Son of Israel’s US envoy, a soldier, seriously hurt in car-ramming attack in West Bank; assailant shot dead
An Israel Defense Forces reservist soldier, the son of Israel’s Ambassador to the US Yehiel Leiter, was seriously injured in a car-ramming attack at a checkpoint in the central West Bank on Wednesday.
The assailant accelerated toward a police cruiser stationed at the “Bell” checkpoint — where Routes 4436 and 4437 from Beit Ur and Ramallah hit the major Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway Route 443 — running over Neria Leiter, who was operating alongside a cop, the military and police said.
The IDF said troops operating at the scene shot dead the assailant who carried out the ramming. He was identified by Israeli security officials as Mahmoud Mohammad Sliman, 29, from the nearby village of Beit Ur al-Tahta.
Leiter was brought to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, where he underwent emergency brain surgery though his life was “still in danger,” according to a statement from Dr. Alon Schwartz, the head of the hospital’s trauma unit.
In a post on X, Ambassador Leiter thanked the medical team at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, “who are now fighting for the life” of his son.
“I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe that when the people of Israel unite, miracles happen. Neria needs a miracle,” he said. (Times of Israel) Read more here.

Usha Vance’s Summer Challenge Helped 30,000 Children Pick Up Real Books

WASHINGTON — When Usha Vance considered what issues she wanted to tackle as second lady of the United States, her own children were just learning how to read. As she was teaching them to read and love books, she noticed plummeting literacy rates across the country.
“I was really concerned by what I was seeing about the decline in literacy scores, the decline in reading for pleasure,” she shared in an interview with The Daily Wire from her office in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. She was also noticing “the loss of attention and the attraction that screen-based inputs have to everyone, children and adults.
"I thought that that was a really good place to put some effort, because there’s so much you can do to counteract that,” the second lady shared. “And I’m in a position where I don’t have a massive budget to deploy. I don’t have an agency that I run. What I have is the ability to bring together different people who are interested in the topic and get them to actually take action … So it was worth taking on.”
The second year of Usha Vance’s Summer Reading Challenge brought in over 30,000 students, averaging around the age of eight, between second and third grade. That’s double the number that her pilot program in the summer of 2025 received. “Last summer it was a pilot program,” she explained. “We came up with the idea just a few weeks before rolling it out.”
The program was focused on a specific problem: the backsliding that children experience in the summer when they are not in school. Studies show that during the summer months, children can lose up to three months of learning, a problem particularly exacerbated during the coronavirus pandemic.
“They end the school year at a certain literacy level, you know, with a certain engagement with text, and then they forget it over the summer, and then they have to restart in the following year,” she shared. “And we wanted to think of a really simple way that people could tackle that at home with minimal resources and minimal sort of stress.” With a successful pilot program behind her, Usha Vance focused on enhancing the number of participants and making the challenge a rewarding process so that the children would be excited to do it — and maybe jumpstart a love of reading in the years to come. Dearborn Sued for Allegedly Favoring Islam Over Christianity and Judaism

The city of Dearborn, Michigan, is facing a federal civil rights lawsuit alleging that officials used taxpayer resources to recognize the Islamic holy month of Ramadan while refusing requests to provide comparable recognition for Christian and Jewish holidays
The American Freedom Law Center (AFLC) filed the lawsuit on behalf of Dearborn resident and journalist Margot Cleveland against the city and Mayor Abdullah Hammoud. The complaint alleges violations of the First and Fourteenth Amendments, including the Establishment Clause, Free Speech Clause, and Equal Protection Clause.
According to the lawsuit, Dearborn spent public money on Ramadan-themed banners and a large illuminated crescent moon display on public property. Cleveland reportedly began raising concerns in April 2025, asking city officials whether Easter and Passover would receive similar recognition. Her request went unanswered, according to AFLC.
The dispute continued into 2026, when Dearborn installed new crescent moon and star displays on municipal streetlights for Ramadan. Cleveland and her attorneys also sought recognition for holidays including Christmas, Easter, Rosh Hashanah, and Yom Kippur. AFLC says neither Hammoud nor the city attorney responded to that request.
“The City of Dearborn spent taxpayer money to light up its streets and parks for Ramadan while stonewalling a resident who simply asked that Easter, Passover, and other Christian and Jewish holy days be treated the same way,” AFLC senior counsel Robert Muise said. Select China Committee Begs Trump to Pressure Xi Jinping to Release Religious Worshippers

