Christian Mom Defeats Oregon Bid to Stop Her From Adopting
|
|
|
A Christian mom in Oregon has won her battle against a liberal state to adopt children. Oregon child-welfare officials have agreed to let a Christian widow seek a license to adopt children from foster care without violating her religious beliefs, ending a three-year fight over a state rule that barred her because she would not promote gender ideology on the kids.
Jessica Bates, a widowed mother of five, sued the Oregon Department of Human Services in April 2023 after the agency rejected her application. Officials deemed her ineligible to adopt any child — even infants or children who share her religious beliefs — because she said she would not use inaccurate pronouns, take children to pride parades, or take a hypothetical 9-year-old to receive puberty blockers or hormone shots.
Under an agreed court order announced Monday, Bates may reapply for her license and need not promote gender ideology to a vulnerable child. Oregon also agreed that Bates, as the prevailing party, is entitled to attorneys’ fees and costs, to be decided later. “As a widowed mom of five, I was surprised to feel God nudging me to adopt. I never dreamt it would lead to a years-long lawsuit when Oregon excluded me just because of my religious convictions about gender,” Bates said. “I am grateful for ADF picking up my case, advocating for my and every American’s rights, and helping ensure many great homes can remain candidates to help the children in foster care.” (Life News) Read More Here

Father, we are grateful for VICTORY in court, allowing our sister in Christ to finally adopt children from foster care. We ask Your blessing upon this Christian mother in her desire to help children in need. May she see Your provision as she moves forward in obedience to You. We ask Your double-portion of favor to fall upon 'Alliance Defending Freedom', as they continue to boldly advocate for Christian rights. In the Name of Jesus, we declare that every child placed within a believer's household, in Oregon and across our nation, will come to know the Lord intimately and receive salvation in Christ! In the Blood of the Lamb, we lift this prayer.- Amen.

DHS chief fires back at Jayapal over claim majority of immigration arrests pose 'no threat'
|
|
|
ICE arrested nearly 51,000 illegal immigrants nationwide in August
|
|
|
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin pushed back on Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s, D-Wash., claim that the "majority of people" arrested by DHS pose "absolutely no threat to public safety."
Mullin rejected Jayapal’s characterization on "Saturday in America," saying DHS and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) remain committed to targeting high-risk individuals to keep American communities safe and arguing that crimes committed by illegal immigrants have led to tragedy.
"If we're going to have national security in this country, we [need to] know everybody that's entered this country. And so, I'm not going to release you back into the public once we know that you entered this country illegally," Mullin said. "It's time for you to go home."
"All the angel families that lost their loved ones at the hands of an illegal is 100% preventable, because that illegal shouldn't be in our country to begin with," the DHS boss added.
Jayapal, the ranking member of the House Subcommittee on Immigration, Integrity, Security, and Enforcement and a vocal ICE critic, argued that immigration enforcement under the Trump administration has targeted immigrants without criminal convictions.
"For the first time this summer, the majority of people that DHS arrested were people who pose absolutely no threat to public safety, and the number of people with criminal convictions who are arrested by ICE actually decreased — decreased, not increased," Jayapal said during a hearing last week.
"That’s because when DHS expends all of its energy to go after parents, longtime friends, neighbors, when [Homeland Security Investigations] agents who are supposed to investigate serious crime and human trafficking are instead being moved to street sweeps and riding along with local police for random traffic stops, we are less safe, not more safe," she added.(Fox News) Read more here.

Lord, we know that there is evidence of a number of dangerous illegal aliens that are on U.S. soil and so we we thank you, Lord, that this administration is taking this issue very seriously. We continue to pray that all of our leaders, local and federal would implement justice into this situation and that the laws of our land would be enforced, in Jesus' name.

Meloni to Ban Burqas in Schools,
Limit Number of Migrants in Classrooms
|
|
|
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said her government will introduce legislation to limit the number of foreign students in classrooms and ban full-face coverings in schools.
Appearing on Sunday at the Fenix, the annual national youth festival organised by Gioventù Nazionale, the youth wing of her Brothers of Italy (FdI) party, told her student supporters that Italian children should not become a minority in their own classrooms.
“It’s unthinkable that in an Italian classroom, Italian children feel cornered because they’ve become the minority. It can’t be done,” she said, according to Corriere della Sera.
The Italian premier said her Council of Ministers would therefore “soon introduce a law on the maximum number of foreign students in classes.”
Meloni said that this would be paired with a “requirement” for parents of foreign students struggling to integrate to learn Italian. The legislation would additionally impose a ban on burqas and niqabs in schools, she declared, saying that it is a “question of civilisation”.
“We go to school with our faces uncovered, and in Italy, no one, in the name of a real or presumed tradition, can decide that a young woman must hide. Gender equality is non-negotiable,” she added. (Breitbart) Read more.

