Steel Across America ends its cross-country 9/11 memorial at NY Giants game

The tour carried a 21-foot steel beam from the World Trade Center's South Tower to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11
|

|
The Tunnel to Towers Steel Across America tour concluded its more than 38 stops with a final appearance at MetLife Stadium for a New York Giants game this week.
The tour featured a 21-foot steel beam from the South Tower of the World Trade Center. Starting in May, the tour traveled from the East Coast across the U.S. and then went to the New York City area to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 before Sunday's last stop.
The 16,900-pound piece of steel – recovered from Ground Zero in the days after the attacks by first responders who rushed to the site – has since become a symbol of the nearly 3,000 civilians, firefighters, police officers, emergency workers and military personnel who died that day.
"For the past four months, communities across the country have welcomed this sacred piece of American history with incredible emotion," Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO Frank Siller said in a press release. "Watching people stand in front of that steel, hugging it, praying over it, weeping, reminds me every single day of why we do this work."
An August ceremony in Indianapolis included a color guard, a pipes and drums procession, the national anthem performed by the Voices of the Indianapolis Fire Department and an invocation from Indianapolis Fire Department Chaplain Mike Gatliff.
Indianapolis Fire Division Chief Tom Neal and Timothy Winslow, a retired major general and executive director of the Indiana War Memorial and Museum, also addressed the crowd about the connection between the city’s first responders, veterans and the legacy of 9/11. (Fox News) Read more here

May this symbolic structure which traveled across the country, somehow bring reconciliation and healing to our nation for the families who lost loved ones on that tragic day. We will never forget. Trump Announces US Will Have Permanent Control Over Greenland’s Security
|
|
U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday announced that the United States entered into a security agreement with Denmark and Greenland to control security for the world’s largest island.
The agreement would give the United States “permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland,” he wrote on Truth Social, a move the president described as one that would address the United States’ concerns.
“At my direction, we worked with representatives of Denmark and Greenland to guarantee that the United States will FOREVER have the complete ability to do what is necessary in Greenland in order to secure and defend the security of Greenland, and the United States of America,” the president’s post read.
“Additionally, from now on, no U.S. adversary can EVER have a base in Greenland, have a military presence in Greenland, or make sensitive investments in Greenland, without our express written approval.”
The deal blocks China, Russia, and other non-NATO nations from setting up military bases or placing troops in Greenland, said Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday in an interview with Fox News.
Describing Greenland as “forever” a “part of the strategic defense area of North America,” Rubio said that the deal will now “exclude any adversary” from placing its forces near the island or in its surrounding areas. “This deal permanently and completely addresses our national security concerns in Greenland.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here,

Washington tells UN to pick chief to return to its ‘primary purpose,’ not more ‘absurd, politicized, woke ideology’
|
|
A U.S. State Department spokesman urged the United Nations to go in a different direction when it selects its new secretary-general, as the U.N. Security Council readies on Friday for its third straw poll for the new chief, who will replace António Guterres.
The new global body leader must help the organization get “back to basics and publicly commit to the changes we require,” the Foggy Bottom spokesman said on Thursday in the department’s first public comments on the high-profile job search.
The next secretary-general ought to return the United Nations to “its primary purpose of maintaining peace and security in the world, rather than the absurd, politicized, woke ideology that has undermined the institution’s effectiveness,” the State Department said.
There is yet to be a clear frontrunner in the race, in which eight candidates remain to succeed Guterres at year’s end. On Friday, the 15 Security Council member states will vote “encourage,” “discourage” or “no opinion” on each candidate in a secret ballot.

Lord, the UN has spent decades attacking Israel and causing division instead of working to “maintain peace and security in the world.” They have chosen obvious evil over obvious good in everything from the Human Rights Council to other UN agencies. We pray, Lord, that You will intervene to root out these foolish policies and bring a move of Holy Spirit repentance to this body.

