Former Chicago police official says Democrats are 'afraid' a Trump crime crackdown in the city would work
|

Former head of the Chicago Police Department Jody Weis called out the two top Democrats in Illinois, arguing they are afraid of being humiliated by President Donald Trump successfully bringing down crime in the city.
After Trump caused shockwaves with his crackdown on crime in Washington D.C., Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson warned the president against trying to interfere in Chicago. But Trump declared in no uncertain terms on Tuesday, "We're going in. I didn't say when, we're going in."
Weis spoke to National News Desk that same day, chastising Pritzker and Johnson for opposing Trump’s federal assistance efforts to combat crime.
After criticizing the city’s high level of Black-on-Black crime, Weis lamented that "the governor and the mayor said they don’t want any help. So, to me, when you refuse help you are saying you are happy with the numbers – and that is absolutely unacceptable in Chicago right now."
He also criticized Pritzker specifically for walking near the lake in the early morning as if to show Chicago is safe, proposing, "Let him walk in the Austin neighborhood or the Inglewood neighborhoods at 11 o’clock, because that’s where many of his constituents live – and they’re not going to feel safe."
"I think they are afraid that people will see what can be done if politicians commit to taking action and really want to make a difference," Weis said. "That’s really the only reason I can think of because otherwise, it makes no sense.
"And if you look at what Mayor Muriel Bowser has done in D.C. – she’s embraced it and it’s made a huge difference. I wish they would learn from her." (Fox News) Read more here.

US Forces Strike Suspected Drug Boat, 11 Tren de Aragua Members Killed: Trump

|
U.S. forces in the Caribbean fired upon a drug boat from Venezuela, killing 11 members of the gang Tren de Aragua, President Donald Trump announced on Sept. 2, amid a heightened naval operation near the country.
He first confirmed the attack during the White House press briefing, stating, “We, just over the last few minutes, literally shot out a boat, a drug-carrying boat, a lot of drugs in that boat.”
Later that same day, the president confirmed on Truth Social that U.S. military forces “positively identified Tren de Aragua Narcoterrorists” spotted in an area under the United States Southern Command’s responsibility.

“The strike occurred while the terrorists were at sea in International waters transporting illegal narcotics, heading to the United States,” he said in the post. “The strike resulted in 11 terrorists killed in action. No U.S. Forces were harmed in this strike.

China military parade sees Xi Jinping joined by Putin and Kim Jong Un for huge display of
anti-U.S. unity

Beijing — China flexed its might and muscle on Wednesday at a military parade in Beijing showcasing its latest missiles, advanced weapons systems and drones. In his address, President Xi Jinping said his nation was "unstoppable."
It was China's biggest military parade ever, meant to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and Japan's formal surrender. But the massive "Victory Day" procession down Chang-an Avenue — the name of which means "Eternal Peace" — carried a much broader message. Standing next to Xi for the parade were Russia's Vladimir Putin and North Korea's Kim Jong Un.
Security in the sprawling Chinese capital was extra tight. All buildings overlooking the parade route were locked down as the leaders and other dignitaries from 26 countries took in the spectacle, along with some 50,000 spectators.
It was a landmark moment for Xi, China's 72-year-old leader. It was the third and most important military parade he has overseen since coming to power in 2012.
As commander-in-chief of the world's largest standing armed forces, he watched smiling as tens of thousands of troops under his orders goose stepped in perfect unison toward Tiananmen Square in central Beijing with the sound of cannons ringing through the air.
It was a visceral display of China's growing military might and newest hardware, including hypersonic weapons, nuclear capable missiles, a new laser weapon, fighter jets and underwater drones. But it also pointedly showed off Beijing's growing clout as a geopolitical power, with deepening ties to some of the United States' most potent adversaries.
The message from the stage, with Xi, Putin and Kim standing shoulder to shoulder, was undeniable: strength in solidarity, and a challenge to the U.S.-dominated world order that has prevailed for a century.
Together, they have been dubbed an "Axis of Upheaval" by some Western analysts, and Xi's decision to bring together the leaders of some of the most heavily sanctioned nations in the world was clearly calculated. We ask You, Jesus, to pour out conviction and the reality that You know their every thought, nothing is hidden from You. We ask You to replace the pride with fear of You, let each leader leave this meeting with fear so deep they dare not speak of it, give them very real reasons to reconsider their position. We ask this in the name El Roi, The God Who Sees everything.