Father God, we do thank You for the courage demonstrated by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, so that her nation is protected from the encroachment of Islam. Italy must remain Italy, a nation which has always been true to our faith. We pray that the other leaders of the nations of Europe would also see "the writing on the wall," following her own lead to stand against the onslaught of Islam in their lands. We come against all backlash that would try to endanger the life of Giorgia Meloni, and we pray for her protection, now and always, in Jesus' mighty name.
Lord God, we also ask that our own leaders in the United States would "wake up" to see the danger at our own door and take similar measures to protect the United States of America from the encroachment of Islam in our cities and in our schools. Amen.
“And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

Why Trump zeroed in on Greenland, the world’s largest island, mostly covered in ice — in 3 charts
|
|
|
The agreement with Denmark would expand the American military presence while barring China and Russia from the territory
|
|
|
President Donald Trump’s Greenland push has moved from threats to a new security agreement with Denmark and Greenland that he says will give the United States "permanent control" over the island’s security and allow Washington to expand its military presence there.
The agreement still requires approval from Danish and Greenlandic lawmakers. Its full terms have not been made public, but officials say it would leave Greenland under Danish sovereignty while barring China, Russia and other non-NATO adversaries from establishing military bases or making certain sensitive investments on the island.
Greenland rarely draws global attention. But as Arctic ice melts and great powers compete for influence, the world’s largest island has become a strategic prize. A semi-autonomous territory of Denmark, Greenland is home to a key U.S. military base and sits near emerging shipping routes and critical mineral deposits.
Greenland’s roughly 56,000 residents are spread across five municipalities, with most living in small coastal towns. About 80% of the island is covered by an ice sheet, leaving much of its vast interior uninhabited. Despite its small population, Greenland is nearly the size of Alaska and Texas combined.
Its location off Canada’s northeastern coast places Greenland at the heart of Arctic defense planning. The U.S. has maintained a military outpost in northwestern Greenland since 1953 at Pituffik Space Base, now operated by the U.S. Space Force. Russia also maintains military installations in the region, while China has sought greater access since declaring itself a "near-Arctic state" in 2018. (Fox News) Read more here.

The Israeli government’s official public mapping site, govmap, recently uncensored previously blurred sections of the Gaza Strip, revealing the locations of military positions in high definition.
The change was first noted on Monday by “Stinky,” a social media account dedicated to open-source intelligence (OSINT), especially geo-locating incidents in the Gaza Strip.
Previously, govmap.gov.il would censor and blur all portions of the Gaza Strip in its aerial imagery, right up until the Israeli security fence. Military bases and other sensitive sites inside Israel and the West Bank are also blurred. (Read more)

1. Hundreds of thousands of Iranians rally in government-organized demonstration - Times of Israel
Hundreds of thousands of Iranians gathered for a government-organized rally on Friday, pledging their readiness to take up arms in the biggest such demonstration since the United States and Israel launched the war with the Islamic Republic in February.
Iran’s government has sought to rally the people and stress national unity, even as the economy worsens under a US naval blockade of Iranian ports and new US sanctions meant to increase Tehran’s economic pain.
Estimates varied of the number of people volunteering to receive limited military training and defend the country in an effort described as “Janfaday-e Iran,” or the “ones who sacrifice their lives for Iran.” They marched through downtown Tehran in combat uniform, carrying flags, as onlookers cheered.
Tehran’s IRGC chief, Gen. Hassan Hassanzadeh, told the state broadcaster that over 600,000 people had registered to participate, with over 1 million expected to take part in the training. On Friday morning, the broadcaster estimated over 300,000 people were on the streets. (Read more)

