as a grim inspiration for fathers to be the best man that you can be, to raise your sons and daughters well, and to protect your family. The world is a dangerous place, full of cruelty and horror, but the quiet strength and devotion of fathers will, with time and endurance, make the world a less dangerous and less cruel place and may be enough to banish at least some of the horrors. Perhaps the children who call out for daddy to come get rid of the monsters under the bed see a greater truth than they know. (The Washington Stand) Excerpt. Go here.

- Father God, we do lift up the fathers in our nation today, asking that a mantle of Your divine peace would rest upon each one. We call forth Your wisdom to enfold
each of their minds, and Your comfort to embrace each of their hearts. Come, Lord Jesus, and minister Your grace to each one. We ask this in Your name, amen and amen.
- “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." (Matthew 7:7,8)

BOMBSHELL: Accused Charlie Kirk Assassin Appears to Have Been in Steam Group Called ‘Read This If Your Gay,’ Echoing Message on Bullet Casing, Members Urged Encrypted Cover-Up of Chats RIGHT AFTER Shooting
|
|
Alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson appears to have been a member of a bizarre Steam group named “Read This If Your Gay,” a title that eerily mirrors the mocking inscription “If you read this, you are gay LMAO,” which was etched on a bullet casing at the crime scene.
Steam is a video game platform that lets you play, discuss, and create games on your computer.
The group’s profile featured cartoonish imagery, including anime-style characters, underscoring the meme-driven world in which Robinson and his associates seem to have operated.
Incredibly, members of the group were issued a frantic warning to switch to encrypted chats just hours after the fatal shooting but before Robinson’s arrest, indicating that they may have had information about the shooter.
A cryptic announcement was posted in the group on September 10 at 11:24 PM, mere hours after Kirk’s shooting, but crucially before Robinson’s arrest. (The Gateway Pundit)

- Lord God, as frightening as this report is, we nevertheless continue to cry out that EVERY HIDDEN THING BE REVEALED about this horrible event. If there be others in this matrix who were involved in this assassination, we ask that no shred of evidence will escape the notice of our law enforcement officers. But Father God, even more so is the cry of our hearts that each one of these lost souls would find their way to You, Abba, and to the truth of the Gospel and of the comfort of Your heart. Thank You, O Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen and amen.
- "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34)

1. 'There will be more rounds with Iran' - Israel Hayom
Amir Baram, director general of the Defense Ministry and a retired IDF major general, took part Monday in the "Conference of Accountant Generals" and spoke about the close connection between security and the economy.
"We are entering a decade of intense security challenges, both globally and locally. Security and the economy are inseparable, especially in Israel. Basic security is a central pillar of national security, alongside the economy, society and advanced technology," Baram said.
Addressing the global security situation, he noted: "We are seeing a dramatic rise in defense budgets worldwide. Global defense spending in 2024 reached some $2.7 trillion, a jump of about 20% compared to 2023, the largest increase since 1988." (Read more)

2. Ben Gvir to Netanyahu: 'We're not waiting for Europe; sovereignty is an urgent need' - Israel National News
Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, demands that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately apply sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, regardless of the intention of countries in the world to unilaterally recognize the Palestinian Authority.
At the Arutz Sheva and Samaria Council conference on sovereignty, Ben-Gvir addressed Netanyahu's statement in an announcement with the US Secretary of State that Israel would respond to any move to recognize the Palestinian Authority. "I have a disagreement with Netanyahu on this matter. Sovereignty should not be done because someone did something. We are a right-wing government and we were elected to advance this issue. We do not need Europe to do anything for us to apply sovereignty. Applying sovereignty should be done because it is the right thing to do, because this is our land and our home. We need to say this to the whole world."
He added, "We are doing what is best for the State of Israel. Living in the Land of Israel, as the Torah commands us, involves sovereignty. Therefore, I say to Netanyahu, sovereignty must be done even without one threat or another. This is an urgent need." (Read more)

3. Israel reportedly commences ground op portion of Gaza City takeover -Times of Israel
The IDF has launched its ground offensive to take over Gaza City, the Axios news site reports, citing unnamed Israeli officials.
The IDF has been gradually expanding airstrikes in and around the city in recent days, but had not dispatched ground troops into the densely populated northern city where roughly hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are believed to be sheltering.
The IDF says some 300,000 Palestinians have fled Gaza City in recent weeks after its population had ballooned to roughly one million displaced people earlier this year. The army has been urging everyone in Gaza City to evacuate with limited success, as many fear that other areas in the Strip are no safer. (Read more)