House Dems introduce resolution to disapprove Saudi nuclear deal
|
|
Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.), the ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and three of his Democratic colleagues announced a resolution of disapproval for the Trump administration’s nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
Meeks and Reps. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.), John Garamendi (D-Calif.) and Don Beyer (D-Va.) stated that the U.S.-Saudi nuclear cooperation agreement “dangerously departs from decades of nonproliferation standards and presents considerable risks.”
“A region already gripped by conflict and escalation does not need another nuclear power,” the Democrats said. “Handing Saudi Arabia enrichment capacity under these conditions—even with the stipulations included in the agreement the administration has shared with Congress—isn’t just reckless nonproliferation policy, it’s an invitation to a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.”
The Trump administration signed a nuclear cooperation agreement, known as a 123 agreement, with Saudi Arabia in July and submitted it for congressional approval in August.
The terms of the deal include neither commitments from Saudi Arabia that it forgo uranium enrichment and reprocessing nor the “additional protocol” for International Atomic Energy Agency inspections. Those elements have been standard features of previous 123 agreements between the United States and other countries seeking to build nuclear energy plants, including the nuclear deal between the United States and Saudi Arabia’s neighbor, the United Arab Emirates. Early voting begins in US midterm elections that could flip control of Congress
|
|
In-person voting for this year’s midterm elections begins Friday, ushering in the final six weeks for Americans to decide who they trust to lead Congress through a cost-of-living crisis, a prolonged war in Iran and other pressing issues.
Election administrators say they’re prepared and confident the vote will be accurate and secure. Nevertheless, President Donald Trump has continued with efforts to denigrate certain voting methods and reshape how U.S. elections are run, through court challenges, an expansive federal hunt for noncitizen voters and a pressure campaign to force election officials to share sensitive voter data.
Friday is the start of early voting in Virginia. Voters in a handful of other states, including Idaho, Minnesota and South Dakota, are able to cast absentee ballots in person, typically at a local election office or voting center. More expansive early voting is scheduled to begin in those and other ts;states in the coming weeks.
The Nov. 3 election includes votes for governor and state legislature in most states and will determine whether the House and Senate maintain their Republican majorities. If Democrats retake Congress, it will alter the trajectory of the final two years of Trump’s term, most likely leading to investigations and other oversight efforts.
The start of early voting comes at a time of deep angst among many Americans about issues including rising gas and grocery prices, the war in Iran, the looming risks of artificial intelligence and Trump’s aggressive immigration enforcement campaign. (Breitbart) Read more here.

President Donald Trump on Sept. 18 said he has banned three news outlets from the White House.
Trump said on Truth Social that he was, effective immediately, banning CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House “as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS!”
The president added: “Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America. Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow.”
MS Now and Politico did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
CNN could not be reached.

Lord Jesus, we understand the extreme bias of many media outlets that have published articles deliberately painting President Trump as bad. This ban may not survive a court challenge, since the “freedom of the press” is in the First Amendment. We do ask that You move on all media outlets for repentance for their lack of respect for President Trump and anyone in the administration.

1. Israel shuts down for Yom Kippur, after deadly West Bank terror shooting and with IDF on high alert - Times of Israel
Israel shut down Sunday afternoon for Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, which begins at sundown and ends Monday night.
Times of Israel’s news coverage will resume when the Yom Kippur fast ends in Israel.
The Day of Atonement came amid violence across the region.
In the West Bank, just hours before the start of Yom Kippur, a man in his 30s was killed in a terror attack when a gunman opened fire on Israelis who had gathered for the traditional practice of immersing in a natural spring ahead of the holiday. The IDF later captured the alleged terrorist responsible. (Read more)

2. 1 murdered in Samaria shooting attack - Israel Hayom
A man in his 30s was murdered in a shooting attack at the Ein Riya spring in Samaria, also known as Ein Tzuf, which sits just outside the community fence.
The military quickly confirmed the incident. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit said, "IDF forces have launched a pursuit of the terrorist following a report received of a shooting attack in the Neveh Tzuf area in the Binyamin Brigade. Numerous IDF forces have launched a pursuit of the terrorist, and are establishing roadblocks in the area."
Initial dispatches from the scene indicate the gunfire originated from a passing vehicle and targeted civilians spending time near the spring. The exact circumstances of the attack remain under active investigation. (Read more)