Johnson calls Newsom's remark on Catholic school attack 'evil,' 'sick'
|

|
House Speaker Mike Johnson slammed California Gov. Gavin Newsom for his "anti-Christian rhetoric" in the aftermath of the deadly shooting in Minnesota.
Johnson, speaking during his first press conference since lawmakers returned from an extended recess, noted that the Democrat governor had taken personal jabs at him in recent weeks and accused Newsom of "shamelessly" mocking the victims of the Annunciation Catholic School shooting, where two children were killed and 17 people injured during morning Mass.
The Louisiana Republican pointed to Newsom’s post on X in response to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who condemned former White House press secretary and current MSNBC host Jen Psaki’s comments criticizing the outpouring of "thoughts and prayers" and lack of focus on gun control.
Leavitt slammed Psaki's comments as "incredibly insensitive and disrespectful" to Americans of faith.
"These children were literally praying as they got shot at," Newsom fired back.
Johnson called Newsom's remarks "sick."
"I mean, like, why would we do that? Why would you do that? Except that you are starving for attention," he said. "It's detestable. Two children were murdered. More than a dozen were hospitalized, and Gavin Newsom’s response was to sneer and condemn those who seek out our creator in the darkest moments."

The enemy is always front and center to use those who don't know You to speak irrational and very hurtful things because of the hardness of heart that exists within them. 1. Smotrich unveils plan for Israeli sovereignty over 82% of West Bank - i24 News
Israeli Finance Minister Betsalel Smotrich announced Wednesday a sweeping plan to extend Israeli sovereignty to 82 percent of the West Bank, framing the move as a preemptive measure to “definitively bury the idea of a Palestinian state.”
The announcement followed the government’s approval of a controversial settlement expansion in the E1 area near Ma’ale Adumim.
Speaking alongside Yesha Council Chairman Yisrael Gantz, Smotrich declared: “2025 will be the year of sovereignty in the West Bank.” His strategy, he explained, rests on the principle of “maximum territory, minimum population.”
The E1 project, authorizing 3,401 housing units, would effectively split the West Bank in two, from north to south, and sever territorial continuity between East Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank. ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — A top United Arab Emirates official warned Israel on Tuesday that annexing the West Bank would cross a “red line” that would “end the vision of regional integration,” just two days before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was slated to hold a major ministerial consultation on whether to advance the highly controversial move.
“Annexation would be a red line for my government, and that means there can be no lasting peace. It would foreclose the idea of regional integration and be the death knell of the two-state solution,” Emirati special envoy Lana Nusseibeh told The Times of Israel in an interview conducted in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi.

3. IDF chief announces second phase of Operation Gideon's Chariots - Israel Hayom
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir conducted a comprehensive field assessment on Wednesday throughout the Gaza Strip alongside Southern Command chief Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asur and senior infantry and armored corps commanders.
Throughout the inspection, the Chief of Staff maintained surveillance over Gaza City, received detailed briefings regarding the 162nd Division's operational status and strategic plans for expanding the maneuver. The chief of staff engaged with division commanders and combat soldiers while commending their operational performance.
"We are escalating combat within the primary theater, throughout the Gaza Strip, while intensifying strikes against the Hamas terror organization," Chief of Staff Zamir addressed fighters deployed in the field. 4. Israel says Hamas preventing Gaza City evacuation, but 70,000 have left anyway

Israeli officials on Wednesday accused Hamas of preventing civilians from evacuating Gaza City ahead of Israel’s plans for a major offensive to conquer the area, saying the terror group was using them as human shields while amplifying claims of “forced displacement” to sway international opinion.
On Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces released a recording it said was of a Gaza City man complaining of Hamas obstructing escape routes.
Despite those allegations, defense officials estimated that 70,000 to 80,000 people have fled the city so far, most of them in the past 72 hours (over the weekend, the number stood at 10,000). The figures are still far short of the city’s estimated one million residents, though officials expect departures to continue as the IDF presses its campaign.

5. Two terrorists killed in Southern Lebanon, reports Israel - JNS
The Israeli Air Force on Wednesday killed two terrorists and struck a facility in Lebanon whose activity violated the terms of the ceasefire between Israel and the Shi’ite terrorist group, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.
The terrorists were killed within the space of two hours, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said, in separate aerial strikes guided by the 91st Division. The IDF identified one slain terrorist as Abd al-Manaam Musa Suwaydan, a Hezbollah operative in the Yatar municipality in Southern Lebanon.
His role included liaising for Hezbollah with the Yatar villagers on financial and military issues, the statement said, adding: “The terrorist acted to take over private properties for terror purposes, such as renting houses for storing combat equipment and surveillance.” (Read more)