4. Leaders in Doha condemn Israel, urge diplomatic and economic measures
- i24 News
Arab and Muslim leaders convened an emergency summit in Doha on Monday to address heightened regional tensions following an unprecedented Israeli attack targeting Hamas officials on Qatari territory. The summit, hosted by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, brought together leaders from across the Arab and Islamic world, who voiced strong condemnation of the strike and called for a coordinated political and economic response to Israel.
The attack, which targeted a Hamas delegation engaged in peace negotiations with U.S. and Egyptian mediation, was widely perceived by Gulf states as a “serious violation of Qatar’s sovereignty” and a dangerous risk of regional escalation. In response, the summit’s final 25-point statement expressed “absolute support” for Qatar’s security, stability, and sovereignty and condemned Israel for undermining peace efforts in Gaza.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating that Israel “seeks to turn the region into an open target” and that the aggression on Qatar sets a “dangerous precedent” under international law. (Read more)

5. Qatar leading efforts to impose blockade on Israel, Netanyahu tells 'Post'
- Jerusalem Post
Qatar is spearheading an effort by a number of countries to impose a blockade on Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told The Jerusalem Post on Monday.
“There is currently an attempt to impose a blockade on Israel by various entities and countries, led by Qatar,” the prime minister said. “This includes, first and foremost, a media blockade funded by vast sums of money from Qatar and other countries, such as China.”
“In the coming years, we will need to strengthen our independent arms industries to ensure self-reliance in weaponry, munitions production, and industrial capacity. This will enable us to break through this blockade,” he added. (Read more)

1. Trump defends Patel amid scrutiny of FBI director’s leadership during Kirk assassination investigation- POLITICO
Trump’s comments come as Patel has faced criticism from former and current officials in the bureau — as well as some prominent MAGA allies online — for his handling of the closely watched investigation into Kirk’s shooter.
On Wednesday, Patel posted on social media that a “subject” was in law enforcement custody. Two hours later, he announced that the person had been “released after an interrogation by law enforcement.”
And some Republicans who initially were enthusiastic about the prospect of a Patel-led FBI have also criticized his handling of the files of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
But the White House is praising his work. “Director Patel and his team worked night and day to find this murderer and bring him to justice,” White House communications director Steven Cheung said in a Saturday statement to POLITICO.
“Anyone who doubts his resolve and dedication — especially when Charlie was such a close friend to him — simply is using this extremely sad moment in a disgusting act of political gamesmanship,” Cheung added. “The focus was on catching this killer, and he will face the full wrath of the justice system.” (Read more)

- Lord, we pray over Kash Patel and his leadership of the FBI. Give him the leadership skills he needs to make decisions and handle these investigations. We pray, too, that He is not influenced by the criticisms he receives.

2. Poland To Trump: Russian Drone Incursion Wasn’t a Mistake- Bloomberg
Poland’s prime minister rejected Donald Trump’s assertion that this week’s incursion by Russian drones may not have been intentional as European leaders struggle with the president’s apparent ambivalence.
The US leader said Wednesday’s incident, in which NATO forces shot down several Russian drones that had breached Polish airspace, “could have been a mistake.” Trump added that he was displeased with the “whole situation,” without elaborating. (Read more)

3. Trump says he's ready to put 'major sanctions' on Russia if NATO nations do the same- NBC News
President Donald Trump said Saturday he is “ready to do major Sanctions on Russia” once all NATO countries have started “to do the same thing” and pause their purchases of oil from Moscow.
He also urged NATO countries to impose “50% to 100% TARIFFS ON CHINA,” which he said should be withdrawn after the Russia-Ukraine war has concluded.
“China has a strong control, and even grip, over Russia, and these powerful Tariffs will break that grip,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post, which he said was the text of a letter sent to all NATO nations and “the world.”
Trump has repeatedly threatened to impose sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, but has so far held off from doing so.
Earlier this month, the president said he was prepared to move towards a second phase of sanctioning Russia, but has not yet imposed the levies. (Read more)

4. South Korea’s president says Georgia ICE raid could have ‘considerable impact’ on direct US investment from his country - CNN
The ICE raid on more than 300 South Korean workers in Georgia could impact future South Korean investment in the US, its president said on Thursday, adding the fallout had created a “very confusing” situation for Korean companies there.
His comments come as South Korea reels from the raids – one of the largest by US immigration enforcement agencies in recent years, and which threatens to create a rift between two close partners that have long cooperated on military and economic matters.
South Korean businesses in the US “need to build facilities, install equipment, and set up factories, which requires skilled technicians,” Lee Jae Myung said at a press conference that marked his 100th day in office.
He added that confusion over the current visa situation for South Koreans would lead local companies to question “whether they should go at all.”
“This issue could have a considerable impact on foreign direct investment in the US,” he said. “We are urging the US side to normalize the visa process related to investment, whether by securing sufficient visa quotas or by creating a new category of visa.” (Read more)