3. After Binyamin shooting: Two terrorists attempt to run over soldiers in Samaria

An attempted ramming attack took place Sunday near the Ganim military post in northern Samaria.
Two terrorists traveling in a vehicle attempted to carry out the attack. Soldiers from the 890th Battalion who were stationed at the location opened fire at the vehicle, killing one terrorist and arresting the second.
The IDF said that following the attempted attack, IDF and Border Police forces are currently operating at the scene. (Read more)

4. IAF slays Oct. 7 terrorist who was working to rehabilitate Hamas
- World Israel News
The Israeli Air Force on Thursday killed Muhammad Suleiman Byouk, a commander in Hamas’s “military” wing, in a strike in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza, the military said on Saturday night.
The terrorist infiltrated Israeli territory during the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, and throughout the ensuing war he planted explosive devices across the Strip to harm IDF troops, according to the statement.
He also advanced terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians while working to rehabilitate Hamas in systematic violation of the ceasefire. (Read more)

5. IDF conducts large-scale Eilat exercise simulating Oct. 7-style infiltration - JNS
The Israel Defense Forces’ 80th “Edom” Division last week conducted a large-scale exercise in Eilat and nearby communities, simulating a surprise attack involving terrorist infiltration by air, sea and land, complex assaults and mass-casualty incidents in civilian areas.
The exercise incorporated lessons learned from the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, and involved IDF troops alongside the Israel Police, Magen David Adom medical service, Israel Fire and Rescue Services and other emergency organizations.
“This exercise is designed to apply the lessons of Oct. 7 and help us improve our preparedness to ensure that such scenarios do not occur in other parts of the country,” Lt. Col. Aleph, deputy commander of the division’s Yoav Brigade and commander of the exercise, told JNS. (Read more)

1. Taxpayer funds meant for LA homeless allegedly spent on Tahiti trip, nightclub, luxury cars: feds- Fox News
Taxpayer dollars intended to put roofs over the heads of Los Angeles’ homeless allegedly paid instead for a Tahiti vacation, a high-end nightclub, luxury vehicles and other personal expenses, federal authorities said Wednesday as agents fanned out across the city in an early-morning fraud crackdown.
At the center of the crackdown is Michael Young, 46, a founder of Culver City-based nonprofit Home At Last, who received more than $118 million in public funds through government contracts, including more than $75 million from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, according to the Justice Department.

2. War crimes court turns 'blind eye' to top world threats while targeting Americans, Trump admin accuses - Fox News
The Trump administration is escalating its campaign against the International Criminal Court (ICC), accusing the Hague-based tribunal of ignoring atrocities committed by authoritarian regimes while unlawfully targeting the U.S. and its service members.
State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott told Fox News Digital that the ICC has "violated international law by targeting the United States and American servicemen" while it has "repeatedly turned a blind eye to the abuses of despotic regimes that fund terrorism, brutally suppress and torture their citizens, and carry out crimes against humanity."
The remarks are the latest step in the administration's broader effort to weaken the court, which U.S. officials argue has exceeded its authority by investigating Americans despite the U.S. never joining the Rome Statute that established the ICC. 3. With Social Security Set to Become Insolvent, Urgency Grows for Congress to Act- The Washington Stand
Without seeming to make barely a ripple, a startling report was released in June revealing that America’s Social Security program will become insolvent in six years unless substantial reforms are made. Now, lawmakers are beginning to sound the alarm on the rapidly spiraling crisis and are pushing legislation to overhaul the system originally designed to keep elderly Americans out of poverty.
The report, released by the trustees who oversee Social Security, found that the program will become insolvent by 2032 if current spending levels are maintained. At that point, the 70 million American beneficiaries would see their benefits cut by 22% in order for the program to continue operating. The forecast moved the insolvency date up a year from a previous estimate of 2033, citing increased federal spending and a plunging birth rate as primary reasons.
The Social Security program began in 1935 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act into law, with the first payments being issued two years later. The program was conceived as a way to ensure that senior citizens would not become destitute once they reached an age when they could no longer physically work. The program has arguably been highly successful at achieving this goal, with 53% of retirees saying Social Security is their primary source of income and 14% saying the benefits amount to at least 90% of their income. Overall, it is estimated that the program lifts over 22 million Americans over the poverty line every year. (Read more)

Though it should never have come to pass that people became dependent on the government so long ago, it is a fact that most seniors are now reliant on the government for the help. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we pray that Your wisdom and plans will prevail.