what many see as a major victory for the pro-life movement, the largest Planned Parenthood in the nation is shutting its doors, and in Houston, of all places. According to Christianity Today, this facility “gained widespread attention in 2015, when the Center for Medical Progress published clandestine video from the clinic.” Those videos exposed Planned Parenthood for “the harvesting and sale of aborted fetal body parts at major abortion clinics across the country.”
This closure comes just weeks after a wave of other Planned Parenthood facilities were forced to close, following tens of millions of dollars in federal funding cuts. In the spring of 2025, President Trump signed an executive order enforcing the Hyde Amendment, which protects Americans from being compelled to pay for abortions through their tax dollars. 2. Minneapolis School Shooting Sparks Debate Over Transgender Ideology, Mental Health, and Spiritual Warfare - Million Voices
Tragedy struck the city of Minneapolis on Wednesday when a 23-year-old man, who identified as a woman, entered a Catholic school and opened fire. According to Fox News, two children were killed, and 17 others were injured. The attack has ignited intense debate over mental illness, particularly transgender dysphoria, and its cultural implications.
The shooter (who will not be named) left behind a manifesto, now circulating widely on social media, filled with disturbing comments and threats. In one video, the perpetrator is seen holding rifle magazines with messages scrawled across them: “for the children,” “kill Donald Trump,” and “where is your God?”

4. Pirro announces massive drug shipment seized from China in ‘undeclared war against America’ - DML News
From Fox News: Federal officials made a high-seas interception of hundreds of thousands of pounds of two different precursor chemicals that are used to make methamphetamine, a shipment they say came from China and was destined for the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico.
Jeanine Pirro, United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, announced what officials called the largest ever bust of precursor chemicals being shipped to a foreign terrorist organization during a news conference in Pasadena, Texas, on Wednesday.
“Tons of chemicals that are used to create synthetic drugs like methamphetamine and fentanyl are shipped from China to Mexico in China’s undeclared war against America,” Pirro said.

5. Hurricane Kiko has changed course, predicted to make historic direct hit on the United States - DML News
Hurricane Kiko’s course has shifted and the major storm is now headed straight for Hawaii in a rare weather event for the islands. New spaghetti models of the Category 2 hurricane project that the storm will strike Hawaii’s Big Island by next week.
Kiko has been building in strength in the eastern Pacific Ocean, with local meteorologists now predicting it will become major Category 3 hurricane Wednesday. The storm has sustained winds of more than 100 mph after reaching hurricane status early Tuesday morning.
AccuWeather meteorologists are predicting that Kiko will make landfall in Hawaii Tuesday night, September 9. Parts of the main island are expected to be hit with up to 8 inches of rain once the hurricane lands. (Read more) |

Stupidocrisy: Ban It Sooner Than Later

The FDA announced a removal of the Emergency Use Authorization of the COVID vaccine. The FDA and Pfizer knew of serious safety signals before the Emergency Use Authorization. Pfizer’s own early safety review, the “5.3.6 Cumulative Analysis of Post-Authorization Adverse Event Reports of BNT162b2” dated February 2021, catalogued more than 42,000 adverse event reports with nearly 160,000 individual events in just the first three months. Pfizer concluded that none of these “were consequential enough” to hold back approval. The FDA went along with it. Now, with independent science repeatedly confirming risks of myocarditis, pericarditis, and waning effectiveness, there is action.
The slogan “safe and effective” became the government’s mantra, repeated endlessly while concerns were dismissed as fringe. Yet large-scale studies now show otherwise. The Lancet published evidence of elevated myocarditis risk in young men. Nature Communications confirmed that even the dosing interval influenced heart inflammation outcomes. Multiple NEJM and JAMA reports documented that protection against infection dropped below 20% after just six months. This is not a profile of safety or effectiveness; it is a failed medical product. To continue marketing it under false pretenses while evidence piles up is a dereliction of duty by both regulators and pharmaceutical executives who cashed in at the expense of public health. Redistricting Wars Come Back to Bite Democrats

The Texas tantrum over redistricting may have made for good television, but it’s turning out to be a terrible strategy. Sure, Democrats may have earned some kudos from their raging base, but opening this can of electoral worms is starting to backfire, strategists warn. Part of the price of painting Republicans as gerrymandering cheats is exposing the Democrats’ own years-long hustle of rigging congressional maps. Now that the spotlight is on, Americans are finally getting a good look at how badly the Left has abused the system in blue states. And it isn’t pretty.
In one of the truest silver linings of this unexpected storyline of 2025, Republicans are finally pulling back the curtain on how liberal leaders have spent decades scamming the system. While governors like Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) are showing plenty of bravado in their threats to retaliate, the reality is this: they’re picking a fight they’ll almost certainly lose.
“We’ve had these conversations before about what’s the best way and what’s the fairest way for redistricting,” Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R) of Indiana said. “It’s a difficult process. It’s a political process. And so, in a lot of times when states win majorities in their House of Representatives and their state senates, they’re the ones that draw these maps. And sometimes the courts get involved. Sometimes the independent commissions get involved. But what I believe is the reason for Indiana to redraw the maps is the fact that states like California, New York, [and] Illinois right next door to us, they all counted their illegal immigrants into their census, which gives them an unfair number. … So the fact that Indiana has taken a look at this, I think is a wise thing to do.”