A key congressional panel met Tuesday to urge President Donald Trump to discuss the release of imprisoned Christian worshippers, some of whom are American citizens, from China during his upcoming meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
The hearing from the Congressional-Executive Commission on China comes after the last time the two world leaders met, and China released Pastor Ezra Jin, who was imprisoned by the Chinese government for 200 days after he was charged with fraud and running a non-state-sponsored entity, which he described as a church, Jin told the Daily Signal before the hearing.
“Today’s hearing is a heartfelt appeal to Xi Jinping: Let these wonderful people go,” said Committee Chairman Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., who also introduced a resolution in 2025 urging the release of an American imprisoned in China. “This summit is a golden opportunity for the president to do that.”
Smith added that he will be “immediately in touch with Secretary of State Marco Rubio after this hearing” to relay the committee’s findings to him and to urge Trump to “look Xi Jinping in the eyes and advocate for the release of the prisoners.”
Jin’s daughter, Grace Jin, who translated her father’s testimony, added during the hearing that at the time of her father’s arrest, he was detained by the government alongside 17 pastors and church leaders for “running an illegal operation.”
Ezra Jin said some of the pastors he was imprisoned with are still being held in detention despite having served their sentences, while others are no longer imprisoned but are not allowed to leave China despite having the proper documentation to immigrate to the United States.
He then pleaded with committee members to urge Trump to pressure Xi to release the other worshippers who were arrested alongside him. (IFA) Read more here.

DSA Chapter Leader Resigns, Warns 'Frightening' and 'Extreme' Radicals Are Running the Show

A former leader of the Democratic Socialists of America who left the organization issued a warning for those still part of the movement to likewise “leave.”
Jake Altman, who was an executive board member for the Boston chapter of the DSA, said in a Saturday interview with Fox News that the group is working to “force their agenda down other people’s throats. I had been involved in my local union and met some people who were far, far to the left, in like, a frightening way,” he described.I was looking for a more pragmatic and thoughtful option on the left that was focused on economic policy.”
As he became more involved with the DSA, he developed the realization that the group was “beginning to sound more and more like those extreme groups on the left that I, you know, certainly didn’t want anything to do with.”
“Flash forward to today… you have DSA members saying, ‘Bernie Sanders, AOC, they’re not socialists,’” Altman added. “They’re willing to fall over themselves apologizing for any regime that opposes the United States, simply because it opposes the United States.”
The DSA has generated headlines throughout the 2026 election cycle, with several DSA and socialist-aligned candidates unseating establishment Democrat incumbents in the primaries.
Altman warned that there is a “marriage” between “Marxist utopianism” and “third worldism” characterizing the DSA. He described it as “this view that America is a unique evil in the world and that its enemies have a point.”
That’s when he advised Democrats who are still members to “leave.”
“I personally think that just, given the organization and the structure inside, that a lot of dissident voices have been silenced,” he continued. “A lot of dissident voices have left the organization.” (The Western Journal) Read more here.

Federal Judge Refers Soros-Funded DA for Criminal Prosecution After Finding 'Credible Evidence' He 'Violated the Law'

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner is under a cloud after a federal judge said he should be investigated for possibly violating the law.
U.S. District Court Judge Paul S. Diamond said that amid internal backbiting and feuding in the DA’s office, Krasner may be guilty of conspiracy or obstruction of justice, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Diamond wants federal prosecutors to investigate and sift through a welter of testimony to determine what actions were taken in the DA’s office after a man sought to have his murder conviction overturned.
Former Assistant District Attorney Jaclyn Mason initially handled the case, but after a spat with supervisors who said the brief she filed contained errors, quit and said former supervisor Matthew Stiegler forced her to file a faulty filing.
The supervisors testified Stiegler wanted to frame Mason as an error-prone “rogue” and that Krasner called that a “really good idea.”
The supervisors rejected the plan, and in the battle over next steps, Krasner reportedly wanted no outside involvement to “protect the office” and “control the proceedings.” He also threatened “consequences” if they revealed what was taking place.
Diamond equated such comments with obstruction of justice and said that Stiegler may have committed perjury, calling his testimony “often contradictory, evasive, or outright dishonest.”