5. Police and protesters scuffle as 110,000 join anti-migrant London protest - Reuters
More than 100,000 protesters marched through central London on Saturday, carrying flags of England and Britain and scuffling with police in one of the UK's biggest right-wing demonstrations of modern times.
London's Metropolitan Police said the "Unite the Kingdom" march, organised by anti-immigrant activist Tommy Robinson, was attended by around 110,000 people, who were kept apart from a "Stand Up to Racism" counter-protest attended by around 5,000.
The police appeared to be taken by surprise by the size of the turnout, describing the rally as "too big to fit into Whitehall," a wide street lined with government buildings, on the approved route of the march.
Police trying to prevent protesters veering from the route faced "unacceptable violence," the force said, describing officers being kicked and punched and facing hurled bottles, flares and other projectiles.
The police said 26 officers were injured, including four seriously.
Arrests totalled 25, which the force said was "just the start."
"We are identifying those who were involved in the disorder and they can expect to face robust police action in the coming days and weeks," Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist said. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray protection over the police in the U. K., and here in the US who are working to contain any protests that may be happening. 6. State Department warns immigrants not to mock Kirk's death - AXIOS
The State Department on Thursday indicated it would review the legal status of immigrants "praising, rationalizing, or making light" of conservative activist Charlie Kirk's fatal shooting.
Why it matters: The Trump administration has previously targeted immigrants for review and possible removal for activities such as participating in pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses.
What they're saying: "In light of yesterday's horrific assassination of a leading political figure, I want to underscore that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country," Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said in a Thursday post on X.
- "I have been disgusted to see some on social media praising, rationalizing, or making light of the event, and have directed our consular officials to undertake appropriate action." (Read more)

- Thank You, Lord that the State Department is investigating immigrants who are praising the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Of Blessing and Obedience
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, September 15, 2025
As Moses neared the end of his instructions to Israel in Ki Tavo (Deuteronomy 26:1-29:8), he spoke of first fruits, tithes, and the covenant responsibility that tied the people directly to God. Israel was called to “observe and obey them with all your heart and all your being” (Deuteronomy 26:16). If Israel held true to God’s ways, He promised to raise them above all nations, making them a unique treasure and a holy people. But if they broke covenant, their fate would be curses. The terms were plain. Their very survival as a nation hinged on obedience. This wasn’t a vague religious call—it was their constitution, their contract, their lifeline with the Creator.
The blessings and curses outlined here are stark. Deuteronomy 28 mirrors Leviticus 26, known as the tokhaha, or “rebuke.” God warned of famine, disease, scattering, persecution, and destruction if His people forsook Him. Sadly, the curses turned prophetic. Deuteronomy 28:46 says, “These curses will be on you and your descendants forever.” Look at Jewish history, and the pattern is undeniable. From exile to persecution to pogroms, the words of Torah have been verified in the most tragic ways. But even in judgment, God’s purpose is not annihilation. It is redemption. The curses are meant to drive His people back to Him, not prove that He has abandoned them. Read More

Trump says he's sending the National Guard into Memphis to 'fix' crime like D.C.
|
|
|
President Donald Trump said Friday that he's planning to send federal law enforcement and the National Guard into Memphis, Tennessee, to lower crime in the city following his surge into Washington, D.C., over the last month.
"We’re going to Memphis. Memphis is deeply troubled," Trump said in an interview on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” in New York. "The mayor is happy. He’s a Democrat. And the governor of Tennessee, the governor is happy. We’re gonna fix that just like we did Washington."
The president then raised the issue of lowering crime in New Orleans and Chicago, the latter city's crime rate being a frequent talking point of his.
"I can fix Chicago, much bigger than D.C., but we can bring in the military," Trump said. "We can bring in the National Guard. We’ll do what we have to do."
Trump said he decided on Memphis after someone on the board of Fedex, which is headquartered in that city, brought up the crime rate there to him.
"We’re going to Memphis." Trump said. "I’m just announcing that now, and we’ll straighten that out — National Guard and anybody else we need. And by the way, we’ll bring in the military, too, if we need it."