OPM Nixes Taxpayer-Funded Gender Transitions for Federal Employees

Health insurance plans for federal employees will no longer cover surgical and chemical gender transition procedures, the White House’s Office of Personnel Management (OPM) announced last month. The move expands on an earlier decision to remove coverage for gender transition procedures on minors and steers federal policy away from gender ideology, sparing taxpayers who would rather not pay for the controversial procedures.
“For Plan Year 2026, chemical and surgical modification of an individual’s sex traits through medical interventions (to include ‘gender transition’ services) will no longer be covered under the FEHB [Federal Employees Health Benefits] or PSHB [Postal Service Health Benefits] Programs,” OPM informed health insurance carriers in an August 15 letter (“Carrier Letter 2025-01b”).
Every year, the OPM issues a “Call Letter” to health insurance carriers, which “outlines benefit policy and strategic initiatives of importance,” the OPM described in a letter issued on January 15, 2025, days before the second Trump administration began. The letter directed carriers to “submit their benefit and rate proposals” by the end of May, for “the contract term beginning January 1, 2026.” Under the Biden administration, OPM aimed to complete benefit negotiations by the end of July and rate negotiations by mid-August.
However, the Trump administration ushered in sweeping reforms across the federal government, with no organ more critical to its reform effort than OPM.
On January 31, OPM updated its guidance to health insurance providers in a second letter (“Carrier Letter 2025-01a”) based on President Trump’s executive orders (EOs) “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government” and “Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation.”
“Pursuant to the first EO, all federal agencies are tasked with ensuring all federal policies and documents that require an individual’s sex list two options, male and female, and shall not make available third options or request “gender identity,” the letter stated. “Pursuant to the second EO, all Carriers for Plan Year 2026 “‘will exclude coverage for pediatric transgender surgeries or hormone treatments’ for the purpose of gender transition” for “covered individuals under age 19.”
As of August 15, the OPM has now extended the ban on taxpayer funding (through health insurance) of gender transition procedures to all individuals covered by federal health insurance plans, not just minors. (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

Trump admin., 19 states back Christian ministry headed for Supreme Court showdown

The federal government has joined 19 states and several nationwide religious liberty organizations to support a pro-life Christian ministry in New Jersey ahead of an expected showdown against the state before the U.S. Supreme Court this fall.
The United States and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce joined an amicus brief led by Missouri in the case First Choice Women's Resource Centers v. Platkin, which centers on an investigation by New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin into First Choice.
The firm provides counseling, medical services, diapers and other assistance to over 36,000 women across New Jersey facing unplanned pregnancies. The suit alleges that Platkin violated the ministry's First Amendment rights by targeting its religious and pro-life mission without evidence of wrongdoing.
Calling it a "simple case" based on "bedrock principles" of federal law, the brief from the U.S. Department of Justice mirrored a similar filing from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which warned of an "exploding" rise in politically motivated investigations by state officials.
Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a religious freedom legal nonprofit representing First Choice, filed a suit in December 2023 to challenge the investigation in federal court, but lower courts ruled the claims must first be pursued in state court. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments in the fall.
In their filing, 19 states joined an amicus brief led by Missouri in support of First Choice, arguing that Platkin's investigation infringes on First Amendment rights and that federal courts have jurisdiction to weigh in on such claims. (Christian Post) Read more here.

(CNN) — Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers have called for international help after a huge earthquake killed hundreds of people and leveled entire villages, piling further misery on the war-ravaged country that was already grappling with food shortages and cuts to foreign aid.
At least 1,411 were killed and 3,124 others injured after the 6.0-magnitude quake struck towns and villages close to the Pakistan border on Sunday, causing strong aftershocks in Kabul, according to Taliban government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid on Tuesday. The devastating earthquake has also destroyed more than 5,400 homes, Mujahid added.
Heavy rain, landslides and damaged roads have made it difficult for relief teams to access the remote mountainous areas hit hardest by the quake.
Meanwhile, recent US aid cuts have crunched relief efforts in the country, which has been contending with shrinking global aid since the Taliban seized control in 2021, imposing harsh rules and punishments on the nation’s 43 million people.