1. Liberman proposes Jordan control parts of West Bank, drawing right-wing rebuke - Times of Israel
Yisrael Beytenu party chief Avigdor Liberman suggested Wednesday that Jordan take over control of parts of the West Bank, drawing criticism from a number of right-wing politicians including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In an interview with the right-wing B’Sheva podcast, the hawkish, opposition-aligned Liberman proposed transferring security and administrative responsibility for Areas A and B of the West Bank to Jordan, noting that the Palestinian Authority “has gone bankrupt.”
“You have to reach an understanding with the Jordanians that they will manage Judea and Samaria. Let them take security and administrative responsibility. You can’t have a vacuum,” Liberman said, referring to the West Bank by its biblical name. (Read more)

2. Syrian President rejects Israeli sovereignty over Golan in UN Speech

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa on Wednesday addressed the United Nations General Assembly, declaring that Syria would continue to claim the Golan Heights and accusing Israel of carrying out hundreds of strikes and incursions into Syrian territory.
Speaking before the General Assembly, al-Sharaa said Syria had undergone significant changes over the past year, telling world leaders, “Last year, I mentioned that Syria came back. Today, I say that Syria is rising."

3. Israel’s election panel bars Ra’am and Joint List; Supreme Court fight looms

Israel’s Central Elections Committee voted Wednesday to bar both Ra’am and the Joint List from the October 27 parliamentary election, setting up a Supreme Court fight over whether the two Arab-led slates can appear on the ballot.
The challenge to Ra’am came from three petitioners: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit party, and the Choosing Life forum of bereaved families and victims of terrorism.

Officials laid the cornerstone for the “Joshua Trail,” the first project under Israel’s new “Biblical Trails in Judea and Samaria” tourism initiative, the Ministry of Tourism announced on Wednesday.
The NIS 3.2 million ($1 million) project will connect the Elon Moreh Heritage Center with the summit of Mount Kabir Nature Reserve through an accessible promenade and suspension bridge overlooking the Samaria region.
The trail will combine the area’s scenery with sites associated with its biblical and Jewish history.

5. German Jews sound the alarm as far-right and hard-left parties both surge

Germany's Jewish community is voicing deep alarm over back-to-back election results in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which arrived just two weeks after the AfD notched another major win in Saxony-Anhalt. Berlin handed first place to the far-left Die Linke, while the AfD emerged as the largest party in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
To many in German Jewry, the pattern is unmistakable. Parties on both fringes of the political map are gaining ground, while the parties of the center keep losing theirs.
That doesn't mean every voter for these parties harbors antisemitic views. Plenty are motivated by the cost of living, housing prices, immigration and security. 1. Honduran Migrant Caravan Heads Toward US Despite Deportation Warning - DML News
According to EFE, dozens of Honduran migrants moved toward the Corinto border crossing on Monday with the intention of entering Guatemala and continuing their journey to the United States despite tighter migration controls. The group began leaving San Pedro Sula on Sunday in small groups and could total between 200 and 400 people, some traveling with children.
The lack of economic opportunities again appears among the main reasons given by those who decided to leave Honduras. One of the immediate challenges will be continuing beyond Guatemala: Hondurans can travel within the conditions established by the CA-4 regional agreement, but Mexico maintains its own immigration requirements for entry into its territory. — Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced movie mogul, was sentenced in Manhattan to 15 years in prison Wednesday for a felony sex crime in another #MeToo reckoning.
Weinstein’s sentencing for sexually assaulting one-time TV production assistant Miriam Haley followed a legal odyssey spanning more than six years. His 2020 conviction was overturned by New York’s highest court. A second jury found Weinstein guilty again at a retrial last year.