4. ‘COVID 2.0’: Lawmakers push back on sweeping health 'police power' in key battleground state- Fox News
Pennsylvania lawmakers are warning that proposed changes to the state’s public health rules could usher in "COVID 2.0," giving health officials sweeping "police power" over residents during future disease outbreaks.
Lawmakers opposing Pennsylvania's planned 502-page rewrite of state health code rules are urging the public to submit comments before the deadline, warning the proposal could serve as a roadmap to unfettered and intrusive restrictions and surveillance efforts, including the reported ability for agency representatives to enter private homes.
"This absolutely is COVID 2.0, but it's even worse because [Governor] Josh Shapiro is trying to circumnavigate or skirt the constitutional provision that we the people in Pennsylvania voted to take that kind of power away from the governor," said State Rep. 5. Exclusive: Undercover Video Shows James Talarico’s Pastor Supporting Atheists, if You ‘Hate Religion We’re on the Same Team’- Breitbart
Undercover video obtained by Breitbart News shows Texas Democrat U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico’s pastor and mentor, Rev. Jim Rigby, saying he welcomes atheists to join his church and “if you love humanity and love nature and that’s why you hate religion then we’re on the same team.”
Talarico has attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Austin since he was toddler and Rigby has led the congregation since the 1980s, according to a New York Times profile. “He is my pastor in every sense of the word,” Talarico said of Rigby and added he, along with his grandfather, are “the biggest influences on me as a Christian, as a human being.”
Rigby also baptized Talarico and officiated the wedding of Talarico’s parents.
The video obtained by Breitbart News shows Rigby as he prepares to speak at an event for the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF). The organization says, “Western civilization shows us that most social and moral progress has been brought about by persons free from religion.” (Read more)

From Aslan to Translan… Meryl Streep will voice the male lion and Christ figure in the upcoming Narnia movie.
If you want to know just how much Hollywood hates us and just how much this hate overrides any desire to realize a profit, I give you Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s Christian story, Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew.
Anyone vaguely familiar with Narnia franchise understands that the central character in all seven Narnia novels is Aslan the lion. Aslan is Narnia’s godhead character, the creator of the physical world of Narnia, its animals, its plants, and the moral order.
For those who might not have caught on to this, the true creator of Narnia, Lewis, made it clear that Aslan represents Christ.
In 1961, he wrote:
The whole Narnian story is about Christ. That is to say, I asked myself ‘Supposing there really were a world like Narnia, and supposing it had (like our world) gone wrong, and supposing Christ wanted to go into that world and save it (as He did ours) what might have happened?’ The stories are my answer. Since Narnia is a world of Talking Beasts, I thought He would become a Talking Beast there, as He became a Man here. I pictured Him becoming a lion there because (a) the lion is supposed to be the King of beasts; (b) Christ is called ‘The Lion of Judah’ in the Bible; (c) I’d been having strange dreams about lions when I began writing the books. 1,000-year-old church mystery cracked by students from King Charles' alma mater
|
|
|
Boarding school students in Scotland helped uncover something extraordinary during a school trip: the remains of what's believed to be a 1,000-year-old Viking-era church.
Young people from Gordonstoun, located in Moray, Scotland, uncovered the foundations of an altar and a step inside the long-known ruins on the deserted island of Swona in Orkney.
Gordonstoun — the alma mater of King Charles III and his late father, Prince Philip — runs an annual service project on the remote island called the Swona Service Project, where students take part in archaeological and restoration work.
Gordonstoun housemaster Daniel McLean, who is also the organizer of the project, told Fox News Digital the structure had long been known locally as a "kirk," or church, but its origins remained uncertain.
While the ruins themselves were already known, it was unclear whether the structure had actually been a church.
The excavation uncovered altar foundations and a step, lending new weight to a local legend that the ruins were once a church.
The team had surveyed the site the previous year, McLean said, and found several characteristics consistent with early medieval church architecture. (Fox News) Read More