2. Secret Navy SEAL operation in Strait of Hormuz revealed - Israel Hayom
The US Navy has conducted a covert operation in the Strait of Hormuz in recent months, led by elite Navy SEALs, to clear the strategic waterway of mines, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the operation.
The mission lasted four months and was conducted mostly under cover of darkness. Alongside the divers, unmanned vessels and specialized underwater systems were deployed in the hazardous strait. The inherently complex and dangerous work of neutralizing the mines was carried out underwater and in darkness, with the aim of removing one of the main factors that has deterred ships from crossing the Strait of Hormuz since February.
Iran claimed throughout the war that it had mined the strait, while the International Maritime Organization said in June that about 80 mines had been placed in the main shipping lanes. Late last month, US President Donald Trump said all mines in the strait's international waters had already been removed or destroyed, a claim also made by the US military.
The US Navy's three minesweepers based in the Gulf were reportedly outside the area, in the Indian and Pacific oceans, at least since early June. Even in peacetime, clearing naval mines can take months. Such operations are normally carried out by specialized vessels repeatedly sweeping shipping lanes, bringing mines to the surface and destroying them.
According to the report, the US operation involved Navy SEAL divers working in small teams from rubber boats and locating Iranian mines with robotic boats and underwater vehicles towing sonar arrays. The sonar scans the seabed at high resolution, identifies objects lying on it and allows large areas to be covered without putting crews at risk. (Read more)

3. Sept. 18: TV report says election booths will publish voter turnout every four hours to combat misinformation - Times of Israel
As part of efforts to combat election interference and misinformation, each voting booth across the country will publish voter turnout percentages every four hours, Channel 12 reports.
The change reportedly aims to combat any attempts to spook the public by claiming that a certain community in the population is rushing to the polls.
After the 2015 election, a notable pollster said Netanyahu’s appeal to his supporters to go out and vote to offset the “droves of Arabs” flowing to the polling stations may have played a decisive role in his victory. (Read more)

4. Board of Peace to brief countries during UN General Assembly on Gaza rebuild efforts - Times of Israel
The Board of Peace will hold a briefing for representatives from dozens of countries on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly next week to update them on efforts to implement US President Donald Trump’s plan for rebuilding the Gaza Strip.
“The briefing will bring together members of the Board, partners, mediators and key stakeholders to take stock of progress to date and discuss the priorities for the period ahead,” reads the invitation sent to countries’ UN missions, which The Times of Israel obtained on Thursday.
“The session will include an update on the (Hamas disarmament) roadmap and ongoing negotiations, near-term priorities and projects, and the broader outlook for the next phase of our collective efforts,” the invitation for the September 23 gathering continues.
“Your participation and leadership would be greatly valued as we advance our shared commitment to transparent, accountable and effective governance for Gaza, with the ultimate objective of achieving peace and prospects for the people of Gaza, security and stability for the people of Israel and integration and partnerships across the region,” the invite concludes. 5. Data centers, drawing concerns over water and power, may have another surprise impact: Forever chemicals -The Hill
As AI data centers face intense public pushback over issues including their electricity and water use, another potential environmental impact is percolating: the proliferation of forever chemicals.
Data centers can use these chemicals in at least two ways: in their cooling processes and through their more general use of semiconductors.
Supporters say that their use in cooling can reduce data centers’ significant water use, helping alleviate a major problem associated with the rapid build-out of AI infrastructure.
But critics warn that using even more forever chemicals threatens to exacerbate a massive environmental threat.
Forever chemicals are the nickname of a family of chemicals also known as PFAS that can linger in the environment for hundreds or even thousands of years because of their strong carbon-fluorine bonds, which make them difficult to break down. They have become widespread in both nature and humans because of pollution.
Exposure to certain PFAS has been linked to health issues including cancer, fertility issues, kidney and liver issues and immune system problems. (Read more)

6. Fiji declares an HIV emergency and expands testing as cases surge - NBC News
WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Fiji has declared an HIV national emergency after data showed one in 60 people in the South Pacific island nation was estimated to be infected.
The government says it is increasing testing and treatment efforts to fight a surge in new infections, which have increased 12-fold over the last 15 years, according to the Joint United Nations Program on HIV and AIDS ( UNAIDS). However, agencies now had to work together on the crisis, officials said this week.
The latest figures showed about 9,000 people were living with HIV in 2025 in a country that has fewer than a million people, according to the U.N. agency. It said only 39% of patients knew their HIV status and just 22% were receiving antiretroviral treatment.
Fiji officials said one in every 60 adults in the country has HIV, compared with one in 167 five years ago. Among pregnant women, one in every 50 has HIV.
“This means HIV is now a national crisis and the government is treating it like one. No more business as usual,” Health Minister Antonio Lalabalavu said in a video statement on Facebook. “More people in Fiji are living with HIV than ever before.” (Read more)