4. Hamas Plotted Berlin, Vienna Attacks on Jews - Million Voices
German federal prosecutors have charged seven suspected Hamas operatives over a coordinated plot to attack Israeli and Jewish targets in Berlin and Vienna. The indictment, made public on September 11, reveals the group planned to strike on the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023, massacre in Israel. The 214-page filing shows just how close Europe came to another mass-casualty terror attack.
According to the charges against seven suspected Hamas operatives, the men intended to strike Israeli diplomats, Jewish community centers, and pro-Israel demonstrations. 5. Venezuelans Flood Streets of NYC to Protest Socialist Elites at U.N. - DML News
A large crowd of Venezuelans, Venezuelan-Americans, and anti-socialist supporters gathered on Tuesday at the United Nations’ Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza to protest the presence of Nicolás Maduro’s protege, and current “interim president” of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez at the General Assembly.
The crowd of dozens waved Venezuelan flags, held up protest signs against Rodríguez and what is left of the illegitimate Maduro regime, and emphasized that Rodríguez and her cohort do not represent the Venezuelan people. Some in the crowd also expressed concern about an agreement Rodríguez arranged with the government of President Donald Trump to share in the development of Venezuela’s oil resources, suggesting the regime would eventually break any promises it made to Washington. 6. James Talarico’s Pastor and Mentor Doubts Resurrection of Jesus in Easter Message: ‘Maybe Jesus Rose from the Dead, but Maybe Not’ - Breitbart
Controversial pastor Rev. Jim Rigby, head of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas, and mentor to Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico, once rejected the entire cornerstone of the Gospel, stating during an Easter message Jesus may have not risen from the dead and that, perhaps, Jesus’s conquest over death should not be taken literally.
Talarico has no shortage of questionable positions given his self-proclaimed status as a Christian. In fact, he openly denied Jesus is the way to truth, asserting people can get there through pagan gods and other religions.
This goes directly against Jesus’s words to the disciples, making it clear He is the way and the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. (Read more)

We come against all attacks of the enemy on pastors and churches, to lead your people astray and we break its powers right now in Jesus Christs name. Stupidocrisy: Secure Elections with Dirty Voter Rolls?

Democrats keep claiming elections are secure. Yet they constantly block efforts to prevent fraud. California, Oregon, Illinois and New York offer a troubling pattern. Judicial Watch says California has 873,092 registrations that remained inactive through at least three federal elections, despite federal law requiring removal under required federal procedures. Oregon settled a lawsuit after allegations that 29 of 36 counties removed few or no registrations under a key federal cleanup provision, with some 800,000 registrations slated for review and removal. Illinois litigation cited 23 counties, covering nearly one million registrations, that reported only 100 removals during a two-year period. But that’s not the worst of it.
The National Conference of State Legislatures says 14 states and Washington, D.C., allow in-person voting without requiring an identification document, relying instead on signatures, affidavits or other non-documentary verification. California generally does not require ID at the polls. New York verifies most identities during registration, with ID requested from certain first-time voters only when identity could not previously be confirmed. Washington, D.C., says registered voters generally need no ID or proof of residence when voting in person. An accurate voter list is the first line of defense when the person at the polls usually presents no documentary identification. Vance-led task force set to remove 750K ObamaCare enrollees, citing fraud

The Trump administration is removing close to 760,000 people from Affordable Care Act (ACA) coverage due to allegedly fraudulent enrollment, Vice President Vance announced Tuesday. The cancellations would save an estimated $2.2 billion in taxpayer funds, officials said.
“These are not real people. We’re not paying insurance for nonexistent ghosts,” Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), said during a White House press conference. Oz and Vance said officials are planning to do “some additional verification” on about 419,000 people who they also suspect of being fraudulently enrolled. “We’re actually making sure that the people receiving ObamaCare subsidies are actually entitled to receive them,” the vice president said.
Oz estimated that about 35 percent of people currently on the ObamaCare exchanges have never used their insurance.
The effort is being led by Vance’s White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, which has been focusing much of its efforts on healthcare. The task force recently has been involved with White House efforts to withhold billions of dollars in Medicaid funding from Minnesota and California, alleging the states have not done enough to combat fraud.
“This is not about cutting off anybody from their benefits. It’s about cutting off fraudsters from stealing from these programs,” Vance said Tuesday. (The Hill) Read more here.