(Update from D.C.)
Trump acknowledged in an interview Friday that he has “more power” in D.C., whose officials share authority with the federal government, and said the administration has had a positive relationship with Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser.
“We’ve had a great relationship," Trump said. "Everybody’s happy, and the mayor was not in favor of it at first … and then she saw the results, and everyone’s going up and thanking her. We have no crime anymore.”
Trump’s emergency order authorizing a federal takeover of the D.C. police force for 30 days expired this week, and would have required Congress to extend it further under a law that grants the city some autonomy.
Bowser said federal law enforcement personnel would remain in the nation’s capital, but the Metropolitan Police Department would stop transporting people detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
While the city would return to the “status quo,” she said, “federal police officers are going to be in the district … federal police officers can enhance the public safety mission of MPD.”
Bowser said last month that the increase of federal forces in the nation's capital did lead to a drop in crime.
“We greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what MPD has been able to do in this city,” she said. In the first 20 days of the federal takeover, there had been an 87% drop in carjackings compared with the same period last year. The data cited also showed a 45% decrease in violent crime and a 15% fall in crime overall in the district from the same period last year. (NBC News) Read more here.

- Father God, we now have a proven track record that law enforcement WORKS. We thank You, O Lord, for the bold leadership demonstrated by our President to bring down and to eliminate crime in Washington, D.C. and now in Memphis, Tennessee. We pray that Your hand of blessing would rest upon him in the days ahead, as President Trump continues to tackle the out-of-control crime in other cities in our land. In Your Name, Holy One, we offer this prayer, amen and amen.
- "In that day the Lord of hosts will be
For a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty
To the remnant of His people,
For a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment,
And for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate." (Isaiah 28:5,6)

The following is an in-depth article, written by Bjorn and Lilian Schmid (http://www.prayerstrategy.org) and forwarded to us by Lamp of Christ Africa. This report describes the roots of Antifa - in Europe and in America - and outlines their many activities in this hour. To read the introduction to this article, see below.
We are also publishing their prayer about Antifa with this report. Thank you.

|
What happened to Charlie Kirk and why was he killed? Was the murderer an Antifa
member?
Antifa’s tactics and goals have evolved over time:
Antifa doesn’t have a single founder or centralized origin—it’s more of a decentralized
movement rooted in anti-fascist resistance that dates back nearly a century.
Historical Roots
- The term Antifa comes from the German Antifaschistische Aktion, a militant anti-
fascist group formed by the German Communist Party in 1932 to oppose the rise of
Nazism.
- Similar anti-fascist movements emerged across Europe in the 1920s and 1930s,
especially in response to fascist regimes in Italy and Germany.
U.S. Evolution
- In the United States, Antifa evolved from groups like Anti-Racist Action (ARA), which
was active in the 1980s and 1990s and focused on confronting white supremacists and
neo-Nazis.
- The modern U.S. Antifa movement gained visibility after Donald Trump’s election in
2016, with activists opposing far-right extremism through direct action, protests, and
digital activism.

> > > Suggested prayer for Antifa members:
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your guidance in a world filled with tension and unrest. Where there is anger, bring Your peace. Where there is confusion, shine Your light.
Lord, we lift up those involved in movements that stir division or violence. We ask that You soften hearts, open minds, and lead all people toward truth, justice, and
compassion.
Help us not to respond with fear or hatred, but with love and wisdom. Give us
discernment to understand the times, courage to stand for righteousness, and grace to be peacemakers in our communities.
Protect those who are vulnerable and raise up leaders who reflect Your justice and
mercy. May Your Spirit move in every corner of society, bringing revival, reconciliation, and hope.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.

SpaceX launches Northrop Grumman's biggest-ever cargo spacecraft on its 1st mission to the ISS (video)
|
|
SpaceX launched Northrop Grumman's new "Cygnus XL" cargo ship on its debut mission to the International Space Station (ISS) on Sunday evening (Sept. 14).
A Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Cygnus freighter lifted off from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 6:11 p.m. EDT (2211 GMT).
The mission is known as NG-23, because it is the 23rd cargo effort that Northrop Grumman flies to the ISS for NASA. NG-23 is the first Cygnus launch since August 2024, when NG-21 took flight.
NG-22 was supposed to follow in January of this year but was delayed to June due to avionics issues. Then, in late March, NASA announced that NG-22 had been called off, as a result of damage the Cygnus incurred during transport to the launch site.
NG-23 marks the debut of the Cygnus XL, a larger and more capable version of the veteran freighter. The previous iteration hauled about 8,500 (3,855 kilograms) pounds of cargo to the ISS, but Cygnus XL is taking 11,000 pounds (4,990 kg) up on this trip.
Among the supplies packed aboard the freighter are "materials to produce semiconductor crystals in space and equipment to develop improvements for cryogenic fuel tanks," NASA officials wrote in a statement. "The spacecraft also will deliver a specialized UV light system to prevent the growth of microbe communities that form in water systems and supplies to produce pharmaceutical crystals that could treat cancer and other diseases."