Give Ear: God’s Road Map Through History
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, September 21, 2026
Ha’azinu, meaning “Give ear,” is an expression that means, “Listen to this.” It is the first word of the Song of Moses: “Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak” (Deuteronomy 32:1). This prophetic song warns Israel about its coming apostasy and God’s righteous judgment, but it also reaches far into the future toward Messianic redemption. Moses taught this song to the Children of Israel, charging them to take his words to heart and obey the LORD. This was no trivial matter. Moses declared, “For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life” (Deuteronomy 32:47). Revelation 15:3 tells us those overcoming the beast will sing the Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb.
Moses continues, “Let my teaching drop as the rain” (Deuteronomy 32:2). The rabbis compare Torah to rain falling from heaven to earth. Just as rain brings growth and new life from the ground, the Word of God brings life to those who receive it. ADONAI nurtured Israel like an eagle stirring its nest, carrying and protecting its young. Yet Israel grew fat and kicked, forsaking the God who made them and following worthless gods. The LORD warns that rebellion brings famine, plague, exile and the sword. Yet He will not abandon His people forever. God separated the nations. Israel rebelled. God responded with judgment. Then God promised to judge Israel’s enemies, expose false beliefs and ultimately make atonement for His people and His land. Read More

Franklin Graham's daughter Cissie tapped as religious freedom ambassador
|
|
|
President Donald Trump has nominated Cissie Graham Lynch, daughter of evangelist Franklin Graham and granddaughter of the late Billy Graham, to serve as U.S. ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom, a State Department post focused on promoting religious liberty around the world.
Lynch announced the nomination on social media Tuesday.
"President Donald J. Trump has asked me to serve as the U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom. I would consider it a great honor and privilege to do so," Lynch said on X.
"If confirmed by the Senate, please pray that I would serve with excellence and make the most of every opportunity to protect our most precious and fundamental right – and one that far too many people around the world still live without - freedom of religion," she added.
Lynch, whose legal name is Jane Lynch, has worked with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse since 2010 and currently serves as a senior adviser and ministry spokesperson. She also hosts the "Fearless with Cissie Graham Lynch" podcast.
She served on the Executive Evangelical Advisory Board of Trump's Faith Advisory Council during his first term and delivered a prime-time address at the 2020 Republican National Convention. In May, Lynch spoke at a national prayer gathering on the National Mall in Washington marking the 250th year of U.S. independence. (MSN.com) Read more

Federal Judge Strikes Down Trump’s Order to Stop Funding DEI Initiatives in Education
|
|
|
A federal judge struck down a policy implemented by the Trump administration that required the Department of Education to end millions of dollars in grants for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Boston District Judge Angel Kelley on Thursday ruled in favor of eight Democrat-led states that had continued to challenge the Education Department policy after the Supreme Court in April 2025 allowed the administration to proceed with terminating the teacher training grants.
The judge said the policy failed to provide discernible criteria for what programs would be considered as DEI initiatives and likely to lose funding. The department also failed to consider the impact of canceling the grants on those who relied upon the funding, she said.
“The Directive does not acknowledge the fact that thousands of teachers, as well as teachers in teacher-training pipelines, would be affected, upending the careers of much-needed educators,” Kelley wrote. (The Epoch Times) Read more

Largest Viking Age silver hoard ever found in one country occurs during homeowner's patio renovation
|
|
|
A homeowner preparing the yard for a new patio recently made an incredible find — and it's been declared the largest known Viking Age silver hoard ever discovered in Denmark.
Officials from North Jutland Museums in northern Denmark announced the discovery on Aug. 31.
The hoard was discovered by a private citizen who was preparing the ground for a new tiled terrace, according to a statement from the museum.
The homeowner, who wished to remain anonymous, called the discovery "the biggest surprise of my life" after stumbling upon the hoard while doing yardwork.
"It should have been just a few hours of hard gardening to remove stubborn grass, stones and gravel in relation to a new tiled terrace," the person said.
About half an hour into the work, the homeowner struck "something that made a strange sound."
The person added, "At first I thought it was old iron or fence wire as well as some potsherds, but when I started digging with my hands, I could suddenly fish one metal object after another out of the ground." (Fox News) Read More