Lord God,
As rampant fraud continues, we pray for Vice president JD Vance and Dr. Oz as they continue to investigate the allegedly fraudulent enrollment of the 760,000 people on ObamaCare and remove them from the Affordable Care Act.
Lord, we are grieved that a large number of these enrollments funded by taxpayer dollars are going to nonexistent people according to Dr. Oz, Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Father, we pray that these webs of deceit would continue to be uncovered and the perpetrators be brought to justice.
It is our prayer, that the light of God's truth would shine down on our nation and those who need financial benefits would be able to receive them. Bless, Lord, the elderly, widows and orphans as this investigation continues. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen and Amen.

Conservatives are pushing back after Rep. Ilhan Omar. D-Minn., introduced legislation that would redirect over $100 billion in funds previously allocated to immigration enforcement and "invest it into communities across the country that have been impacted by the Department of Homeland Security’s heinous operations."
Omar explained in a press release Thursday that her Make ICE Pay Act is a response to "Operation Metro Surge" in Minnesota and that it would send nearly $140 billion of ICE and Border Patrol funding from Trump’s signature One Big Beautiful Bill Act toward "local recovery efforts" from immigration enforcement that has taken place across the country.
Omar says the funding will be used by local jurisdictions to provide economic relief and distribute money through the states to nonprofits, small businesses and other impacted entities to support schools, healthcare and psychological services, increased local-government expenses, investigations and memorialization efforts. The program would be administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, overseen by its inspector general and expire three years after its creation.
"ICE has been tearing through our nation, devastating our neighborhoods, our cities, and our businesses," Omar posted on X about the legislation. "Our communities deserve accountability. My Make ICE Pay Act will redirect ICE's $140 billion budget to the communities they've hurt the most."
While the bill’s future is bleak as long as Republicans control Congress and the White House, it was quickly blasted by conservatives as emblematic of an ideology that places more of an emphasis on protecting illegal immigrants than it does enforcing immigration law.

We pray that this bill, being brought forth by Rep. Omar, would be 'dead on arrival' as it is introduced in Congress. As written,
it would redirect $100 billion in funds previously allocated to ICE, which is totally unacceptable! We declare the blood of Jesus over this insane bill!
Lord, this "Make Ice Pay Act" is truly anti-American as it defunds law enforcement and gives the funding to communities harboring criminal illegal aliens. It is our prayer that as Democrats continue to fight for everyone except the American people that the Republican congress would continue to shut down bills like this and that people's eyes would be opened to the truth and vote out those who seek to destroy America.

PERFECT STORM ‘Truly historic’ Hurricane Polo hit rare cat-5 status as winds rocketed to 180mph with threat-to-life without landfall

Hurricane Polo was a Category 5 storm on Tuesday, the highest on the scale, with winds near 180mph before it weakened to a Category 4 on Wednesday in the West Pacific.
The hurricane off the coast of Mexico downgraded on Wednesday, but will remain “a very powerful major hurricane during the next few days,” according to the US National Hurricane Center.
While Polo is predicted to remain offshore, it is expected to bring intense rainfall to the southwestern coastal areas through Thursday. “This rainfall may produce life-threatening flooding and mudslides, especially in areas of steep terrain,” the hurricane center said.
The storm could bring three to six inches of rain, with some areas across the coastal portions of Guerrero and Michoacán reaching upwards of eight inches.
The Mexican states of Oaxaca, Jalisco and Colima are expected to see two to four inches of rain in coastal areas. Swells generated by the storm are also expected to affect parts of southwestern Mexico over the course of a few days. “These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf, rip current conditions, and coastal flooding,” forecasters advised.
Southern California is predicted to escape the worst of the storm’s wrath, but Hurricane Polo could still stir up trouble with swells along the coastline, which was recently hit by another offshore storm, Hurricane Marie. (The U.S. Sun) Read More
